Joemma Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" that combines natural beauty with affordability in the Longbranch, Washington area? Joemma Campground, situated within Joemma Beach State Park at 65GR+2X, Longbranch, WA 98349, USA, offers a charming and well-maintained camping experience along the Puget Sound. While specific contact information like a phone number is not provided in the available data, its location within a state park suggests that reservations and information can likely be obtained through the Washington State Parks system.
Based on customer reviews, Joemma Campground is described as "cute and average to good overall," indicating a pleasant and generally satisfactory camping destination. Its prime location within Joemma Beach State Park is a significant draw, placing campers amidst the natural splendor of the Puget Sound. The campground is nestled among tall Douglas fir trees, interspersed with the distinctive Pacific madronas, creating a picturesque woodland setting.
A key feature of Joemma Campground is its proximity to a beach, which is just a short walk from the campsites. This pebble beach offers opportunities for relaxation, beachcombing, and enjoying the coastal scenery. Adding to its appeal are a fishing pier and a boat dock, providing access for fishing and potentially for launching small watercraft. While one reviewer's fishing experience from the pier yielded only small sculpins rather than flounder, the presence of these structures still enhances the recreational possibilities for campers.
It's important to note that, according to one reviewer, "most camping sites do not really have a view of the Puget Sound." Therefore, while the campground is located along the Sound, campers should not necessarily expect water views directly from their individual sites. However, the short walk to the beach ensures that the scenic beauty of the Puget Sound is easily accessible to all campers.
The reviewer also pointed out some practical considerations regarding the campsites themselves. They mentioned that "some spots for tents are too small for a large tent" and that "some spots for tents and picnic tables are leveled very approximately. ;)" This suggests that tent campers, particularly those with larger tents, should inquire about site dimensions when making reservations to ensure a comfortable fit. Additionally, a degree of unevenness in some tent sites and picnic table areas might require a bit of adjustment upon arrival.
What truly distinguishes Joemma Campground, according to the reviewer, is its exceptional maintenance. They emphasized that "everything, including the camping sites and the restrooms, is VERY clean." This high standard of cleanliness is a significant advantage, contributing to a more enjoyable and comfortable camping experience for all visitors. The reviewer specifically commended the staff, stating that they "definitely care about the order and cleanliness of the campground" and expressed gratitude for their excellent work.
Another significant benefit of camping at Joemma Campground is its affordability. The reviewer noted that "camping at this place is very inexpensive," making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers and local users seeking an affordable "camping near me" experience. This combination of a pleasant natural setting and low cost adds considerable value to a stay at Joemma Campground.
The pebble beach associated with the campground is also highlighted for typically not being crowded. The reviewer shared their experience of being the only people on the beach for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon, suggesting a peaceful and uncrowded coastal environment. This tranquility can be a major draw for those seeking a relaxing escape from more bustling areas.
Considering the category "camping near me," Joemma Campground offers a compelling option for local residents of the Longbranch and surrounding areas. Its location within Joemma Beach State Park provides access to the natural beauty of the Puget Sound, including a pebble beach, fishing pier, and boat dock. The setting among tall Douglas firs and Pacific madronas creates a classic Pacific Northwest camping ambiance.
While some tent sites may be small or uneven, the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the campground are consistently praised. The dedicated staff plays a crucial role in ensuring a pleasant experience for visitors. The affordability of camping at Joemma Campground makes it an accessible option for families and individuals looking for an inexpensive coastal getaway.
As Joemma Campground is part of the Washington State Parks system, potential local users can likely find more information about reservations, fees, specific campsite details, and any park regulations on the official Washington State Parks website. This would be the best resource for planning a camping trip to Joemma Campground and ensuring a site that meets their specific needs, especially regarding tent size and site levelness.
In conclusion, Joemma Campground offers a charming and affordable "camping near me" experience within the scenic Joemma Beach State Park on the Puget Sound. Its clean facilities, proximity to a beach with recreational amenities, and beautiful natural setting among tall trees make it an attractive destination for local campers. While some campsites may have limitations in size or levelness, the overall positive aspects, particularly the cleanliness and low cost, make Joemma Campground a worthwhile consideration for your next coastal camping adventure.

Joemma Campground Reviews
The campground itself is cute and average to good overall. It is located in the Joemma Beach State Park, over the Puget Sound, among tall Douglas fir trees intermixed with Pacific madronas, within a short walk of a beach with a fishing pier and boat dock. Most camping sites do not really have a view of the Puget Sound. Some spots for tents are too small for a large tent. Some spots for tents and picnic tables are leveled very approximately. ;) What really distinguishes this campground from many others is how well it is maintained. Everything, including the camping sites and the restrooms, is VERY clean. The staff definitely cares about the order and cleanliness of the campground. Many thanks to these people for doing such a great job! Camping at this place is very inexpensive, and the pebble beach is typically not crowded at all. In fact, we were the only people on the beach for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon. My daughter and I tried to fish from the pier, but there was no flounder – just small sculpins.
