Hastings Campground & RV Park Introduce
For local residents of Hastings, Nebraska, and those in the surrounding areas seeking a convenient "camping near me" option, Hastings Campground & RV Park, located at 302 E 26th St, Hastings, NE 68901, USA, provides a range of facilities for both RV and tent campers. You can contact them at (402) 462-5621 or their mobile number, +1 402-462-5621, for reservations and inquiries. Based on the available customer reviews, Hastings Campground & RV Park offers a mix of practical amenities and a convenient location, although some aspects might benefit from updates.
One of the significant features highlighted in the reviews is the availability of "full hookups," which is particularly beneficial for RV travelers. This typically includes connections for electricity, water, and sewer, providing a comfortable and convenient stay for those with recreational vehicles. Additionally, the campground offers essential amenities such as "showers, restrooms, and laundry" facilities, located within the clubhouse. These are crucial for both RV and tent campers, ensuring a more comfortable and extended stay.
The clubhouse also boasts a "TV and game room," providing opportunities for recreation and relaxation, especially during inclement weather or downtime. This feature can be particularly appealing to families and those looking for on-site entertainment options. The mention of a "basement to shelter in during storms" is also a significant safety feature, offering peace of mind during severe weather conditions common in the Nebraska region.
The campground's location is described as a "great location to stay during a softball tournament," indicating its proximity to local sports facilities or other attractions that draw visitors to Hastings. This suggests that the campground serves as a convenient base for those visiting the area for specific events or activities. Its accessibility within Hastings makes it a practical choice for both local and out-of-town visitors.
However, one reviewer notes that "while the property was clean and maintained, it is past its prime" and suggests that "a little updating / reinvestment would go a long way." This indicates that while the basic upkeep is satisfactory, the facilities might appear somewhat dated and could benefit from modernization to enhance the guest experience. Specific examples provided include "broken picnic table tops" and the need to renew the "rock/gravel areas" which are "covered in green weeds and grass." These details suggest that while the campground is functional, attention to these areas could significantly improve its aesthetic appeal and usability.
Despite these suggestions for improvement, the same reviewer concludes with an "overall positive" experience and states they "would stay again," indicating that the positive aspects of the campground, such as the full hookups, amenities, and location, outweigh the need for updates. The cleanliness of the clubhouse, despite its potential need for modernization, is also acknowledged as "clean and pleasant."
In contrast to the generally positive review, another customer expresses a negative experience, stating that "the guy running it seems to be quite lazy and rude" and advises to "take your business elsewhere." This review also mentions a specific incident where "he doesn’t help back trailers up at night." This feedback raises concerns about the customer service provided at the campground. While it's a single negative review among a more detailed and balanced one, it is important for potential visitors to consider this perspective alongside the positive aspects.
Considering the "camping near me" category for local users in Hastings, NE, Hastings Campground & RV Park offers a convenient option with essential amenities like full hookups, showers, restrooms, and laundry. The presence of a game room and storm shelter adds further value. Its location appears to be advantageous for those visiting for local events. However, potential campers should be aware of the feedback regarding the need for property updates and the conflicting reports about customer service.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided. To better attract local users, Hastings Campground & RV Park could focus on highlighting its convenient location within Hastings, the availability of full hookups for RVs, and the range of amenities offered in the clubhouse. Addressing the concerns raised in the reviews, such as plans for property updates and emphasizing a commitment to friendly and helpful customer service, could also be beneficial. Special offers for local residents or discounts for longer stays could further incentivize local bookings. Showcasing the cleanliness and functionality of their facilities, while acknowledging the ongoing need for improvements, would present a balanced and transparent image to potential guests.
In conclusion, Hastings Campground & RV Park provides a functional and conveniently located option for "camping near me" in Hastings, Nebraska, particularly for RVers needing full hookups and those attending local events. The availability of essential amenities like showers, laundry, and a game room adds to its practicality. However, potential guests should be aware of the feedback regarding the campground being somewhat dated and the conflicting reports about customer service. For local users, it may be beneficial to weigh the convenience and amenities against the noted areas for improvement and the reported negative customer service experience when making their decision. Contacting the campground directly with specific inquiries about site conditions, recent updates, and customer service policies might also be a helpful step in the decision-making process.

Hastings Campground & RV Park Reviews
Full hookups. Showers, restrooms, laundry, TV, and game room in the club house. Great location to stay during a softball tournament. While the property was clean and maintained, it is past its prime. A little updating / reinvestment would go a long way. I’d suggest starting with all the broken picnic table tops. Many reminders to not park on the grass, but the rock/gravel areas need to be renewed as they are covered in green weeds and grass. While the clubhouse could use some updates, it was clean and pleasant. It also had a basement to shelter in during storms. Overall positive and would stay again.

Nov 15, 2024 · SteveFull hookups were a plus, but overall not a very welcoming atmosphere. The internet they advertise on the website doesn't reach out to the campers. They say the pool was replaced by a basketball court, but it's just a cement pad with no hoop. I wouldn't let my kids play on the playground equipment due to the sharp, broken plastic slide and the overall dilapidated conditions. There isn't any signage to direct you to your spot, They are very strict about not parking in the grass, but good luck knowing where they actually mean by "grass" when it all looks the same as the intended parking spots. Only one of the dryers in the laundry work, and takes multiple cycles to dry the small load. Apparently it's been that way for some time. The fences are falling apart and there's piles of broken concrete. Someone needs to put some money into this place to get it back into shape. It's falling apart.
Jan 07, 2022 · Anthony MurphyMost unfriendly camphost in the world. Owner/manager/camphost who ever he was. No one in the office when I got there. Called the number that was posted on the door and reached a cranky guy who walked me through the self check in. It was his day off. He helped me but was very grumpy and not very happy or friendly at all. If this business is an inconvenience for you sir, maybe it's time you move on. The campground is ok, everything worked. I've stayed here before and was treated very kindly.
Nov 08, 2022 · Craig KenyonAlthough the campsites themselves are spacious and easy pull through the Wi-Fi and cellular signals are terrible. The campground itself needs updating like new picnic tables and wiring as I’ve already blown a breaker just from running the AC in the campground is only half full currently there’s only one dryer but three washers your rounders are fairly polite management so so there’s open cornfields so the wind here is except excessive the campground needs shrubbery and trees to help block wind and rain but it is nicely positioned in the middle of town
