West Ashtabula Crossing Campground Reviews
I post this early July 2024> TWO STAR RATING? Read on why we chose that.* AMG Construction of California won the bid of $244,000 in April 2023 to update the park.* AMG completed the project early July 2024 and overall it looks like a rush job.* New too soft material (class 5? or?) on several site pads causes tire ruts and leveling problems.* Several sites are steeply sloped making leveling impossible, it's been like this since the 1960's: Why?* THREE Camping Areas: only TWO have Concrete Outhouses.* U.S. Army Core Of Engineers (COE) and AMG: where's the "engineering" aspect here?* New 30 amp and 50 amp electrics have been installed in all three camping areas: Nice.* Dump station on site.* Outhouse we used was clean with plenty of TP.* No showers here. Showers are across the lake at the East Crossing campground.* There is one water tap in each of the three camping areas.* Host was affable, aka friendly.* Lake views from only a few of the 30 sites.> Close to a quarter million dollars of work done by a California company: overall, a disappointment.

Aug 25, 2019 · Krishna KunduGreat campground, alcohol is allowed on the west side, but not east, fantastic swimming beach and playground on east side. Resort across the highway has a nice restaurant and convenience store with fair prices.
