Hickory Point Reviews
Beautiful area, clean bathrooms, well kept campground/RV area, plenty of fish and super friendly people. Ask for Charlie. Larry's Bait shop it just down the road if needed. Remember it is lake life, so during the week it is quite. Thursday night people start to roll in for the weekend. Absolutely would recommend if you love to hike, fish, boat, or just chill out. Multiple stores are in town, which is not that far away, if needed.
Jul 24, 2021 · Debra MesserThis is very good place to camp at any season of the year.
Apr 10, 2025 · Adithya JayarathneGreat place to camp with an RV trailer - $20/night for full water and electric hookup. Camp host was really nice at Hickory Point. Also lake views from every spot. Spots more spaced out at Hickory than at Red Oak area. Only complaint is that there is no hand soap in bathroom, so be sure to bring your own.
Oct 08, 2020 · Nicki BondsGreat campground off the beaten path. Clean bathrooms, beautiful views of the lake. Boat ramp and swimming area are right there. My problem with this campground are the territorial locals. Unlike Oklahoma state parks, this is a first come first serve campground. If you show up on Friday you won't find a spot at Hickory Point. The last time we went to Okmulgee/Dripping Springs we came in on Friday at 4 and ended up having to stay over at Dripping Springs because all of Hickory Point was full. This time we purposely went early on Thursday. When we got there at 2 PM on Thursday the prime spots were already taken by giant 5th wheels. I sat and watched locals physically shuffle vehicles around blocking other camp sites for their friends/family. Another RV would show up and they would move their vehicle to make room for the RV. Then by dark on Friday the parking lot was like Walmart parking lot on Black Friday. Saturday morning at 5:30 in the morning there were a group of young males talking loudly and playing with their firearms.I really wish this was still a state park, and not operated by the City of Okmulgee. With reservations and more oversight.Another factor, Verizon has zero bars while at this campground.I won't go back there to camp again.
Oct 14, 2024 · mike novotnyNice small quiet campground. Great lake view. Small swimming area for the kiddos close by. Bathhouse is small but clean.
