Lake Myers Campground Introduce
Looking for a "camping near me" experience in the Mocksville, North Carolina area? Lake Myers Campground, situated at 2862 US-64, Mocksville, NC 27028, USA, offers a range of amenities and a lakeside setting that has garnered varied reactions from visitors. You can reach them for inquiries or reservations at (888) 361-1731 or their mobile number +1 888-361-1731.
The environment of Lake Myers Campground is a significant aspect to consider. One positive review described the campground as "beautiful" with an "astounding" view of the lake. This suggests that the natural setting around Lake Myers could be a major draw for those seeking a scenic camping experience. The availability of kayaks and canoes for use further emphasizes the potential for enjoying the lake environment. However, a contrasting recent review paints a different picture. This visitor, who had fond memories of the campground from visits in the 1990s and 2000s, was "shocked" by the changes they observed. They described the campground as resembling a "camper trailer park" with many apparently annual sites that were "mostly junked up and not taken care of." This reviewer lamented that their potential view would have been a "run down camper" and piles of debris, indicating a possible decline in the overall aesthetic and upkeep of some areas.
In terms of services and features, Lake Myers Campground appears to offer a variety of amenities. One positive review mentioned a "putt putt golf course on site, a Cafe, clubhouse, store, and 3 pools." These facilities suggest that the campground aims to provide entertainment and convenience for its guests. The availability of a cafe and store can be particularly beneficial for campers seeking on-site food and supplies. The presence of three pools indicates ample opportunity for recreation and relaxation during warmer months. Furthermore, the availability of kayaks and canoes suggests that guests can directly engage with Lake Myers for water-based activities. However, the more recent negative review noted that the "putt putt is run down bad carpet lifted and torn," indicating that at least some of these amenities may not be well-maintained.
The features of a campground often cater to different types of campers. The mention of annual sites in the negative review suggests that Lake Myers Campground accommodates long-term residents in addition to short-term visitors. While this can foster a sense of community, the reviewer's observation that many of these sites appeared "junked up and not taken care of" raises concerns about the overall atmosphere and visual appeal of the campground. The positive review mentioning friendly and communicative residents suggests a welcoming social environment, at least in some parts of the campground or during certain times.
Customer experiences at Lake Myers Campground seem to be divided. One visitor who was there to inquire about campers for sale had a positive interaction with the staff, describing them as "kind and very informative." They also noted the friendliness of the residents. This positive interaction with staff is a crucial aspect of customer service. However, the stark contrast with the more recent camping experience is concerning. The long-time visitor who decided to leave without staying cited the deteriorated condition of the campground, the prevalence of poorly maintained long-term sites, and the discrepancy between the current state and the older pictures on the website. They ultimately concluded that the campground "needs a makeup" and should be "removed from the encore list." The positive feedback regarding the staff during check-in, mentioned by the disappointed returning visitor, provides a glimmer of consistent positive service, but it was not enough to overcome the negative impressions of the physical condition of the campground.
Promotional information for Lake Myers Campground is not included in the provided text. Therefore, details about any special offers, discounts, or packages are unavailable. In summary, Lake Myers Campground in Mocksville, NC, offers a lakeside setting and a range of amenities, including pools, a cafe, a store, and recreational activities like putt-putt golf and watercraft rentals. While some visitors have praised its beauty, friendly staff, and community atmosphere, more recent feedback indicates a potential decline in the campground's maintenance and overall condition, particularly concerning the appearance of long-term sites and the upkeep of amenities. Potential visitors searching for "camping near me" should consider these contrasting experiences and perhaps seek more current reviews or directly inquire with the campground about the present state of its facilities and grounds before making a reservation. The significant difference in experiences over time suggests that the campground may have undergone changes that could impact the quality of a stay.

People who reside there were also friendly and communicative. The campground itself was beautiful, vvery clean. There is a putt putt golf course on site , a Cafe, clubhouse, store , and 3 pools . The view of the lake was astounding , and they have kayaks/canoes for use. Overall a pleasant experience and a beautiful place
Feb 24, 2025 · Beth HawleyWent to this campground as a older kid and loved it back around 1990 visited again around 2000 as an adult and loved it 24 years later made a reservation, checked in, drove through , located campsite, and pulled right on out of there… we could not stay… I’m so shocked that they call this campground an encore campground… wow how it has changed… honestly it looks like a camper trailer park… most of the sites are apparently annual sites… they are mostly junked up and not taken care of… our view would have been a run down camper that looks likes it been there for 30 years and a couple massive piles of sticks and old furniture that’s not in use and old wheel barrels piled up… I was so looking forward to camping here after all the great memories I had 20 plus years ago but it is really junked up and run down… all the pictures they have on website are old… the putt putt is run down bad carpet lifted and torn… campground needs a makeup…needs to be removed from the encore list unfortunately… so sad and disappointing…my husband did say the staff that checked him in was very nice
Mar 09, 2025 · Kimberly DaleThe office lady is a total nightmare. Only time she was nice to us is when we first got here and that’s only cause her manager was behind her. Now that the manager is on vacation Alicia is SO RUDE. My husband went to the office to get our propane tanks filled. She was so rude and told him to wait in the truck for maintenance, then she went to lunch and never even called them!! He ended up taking the tanks somewhere else. I loved this place at first. We were looking into staying annually!! It’s sad that one person can totally ruin it. There are so many deserving people that would LOVE to have a job like Alicia. Including myself!! And Alicia if you ever see this I hope you can learn to greet people with kindness and compassion. You should be smiling and welcoming every person that comes through that door. Aside from that everyone else living here is really nice. The maintenance guys are awesome as well as the housekeeper. The manager was so sweet in trying to get us booked longer. Kudos to Sam as well for hooking us up with firewood! But 2 stars is all I have considering the one person running the place clearly hates her job.
Nov 24, 2024 · C SHUGE BEES NEST, in the ground, right outside our door! No internet as listed, and I was there on a work vacation. Only 14 channels available out of 40 something listed. Could not get in gate and there was nobody there to help. Toilet not bolted correctly so it wobbled. Overall, service was awful !!!!!
Apr 24, 2025 · Donna HarrisThis campground is extremely dated. The "golf course" looked as if it hadn't been touched in decades. The pool decking is all old and flaking. Pool is not blue. Many many permanent residents. People where nice. But not as shown in pictures and campsites are small and hard to get too. Had to leave campground and go around to go to the pool. Definitely not as the websites portrays. Was the July 16 -18th.
