Consider East Fork Indoor Group Campground, located at N9507 Campground Rd, Black River Falls, WI 54615. This unique facility, reachable at (888) 936-7463 or +1 888-936-7463, has garnered positive feedback for its location and the overall experience it offers, particularly for group and family getaways. However, recent reviews also highlight important factors to consider regarding pricing and the condition of some amenities. Let's delve into what East Fork Indoor Group Campground offers local users.
A Perfect Location with Beautiful Views
Multiple reviewers have praised the location of East Fork Indoor Group Campground as "perfect" with "beautiful views." This suggests that the campground is situated in a scenic area, likely offering picturesque landscapes and a tranquil environment. Black River Falls and the surrounding region of Wisconsin are known for their natural beauty, including forests, rivers, and potentially rolling hills or other appealing vistas. The positive comments about the location indicate that guests can expect an immersive natural experience while enjoying their stay. The opportunity to wake up to beautiful scenery can significantly enhance any getaway, making East Fork Indoor Group Campground an attractive option for those seeking a visually appealing "camping near me" destination.
The Appeal of the "Amazing" Cabin
The accommodation at East Fork Indoor Group Campground is described as a "cabin" that is "amazing." This suggests that instead of traditional tent camping or RV sites, the facility offers an indoor structure, likely providing more comfort and protection from the elements. The term "indoor group campground" implies that this cabin is designed to accommodate larger groups or families. The positive feedback about the cabin itself indicates that it is well-suited for providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay, contributing significantly to the positive memories formed by returning families over the years. The cleanliness of the cabin, described as "as clean as a cabin will get," further adds to its appeal, suggesting a well-maintained environment for guests.
A Haven for Family Memories and Quiet Enjoyment
For many families, East Fork Indoor Group Campground has become a cherished tradition, with one family mentioning over ten years of creating memories at this location. This speaks volumes about the special quality of the place, described as a "staple" to their family. Guests appreciate the quiet atmosphere, where "it’s really quiet" and wildlife, such as deer and other animals, can be observed. One reviewer eloquently stated that it possesses "something that so so special that not even a 5 star hotel van compare," emphasizing the unique charm and character of the campground that goes beyond luxurious amenities. The presence of a guest book where visitors can share their experiences further fosters a sense of community and connection among those who stay there.
Important Considerations: Recent Price Increase and Amenities
While the overall experience has been positive for many, a significant concern raised in a recent review is a "outrageous price" increase, with the cost reportedly jumping from $40 to $100 in a short period. The reviewer expressed heartbreak over this drastic change, stating that it would severely limit their family's ability to return to a place with significant sentimental value. This is a crucial factor for potential local users to consider, as the affordability of the campground may have changed considerably. Additionally, the same review pointed out that this price increase has not been accompanied by renovations or updates to the appliances. Specific issues mentioned include a fridge that does not keep items cold, a breaking shower panel, and a fireplace that has become increasingly loud. The lack of snow removal was also noted as a concern during winter stays. These points suggest that while the location and cabin have inherent appeal, the condition of some amenities may not align with the new pricing structure.
Interaction with Park Staff: Positive Feedback for Emily the Park Ranger
One particularly positive aspect highlighted in a review is the exceptional service provided by Emily, the Park Ranger, who is described as "really super nice." Positive interactions with park staff can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, and Emily's friendly demeanor seems to have left a lasting positive impression on at least one family. This suggests that despite any concerns about pricing or amenities, the staff at East Fork Indoor Group Campground strive to provide a welcoming and helpful environment for their guests.
Planning Your Visit: Balancing Location and Cost
For local users considering East Fork Indoor Group Campground for a "camping near me" getaway, it's essential to weigh the positive aspects of its location, the appeal of the indoor cabin, and the quiet natural environment against the recent significant price increase and the reported condition of some amenities. Contacting the campground directly at the provided phone numbers would be advisable to inquire about current pricing, the status of the mentioned maintenance issues, and any other services or features available. Understanding the current costs and the condition of the facilities will help you make an informed decision about whether this campground aligns with your budget and expectations for a comfortable and enjoyable group or family camping experience. You may also want to inquire about any potential discounts for local residents or off-season rates.
In conclusion, East Fork Indoor Group Campground near Black River Falls, Wisconsin, offers a unique indoor cabin experience in a "perfect" and scenic location that has been cherished by families for years. The quiet environment and potential for wildlife sightings add to its appeal. However, prospective local users should be aware of the significant recent price increase and the reported issues with some amenities, as these factors may impact the overall value and enjoyment of the stay. Direct communication with the campground management is recommended to obtain the most up-to-date information and ensure it meets your needs for a "camping near me" retreat.

East Fork Indoor Group Campground Reviews
Okay, let me explain really quick about my 1 star review. This location, is perfect. The cabin, is amazing. The view is beautiful and place always as clean as a cabin will get. My family has been coming here for a little over 10 years, 10 years of memories with family. We have always loved and enjoyed this place. It has become a staple to our family. The reason I put a 1 Star is the outrageous price that anyone will be having to pay to stay here in the future. $40 jumped to $100 in the blink of an eye, is heartbreaking. My family will rarely be able to come back here at this price to a place that has been so meaningful to us over the years.I understand the cost of everything goes up over the years, but almost tripling in costs within 1 year breaks my heart.Thank you for the great memories though.I'd also like to point out that there are zero renovations or updated appliances in the past years of us going there, to make this cost change go up so drastically. The fridge doesn't keep any items cold, the shower panel is breaking, the fire place has been getting louder and louder each time we go. Snow removal wasn't taken care of either.
Dec 26, 2024 · Ariel HovlandLove this place!!! It’s one of our family’s favorite places to go for mini vacations. I could spend hours on why we love it out here! It’s really quiet, animals come around:mostly deer, but other come out. It’s not your Ritz Carlton, but it’s got something that so so special that not even a 5 star hotel van compare. I love this place. If I could own this place, it would be amazing!! Oh, by the way, Emily the Park Ranger is really super nice! Wish we got a picture of her, too. We will be back around Christmas and I’m already excited about it! See a few of the photos we’re posting. Oh, you can also write in this book to tell others about your experience, and read theirs, too!

Oct 24, 2024 · Danny DahlkeThis is such a wonderful place for families to get back to nature and spend quality time together. The views are phenomenal and we had wildlife come through the camp several times. Lovely walking trails are another plus! The cabin is wonderful. Sleeps 12 people and it's handicap accessible with a large bathroom with a shower that has a fold down bench. The kitchenette is fantastic and includes a stove, sink and refrigerator. There is a gas fireplace in case things get chilly. Our family had such a fantastic time! We were sad to leave. It's also very affordable and can accommodate 10 additional campers with tents. You will absolutely love it!!
Jul 05, 2022 · marla olsonThe only thing I would recommend is to keep a window fan available to be used as an exhaust fan during cooking in Winter time. It gets uncomfortably cold to keep the windows open for cross ventilation.
