Indian Springs Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Hickory, NC area? Indian Springs Campground, located at 4361 Whitener Dr, Hickory, NC 28602, USA, offers a range of amenities and a seemingly pleasant environment. You can reach them at (828) 397-5700 or their mobile number +1 828-397-5700 to inquire about availability and their policies. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences appear to vary, with some praising the location and amenities while others have raised concerns, particularly regarding pricing for overflow spots without full hookups and pet policies.
One reviewer described the campground as a "great place!" highlighting the presence of "a river nearby for a swim, laundry facility with indoor activities, basketball, horse shoe, ping-pong table, and more!" This suggests a variety of recreational opportunities available to guests. Another reviewer found "This little slice of paradise" to be "only 15 minutes away from Hickory, is peaceful, and well maintained." These comments paint a picture of a conveniently located, serene, and well-kept campground with appealing amenities.
The campground also offers practical features such as "Water, electric, and sewer hook ups," as well as both "Back-in and pull-throughs available," catering to different types of camping setups. Additionally, "Fire pit and picnic table available" at the sites enhance the traditional camping experience. An extra note mentions that "the pond is great for bird watching and enjoying the dragonflies," indicating a natural attraction for those who appreciate wildlife.
However, one detailed review presents a contrasting experience, particularly concerning pricing and pet policies. This reviewer mentioned being charged "$275 A WEEK" for an overflow spot lacking sewer hookups, which they found to be an "outrageous" price. The primary issue raised was regarding their "pocket bully" dog. Despite initially being told their dog was allowed, they were later informed upon departure that the dog was not permitted due to the "bully in her name." The reviewer expressed disappointment and felt the campground was "non accommodating" regarding their well-trained and non-barking dog, especially in light of the pricing. They also noted seeing larger dogs in the campground's pictures. This review suggests that potential guests with certain dog breeds should verify the pet policy directly with the campground.
Environment: The environment of Indian Springs Campground appears to be a significant positive aspect for many visitors. Indian Springs Campground Reviews
My husband has been there for a little over a month. I have been looking forward to our dog and myself joining him and finally taking advantage of the amenities it has to offer. That was shortly lived. The only site that has been available since he has been there was an overflow spot, which doesn’t offer sewer hookups but that didn’t stop them from charging us $275 A WEEK. We have not complained a bit about the outrageous prices until now. Here lies my problem, we have a pocket bully and she is the most lovable and very well trained dog, she doesn’t even bark unless it’s a dire emergency. My husband asked if they would allow her at the campground and they said yes, so he paid for another week. Yesterday when we were pulling out to come, they informed him that she wasn’t allowed because of the bully in her name. I honestly wished people would educate themselves and quit being so prejudice or at least have a meet and greet before judging our baby. Especially when we haven’t been so judging this entire time they have been ripping us off. 365 days a year we are at campgrounds and believe me I will tell everyone I know or meet about how non accommodating they are. If anyone is looking for a more pet friendly place, check out rose Creek Family campground, I know we definitely are going to.Update: once again she is a BULLY not a Pit. She IS a small dog, there are much larger dogs in the pictures for there campground. Nevertheless I hope yall sleep well while taking advantage of workers who come from all over to help your community recover from the hurricane. Have a blessed day.

Aug 30, 2024 · Kathryn ClyburnVery nice and clean, small, campground off I-40. Pull through, full hookups, and level site. Staff and owners extremely nice. Would stay here again. Road is a little narrow to campground but manageable.
Jul 19, 2024 · Cindy EWe stayed at Indian Springs May 7 through the 12th. At first, I was a little skeptical because it appears that they are some full-timers there, but after talking with Gina, she was very helpful with any needs that I had. If you’re looking for a nice place to stay that is close to Hickory. This is the perfect spot. The grounds are well-maintained and very pretty. I didn’t have to use the washer and dryer accessories that were available because I had them In my motorhome. The area Is quiet and people keep to themselves. They did have Thursday night church services, which was very nice. So if looking for an RV park, that is quiet and quaint this is a great place.Ernurse
May 15, 2024 · Ernurse pFirst of all there are no rooms. This is a campground. The lots are not big, like some parks, but they aren't crammed together like some parks. There's a trail down to the river that looks like it would be perfect for the kids in summer. Very convenient to Hickory. Close to the interstate, but far enough away to not be noisy. Gina was awesome squeezing me into an overflow spot for the weekend. She saved me a lot of driving or a hotel room. No bathrooms or shower house. A cute little laundry room, if you have plenty of time. Nice little area for the kids to play, too.
