Hollywood KOA Introduce
Seeking a "camping near me" option that provides access to the urban amenities of Hollywood, Florida? Hollywood KOA, located at 5931 Polk St, Hollywood, FL 33021, USA, offers a campground experience within a city environment. As part of the well-known KOA (Kampgrounds of America) network, it aims to provide a range of services for RV and potentially tent campers. However, recent customer reviews highlight both the convenience of its in-town location and some important considerations regarding site size, navigation, and the surrounding neighborhood. For local users looking for camping with easy city access, Hollywood KOA presents a viable option, but it's crucial to be aware of the potential limitations and surroundings based on feedback from fellow campers.
As a listing in the "camping near me" category, Hollywood KOA positions itself as a convenient base for exploring Hollywood and the broader South Florida area. The KOA brand often signifies a certain standard of amenities and services. However, the specific urban setting of this particular KOA introduces unique factors that differentiate it from campgrounds in more rural or natural locations. The user reviews provide a valuable, albeit mixed, perspective on the actual experience of staying at Hollywood KOA, emphasizing the trade-offs between city access and the typical expectations of a spacious and serene campground environment. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview for local users considering Hollywood KOA, incorporating the insights from recent reviews to offer a balanced understanding of what to expect.
Potential Environment: Urban Setting with Limited Space
The primary characteristic of the environment surrounding Hollywood KOA, based on user reviews, is its urban location. This offers the significant advantage of easy access to the city of Hollywood, with its attractions, restaurants, and services. For local users wanting to stay close to home while still enjoying a camping experience, or for those visiting Hollywood and needing RV or camping accommodations within the city, this location can be a major draw.
However, the urban setting also comes with potential drawbacks. One reviewer described the campground as "literally squeezed between a shady looking neighborhood," which raised concerns about safety. While another reviewer who was initially worried about the location reported "no issues whatsoever," this highlights the importance of being aware of the immediate surroundings. Additionally, the tight layout of the campground and the small site sizes were recurring themes in the reviews. One reviewer noted, "it’s very tight, I don’t know how the big rigs manage it," and another mentioned the limited site size as a con. This suggests that while the location offers urban convenience, the physical space of the campground itself might be constrained.
One positive environmental note was that the campground was "quieter at night than I expected," which can be a significant factor in an urban setting where noise pollution is often a concern.
Services and Amenities: Standard KOA Offerings with Friendly Staff
As part of the KOA network, Hollywood KOA likely offers a range of standard amenities. These typically include RV sites with hookups (water, electricity, and sewer), restroom and shower facilities, laundry services, and possibly Wi-Fi access. One reviewer mentioned being upgraded to a "pullthru site," which was appreciated for its convenience, suggesting that different site types are available.
The staff at Hollywood KOA received positive feedback in both reviews. One reviewer described the "customer service" as "good," and another noted that the "staff was friendly and helpful." This suggests that despite any limitations of the physical space, the service provided by the campground staff is a positive aspect of the guest experience.
One reviewer did not use the bathhouse, so no direct comment was provided on its condition. Another reviewer mentioned not getting cable TV but having "plenty of stations" available over-the-air with an antenna, indicating that while cable might not be guaranteed, local television reception is possible.
The availability of phone contact, both a local number ((954) 983-8225) and a mobile number (+1 954-983-8225), allows potential visitors to directly inquire about specific amenities, site sizes, and any concerns regarding the location or neighborhood.
Key Features: Urban Access, Friendly Service, Potential Space Constraints
The most significant feature of Hollywood KOA is its location within the city of Hollywood, providing easy access to urban amenities and attractions. This is a key differentiator from campgrounds located in more remote or natural areas. The friendly and helpful staff also stand out as a positive feature, contributing to a satisfactory guest experience despite other potential limitations.
However, the limited site sizes and the overall tight layout of the campground are important features to consider, especially for those with larger RVs. Navigating the campground and maneuvering large vehicles might be challenging. Additionally, the surrounding neighborhood, described by one reviewer as "shady looking," is a factor that some local users might find concerning, although another reviewer reported no issues.
The upgrade to a pull-thru site mentioned in one review highlights the potential for accommodating different RV sizes and preferences, but availability might vary.
