Keyser Pond Campground Introduce
Looking for a peaceful and friendly "camping near me" experience in the scenic surroundings of New Hampshire? Consider Keyser Pond Campground, located at 1739 Old Concord Rd, Henniker, NH 03242, USA. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground offers a charming and low-key atmosphere with a variety of accommodation options, including cozy cabins and nice wooded campsites, making it an appealing choice for a relaxing getaway.
One of the standout features of Keyser Pond Campground is the exceptional hospitality of the host and staff. Reviewers consistently praise their responsiveness, helpfulness, and friendly demeanor. Even during the off-season, the host went above and beyond to provide information, engage in conversation, and offer assistance with practical needs such as firewood and even a ball for children to play with. This level of personal attention can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, making guests feel welcomed and cared for.
For those seeking cabin accommodations, Keyser Pond Campground offers "cute" little cabins, some of which are located near the front of the property. These cabins provide a comfortable alternative to traditional tent camping, offering a cozy interior and a charming exterior. They appear to be well-suited for families, as one reviewer mentioned their children enjoying the cabin. While specific amenities within the cabins aren't detailed, the positive description suggests a comfortable and inviting space.
Families with children will find several appealing features at Keyser Pond Campground. A playground and swings are available, providing entertainment and opportunities for kids to burn off energy. The presence of these dedicated play areas makes the campground a family-friendly destination.
The location of Keyser Pond Campground is also convenient for those planning activities at nearby attractions, such as Pat's Peak. Its proximity makes it a suitable base for individuals or families visiting the area for skiing, snowboarding, or other seasonal activities offered at Pat's Peak.
Repeat visitors are a strong testament to the quality of a campground, and one reviewer mentioned that their recent stay was even better than their enjoyable experience the previous year. This indicates a consistent commitment to providing a positive guest experience and potentially ongoing improvements to the facilities and services.
The campground itself is described as "small," which often contributes to a more intimate and quieter atmosphere compared to larger, resort-style campgrounds. The availability of "nice wooded sites" appeals to those who appreciate camping in a natural, shaded environment. These sites likely offer a sense of privacy and immersion in the surrounding woods.
Cleanliness is a crucial aspect of any campground, and Keyser Pond Campground receives positive feedback in this regard, with reviewers specifically mentioning "clean bathrooms." This is an essential amenity that contributes significantly to the comfort and satisfaction of campers.
The friendly staff extends beyond the host, with one reviewer recounting how the owner personally helped them back their camper into a "tricky site." This willingness to assist guests, even with practical challenges, underscores the campground's commitment to customer service.
The overall atmosphere of Keyser Pond Campground is described as "quiet, low key, no frills." This is ideal for campers who are seeking a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of more amenity-rich resorts. The emphasis is on a relaxed and natural camping experience rather than elaborate facilities or organized activities.
A significant amenity is the pond and beach area, which is described as "clean" and "perfect" for young children to swim and play. Having a natural water feature with a beach provides a wonderful recreational opportunity for families, allowing for swimming, wading, and enjoying the waterfront.
For convenience, the campground has a "great little office store" stocked with essentials. This allows campers to easily purchase necessities without having to leave the campground, adding to the overall convenience of the stay.
Adding to the amenities, Keyser Pond Campground has a "new playground structure," indicating ongoing investment in facilities for children. They also offer the convenience of "food trucks" on-site, providing an option for meals if campers prefer not to cook or want a break from camp cooking.
The only notable negative mentioned in the reviews is "highway noise." However, the reviewer acknowledges that this is beyond the campground's control and notes that it "wasn't even that bad." While some noise from a nearby highway might be present, it didn't significantly detract from the overall positive experience, especially for those whose campsites were further from the road or who prioritized the other appealing aspects of the campground.
The availability of waterfront campsites, offering "views of the beautiful sunset," is another significant draw. Camping right on the water provides a picturesque setting and the opportunity to enjoy stunning natural views directly from your campsite.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in Henniker, New Hampshire, Keyser Pond Campground offers a charming and welcoming option with its cozy cabins, nice wooded sites, clean pond and beach, friendly staff, and quiet atmosphere. Keyser Pond Campground Reviews
We stayed a few days at the Keyser Pond Campground in one of the little cabins near the front of the front of the property. It was the end of the winter season, so mostly the campground activities were shut down. However the host was very responsive in providing information, conversation, and odds and ends (like firewood and a ball for the kids to play with). The cabin is cute inside and out, and the kids enjoyed the playground and swings. Conveniently located for some lessons at Pat's Peak. Would stay again, and recommend to friends!
Mar 27, 2025 · Matthew GentThis is our second time staying at Keyser pond. We booked last year and while we enjoyed our stay, this year was even better. The campground, while small, offers nice wooded sites, clean bathrooms, friendly staff ( the owner helped us back our camper into a tricky site) and a quiet , low key, no frills atmosphere. This place isn’t fancy. It’s not one of those resort style places, but we were not looking for that. The pond / beach area was clean, and perfect for our three year old to swim and play. They had a great little office store stocked with essentials. They had a new playground structure and offered food trucks for something to eat if we wanted. I’d say the only negative was the highway noise, but obviously, something like that is beyond their control, and it wasn’t even that bad. We loved our site, which was right on the water. It offered views of the beautiful sunset!! We will be back.
Jul 13, 2024 · Erin DignardCan't say enough amazing things about this campground. The staff and seasonal campers made us feel at home. Quiet and relaxing was on our agenda for our vacation and couldn't have pictured a better place. Extremely clean, well maintained grounds, nicely stocked shop for all last minute items, kayak rentals, swimming, games and more. Highly recommend and we will most certainly be returning.
Jul 22, 2024 · Patrick TacoCouldn’t enjoy the weekend too busy worried about tripping on the open water lines and Live Wires crossing to the bathroom. Nice residents across the water front.. Friendly staff in the office.. Owner has cheap on his shoulder . Needs to go back to school and learn customer service skills ..
Jun 02, 2024 · Michael HarveyWe love Keyser Pond!! Just finished our third annual trip here, renting one of their dog-friendly on-site RVs, and had a wonderful time yet again. Already booked for next summer ☺️The owners and staff are wonderful, the seasonal folks are friendly, there are always weekend activities for kids AND adults, good swimming and fishing, and their rec center is outstanding — Especially if you happen to get rain while there!Other reviews have mentioned road noise since the location is right along Rt 202 but in a camper we don’t notice it and while at the beach, we don’t care! The place is clean, fun, friendly, affordable, and no-frills and we love it. Looking forward to next year!!
