Mel Rieman Campground and Recreation Area Reviews
Nice camping spot. Bathrooms were ok but had some odor because the type of bathroom. Water access, fire pit, and power access. Accessible camp host. Boat ramp access with dock for fishing and cleaning board. Very good separation between sites. We will come here again.
Jul 17, 2024 · Marquis SmithBeautiful, small campground right on Lake Ashtabula. Didn't use restrooms or showers, so can't comment on them. Nice area to walk our fur babies and enjoy the outdoors.
Aug 01, 2020 · Marilyn MalousekGreat place, no fish in lake, I spent 4 hours fishing and caught nothing.
Apr 30, 2025 · Marc DinwiddieFull disclosure, I am biased because I grew up camping on Lake Ashtabula and Mel Rieman. However, I think anyone with a tent all the way up to a mega RV would enjoy what this campground has to offer. A huge beach, clean facilities and a friendly camp host for starters. Add a nice boat ramp with fish cleaning facilities and plenty of open water for fishing, tubing/water skiing and swimming. The Hungry Pelican offers treats and beverages for both young and old, pontoon rentals and more. Don't even think twice. Book your stay at Mel Reiman Recreation Area. You won't be disappointed.
Jun 19, 2022 · Rod GrafingThis is my favorite campground. The bathrooms are clean and the sites are nice. Most of them are shady and pretty level. The hosts are very nice and the little shop down by the lake is a great place to get ice cream and firewood. We come here dozens of times in the summer.