Promotional Information and Local Appeal
As part of the KOA network, Hollywood KOA may participate in KOA's membership program and offer discounts or rewards to KOA members. Local users who are KOA members should inquire about any applicable benefits. Additionally, the campground might have its own seasonal rates or special offers. Interested local users are encouraged to contact them directly via the provided phone numbers or check the official KOA website for any current promotions.
The appeal of Hollywood KOA to local users likely depends on their priorities. For those who value easy access to the city and its conveniences over spacious campsites and a secluded natural environment, Hollywood KOA could be a suitable option. It might serve as a convenient base for exploring local attractions, visiting family or friends in the area, or simply enjoying a short camping stay without traveling far from home.
Why Consider Hollywood KOA for Your Local Camping Needs?
If you are a local resident seeking a "camping near me" experience in Hollywood, Florida, that prioritizes urban accessibility and friendly service, Hollywood KOA is worth considering. Its location offers convenient access to the city's amenities and attractions. However, it is essential to be aware of the potential limitations regarding site size and the surrounding neighborhood, as highlighted in recent user reviews.
For RV owners, especially those with larger rigs, it would be prudent to inquire about site sizes and ease of maneuverability within the campground. Tent campers should also consider the proximity to RV sites and potential noise. While the staff seems to be a strong positive, local users should weigh the convenience of the urban location against the potential drawbacks of limited space and the surrounding area.
To make an informed decision, local users are encouraged to contact Hollywood KOA directly at (954) 983-8225 or +1 954-983-8225 to ask specific questions about site availability, sizes, amenities, and any concerns regarding the location. Weigh the pros and cons based on your individual needs and preferences to determine if Hollywood KOA is the right "camping near me" option for your local getaway.

Hollywood KOA Reviews
We only stayed one night coming thru to Key West, I would not have wanted to stay any longer. Positive note: it was quieter at night than I expected. The customer service was good. We were upgraded to a pullthru site which was very helpful. The cons: location, site size. Our RV GPS directions getting there led us down some tight, low tree branch areas, not ideal. The campground is literally squeezed between a shady looking neighborhood, I did not feel safe. My dog was almost attacked by a large , unleashed dog walking thru the campground. Luckily, the owner was able to grab it.
May 01, 2025 · Pam SnyderI was worried because of the reviews, but this place was very acceptable. This campground was in town which made access to the city easy. The downside is that it’s very tight, I don’t know how the big rigs manage it. The staff was friendly and helpful. I did not use the bath house, so can’t comment on it. I was a bit worried about the location because I knew nothing of the area, but so no issues whatsoever. My camper is a 25 ft travel trailer and I managed quite well. I did see fifth wheels and class A’s there. I didn’t get any cable, but plenty of stations were available OTA with the antenna.
Jan 20, 2025 · Mark RinehartThe reviews worried me as well, but this isn't a bad place to stay for a few days. Ya, it's not a resort. Plus, there really isn't much of an alternative in the area besides TY park which is always full, and another KOA a few miles away with the same rating. The lady in the office was very nice and accommodating, we have full hookup and that is what matters
Mar 14, 2025 · Eric JodoinYes it’s a little tight getting around, but doable. RV parks in the city are practically non-existent so we didn’t expect wide open spaces. This was perfect for our 2 night stay - we were traveling with our dog to visit family at the beach. The staff was very friendly, the bathrooms were locked and clean, the camp store was well stocked, and there were laundry facilities but we did not need to utilize. The sites had patios with nice furniture, a fire pit and a grill. The dog relief area was pretty small and had bags and a waste receptacle, but I left the park anyway to give the dog a little more walk time. My husband stepped in dog crap right by our spot but KOA can’t be held responsible idiots who feel they are above following rules and don’t care about anyone else. Don’t be afraid of negative reviews. This place is perfectly fine.
Feb 25, 2025 · Julie WallinThe office staff was nice, lots of shopping is nearby, we had a nice patio, no noise from trains or planes and no noisy neighbors. But, the sites are very tight, the garbage dumpster was overflowing with at least 100 bags on the ground surrounding the bin, and there were zero amenities like a pool or WiFi. $110 a night was way too much for what you getThe traffic is atrocious anywhere you go. The locals seem to think that traffic laws are just a suggestion, not needed to be followed. It takes forever just to go a few miles. The Hollywood Beach and Boardwalk is worth a visit.
