Mar 07, 2025 · Anna ClarkeWe stopped to stay one night at the Hixton/Alma Center KOA Holiday and ended up staying 3 days. It is a real gem. It is quiet, spread out and landscaped like a botanical garden. Many, many flowers and bushes. Plenty of trees provide much shade. The place was all mowed up, neat and all areas immaculate. The shower areas were very clean. There is an additional shower house that is brand new. The laundry room was very pleasant and connected to the main office. The cabins all had flowers and bushes and were all recently updated and painted. The tent areas were flat, shaded and water and electricity. There is plenty to do with the kids. Pool, jumping pad, volleyball, fishing pond, basketball, big playground, bikes to rent. Trails to walk, plenty of room for the dogs to get walked and play area for dogs. The staff was friendly , professional and willing to help in any way. They all are quick to smile and assist you. It is a great getaway.prices reasonable. We travel a lot and think this KOA is one of the best for our needs.
Sep 16, 2024 · Karen GerardWe stayed at this KOA for 2 nights on our way to Door County. We had back in sites up on the “hill” and they were super nice. Not overly huge but plenty of room to setup and hang around our site and enjoy it. The staff was very friendly, the pool was AMAZING! Heated, tons of tables and chairs to sit at (heavy duty by the yard style), very clean. We did not use the bathroom facilities so I can’t speak to those but what we did experience at this KOA was excellent.
Aug 25, 2024 · Lynn SchroederClean campground with room for big rigs.Things to know:-very well maintained campground. Trash isn't picked up at sites like most KOAs because of animal life.-the night sky view is incredible. No light pollution!!-nice showers (bath house has cleaned individual rooms with a toilet and shower)-no parking spaces at the pool/pavilion. The staff did allow us to park at an empty site but this would still be challenging if mobility was an issue for you . However the pool as a bench in it which is awesome for families & accessibility-Staff was very proactive in cleaning up after a big storm.-when we booked three months in advance , asked to camp near our friends, but could not have been camping farther apart, which was frustrating with small kids. The campground wasn't full, but the owners were hosting a family so that may have been why.- not much shade on full hookup up back in sites-we got the vibes from the woman at the front desk that our children were not welcome in the game room & gift shop, but the folks hosting the kids social stuff were super friendly with our kiddos!-slight big brother vibes. The staff is very friendly but intense. If you want to be left alone this probably isn't the place 😜
Jul 14, 2024 · JENNYIt was a great place to spend time together with my husband and dog. Very friendly people. They were caring and even shared treats with my dog. It was our first camping trip of the season and it went splendid. Our camping neighbors even bought us a bundle of firewood for us. Very friendly. Even the bathrooms are kept very clean. I 1000% recommend camping here.
