Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA Holiday Introduce
For local residents in the Davie and Fort Lauderdale areas seeking "camping near me" or "RV parks near me," the Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA Holiday, located at 3800 SW 142nd Ave, Davie, FL 33309, USA, presents a well-known option under the Kampgrounds of America (KOA) brand. KOA campgrounds are generally recognized for providing a range of amenities and services catering to both tent campers and RV travelers. However, recent customer reviews offer a mixed perspective, particularly highlighting ongoing renovations in early 2025 that local users should be aware of when considering a stay.
The "environment" of the Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA Holiday is described as a "nice place" by one reviewer, although another less favorable review likened it to a "fancy trailer park" with "dirty gravel" sites. This discrepancy suggests that the aesthetic and feel of the campground might be subjective and that site conditions could vary. The mention of renovations indicates that the environment is currently in a state of change, potentially impacting the visual appeal during early 2025. While the long-term goal of these renovations is likely to enhance the campground, potential visitors in the near term should be prepared for the possibility of construction activity and its associated visual and auditory impacts. The proximity to Fort Lauderdale suggests an urban or suburban setting, providing convenient access to city amenities but potentially lacking the secluded natural ambiance of more remote campgrounds.
In terms of "services," the Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA Holiday appears to offer a range of amenities typical of KOA campgrounds. One positive aspect highlighted in a review is that the "restrooms and showers are well maintained and cleaned every day." The reviewer also noted that the "shower house is new" or recently updated, offering decent-sized and clean facilities, with separate restrooms from the showers. This suggests a commitment to hygiene and modern facilities in this area. The campground also features a "pool," although it "shows a little age." Despite this, the area around the pool "appears to be recently updated," indicating ongoing efforts to improve the recreational facilities. A notable service mentioned is a "Saturday pancake breakfast for free, pool side," which offers a social opportunity and a complimentary meal for guests. While one negative review mentioned unhelpful staff, the other review did not corroborate this, focusing instead on the physical amenities. As a KOA Holiday location, it is likely that other standard KOA services are available, such as laundry facilities, a camp store, and potentially planned activities, although these are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews.
The "features" of the Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA Holiday are somewhat mixed based on the recent feedback. The ongoing "renovation" is a significant feature that potential visitors in early 2025 must consider, as it may lead to visual disruptions and construction noise. However, this also suggests future improvements to the campground. The "well maintained and cleaned" restrooms and showers, particularly the seemingly new shower house, are a positive feature. The presence of a "pool" and the "free Saturday pancake breakfast" add to the recreational and social aspects of the campground. One reviewer noted that the "sites are a little close together and a little small," which might be a drawback for those seeking more spacious camping. However, they also found them "adequate for the price, i guess," suggesting a potential trade-off between space and cost. The inclusion of "electric" at the sites is mentioned, which is a standard and important feature for RVers and some tent campers. The lack of "water" at individual sites but the presence of a "water and dump site on the grounds" indicates that while direct water hookups might not be available at all sites, there is a facility for filling water tanks and for waste disposal, catering primarily to RV needs.
Currently, there is no explicit "promotional information" provided in the reviews. Local users interested in staying at the Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA Holiday are encouraged to contact them directly at the provided phone numbers, (954) 473-0231 or +1 954-473-0231, or visit the official KOA website for the most up-to-date information on rates, availability, and any ongoing specials or packages. Given the ongoing renovations in early 2025, it would be prudent to inquire about the extent and potential impact of the construction on the camping experience when making a reservation.
The contrasting reviews highlight the importance of considering different perspectives. One reviewer had a very negative initial impression, citing overpriced "dirty gravel" sites and unhelpful staff. In contrast, the other reviewer found the KOA to be a "nice place" that is "getting nicer" due to the renovations, while acknowledging the temporary visual impacts and the size of the sites. This suggests that individual experiences may vary, and the ongoing improvements might be gradually addressing some of the concerns raised. Local users who value well-maintained facilities like restrooms and showers and appreciate amenities like a pool and a free breakfast might find value in staying here, despite the ongoing construction and potentially close-knit sites.
For local residents specifically looking for "camping near me" or "RV parks near me" in the Davie and Fort Lauderdale area, the Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA Holiday offers a recognizable brand with a range of amenities. However, the ongoing renovations in early 2025 are a crucial factor to consider. Potential visitors should weigh the convenience of the location and the offered services against the potential for construction-related inconveniences and the reported size of the campsites. Contacting the campground directly for the latest information on the renovation progress and site availability is highly recommended to make an informed decision.
In conclusion, the Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA Holiday provides a local camping and RV option with ongoing renovations in early 2025 that are aimed at improving the facilities. While reviews present differing opinions on the current state, the campground offers well-maintained restrooms and showers, a pool, and a Saturday pancake breakfast. The sites are noted to be somewhat close together and potentially small. Local users should contact the campground directly for the most current information on the renovation status, rates, and site specifics to determine if it meets their needs for a "camping near me" or "RV parks near me" experience in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA Holiday Reviews
Good reviews paid for bad ones hidden. Pulled in and pulled right out. Low grade a fancy trailer park. Not sure what that Kerr is thinking but to over pay for some dirty gravel I’m good. Over weight staff can’t be bothered getting out of their seat to help guest when food and TV are more important.
Apr 25, 2025 · Melissa JenkinsSo this KOA is a nice place, and getting nicer. How does it get nicer? By renovation, which means construction!!! So as of early 2025, you should be warned that visually, you may have to over look a few things. It's all in the name of progress, so I can't say anything bad about what is happening, but for a possible visitor, you should know there is work being done here. The sites are a little close together and a little small, but adequate for the price, i guess. The restrooms and showers are well maintained and cleaned every day. I looks as if the shower house is new, I could be wrong, but they are well cleaned, decent size, and looks like a recent update or build on it. There are separate restrooms from the showers. It would be nice to have them all in one, but...they are steps away from each other. The pool shows a little age, but everything around it's appears to be recently updated. There is a Saturday pancake breakfast for free, pool side. All In all, I will be back anytime I'm doing something in Fort Lauderdale.
Jan 03, 2025 · Tony RobinsonWe booked this spot in advance of our upcoming cruise. When we arrived, we quickly found out there was no wifi other than in the office. I stated this would not work as I still need to be connected, they stated no refunds. They did provide me an out if I left in an hour, so we quickly packed up and were gone. I had also reserved a spot to store my camper while we were on our cruise. They called me a day before and said that was no longer an option, leaving us high and dry after previously assuring us we could still use the storage area. Not a way to run a business that wants people to return. KOA should no longer associate with campgrounds like this one.
Jan 25, 2025 · Joel FridayGod Bless Amber for her excellent customer service skills and willingness to help. We arrived to our campsite in Big Cypress to find one other camper, who informed us he was robbed there. We desperately needed a SAFE campsite near the Everglades, and Amber got us into one before sunset. She is a true asset to her employer. Good job KOA!
Apr 10, 2025 · Stephanie DinesBeautiful RV sites with cement patios, outdoor furniture, table, firepit and lighting. Pool was heated and heavenly for November! The hookups were all new fixtures. Plenty of area for dogs, and a beautiful park next to and across the street with miles of trails! The managers and staff made our stay the best! They quickly became friends! Looking forward to returning.
