Lakeside Campground Reviews
We stayed here for a week while my husband was working in Spiritwood, and it was exactly what we wanted out of a campground. The restrooms/showers were relatively clean, fire pits and picnic tables were at every site, and there was someone from the neighborhood that delivered firewood for $5/bundle. We stayed in a cabin, which was furnished with beds, an AC unit, and a fridge. The location was excellent too, right next to the Jamestown reservoir, and there were some lovely trails nearby. It did get a little noisy being so close to a main road, but that didn't make our stay any less enjoyable. The campground hosts were also very kind and accommodating!
Sep 04, 2024 · Lilah RichardsonWe prefer to stay here until this last time. They had a new park host and she was a complete Karen her husband is super sweet which I believe is the real park host. He came and talked to us fine but she came right behind him and started screaming and yelling at my family until I stepped in. She refused to let my kids drive our golf cart around camp then refused to let anyone use it. She followed my 9 year old son to the shower and told him he was taking too long (I have 2 boys who are commonly mistaken for twins). After this time we will no longer stay here.
Sep 04, 2024 · Jessica CepedaOverall - we were very satisfied with our stay! We stayed during the week (in the middle of July - Monday/Tuesday), and the campground was quite quiet. There may have been 5 other campers onsite. The camp host was nowhere to be found - which would be our only complaint. Due to this, we ended up moving sites without letting them know (non issue, as the campground itself was quite open). The playground was well kept and worked perfectly for our kiddos (2, 5, and 6) and they LOVED playing there. The black flies were atrocious...they were everywhere. If you could contain this - I'd say that would take me from 4 to 5 stars!Site was a back in site, many of them had decently placed hookups, our original site however - the hookups were in the back of the camper (but our camper had them placed in the middle) and they were located in another campers - site. Due to the inconvenience - we shifted sites.Sites were mostly shaded too, which was wonderful. We did not head over to the lake, but drove by. It was really close and from afar looked nice!
Sep 06, 2023 · Erika H.We stayed at this Campground over Memorial Weekend. We came in pretty late hoping to get some firewood to cook over. The camp ground had no wood on site (i believe they do not stock it). Very disappointing, went to bed early.Hoping that with the early bed time due to the lack of fuel for a fire, I awoke to the sound of dogs barking and yipping. Around 7:30am.I immediately got out of bed and continued to listen to dogs bark for over 2hrs. I even saw the caretaker talk to the tenants about something else random, the whole time the barking continued. Finally my partner awoke and went over asked the guests to do something about their animal. (they put it in the camper, away from other dogs it could see).Overall would not recommend just based on my personal experience. You would think that the caretaker would have asked the owners to look after the pet and not relied on other campers to enforce basic common sense.Unfortunately common sense isn't to common these days.
May 27, 2024 · Preston WA nice little county operated campground with very basic gravel back-in sites, fire rings, picnic tables and studio cabins. They also offer a large playground and a clean toilet/shower block. We arrived on the second open day of the season so the park was empty and there were still a lot of downed branches and none of the picnic tables were set up, which wasn’t a big deal. The biggest issue we had is that a majority of the electrical stands were between 20-50 feet from the actual back in site and were, in many instances, on the wrong side of the rig. There are a limited number of 50 amp sites and the only one that the electrical stand was within reach of our cable was site 25. We were very thankful that the park was empty and that we could drive the circle several times to find a site that our cable would reach. For the original site we booked online we would have needed an extra 25-30’ of extension.
