Are you looking for a peaceful and convenient camping experience in North Dakota? If you're searching for "camping near me," consider the delightful Glenfield City Park Campground. Situated in Glenfield, North Dakota, this campground offers a range of amenities and a welcoming environment for both RV and tent campers. Let's delve into what makes Glenfield City Park Campground a great choice for your next outdoor adventure.
Environment: A Tranquil City Park Setting
Glenfield City Park Campground is nestled within the broader Glenfield City Park, providing a relaxed and accessible outdoor setting. The terrain is generally flat with open spaces, making it easy to set up camp and move around. While specific details about natural features like forests or water bodies within the immediate campground area are limited, its location within a city park suggests a well-maintained and community-oriented atmosphere. You can expect a blend of open grassy areas and potentially some shade from trees within the park.
Based on available information, the campground is open year-round, offering camping opportunities in different seasons. However, it's always wise to check for any seasonal closures or specific considerations for different times of the year. Reviews mention it as a "clean, quiet, and green camping area," indicating a pleasant and well-kept environment for visitors.
Services and Amenities: Essential Comforts
Glenfield City Park Campground provides several essential services to ensure a comfortable stay:
- Water Hook-up: Some campsites are equipped with water hook-ups, a significant convenience for RV campers and those wanting easy access to water.
- Electricity: The campground offers electricity, including 30 amp service at some sites and even a 50 amp service at one location. This allows RVers to power their appliances and devices.
- Restrooms: Restroom facilities are available for campers' convenience. While showers are not explicitly mentioned in all sources, the presence of restrooms is a basic necessity catered to.
- Playground: For families camping with children, the on-site playground provides a space for kids to play and enjoy the outdoors.
- Dump Station: For RV travelers, a dump station is available, making it easier to manage waste during your trip.
Some reviews also mention the availability of water at the clubhouse. While sewer hook-ups are not consistently mentioned, the presence of a dump station suggests provisions for waste disposal. It's worth noting that some older information might indicate no water or sewer at specific sites, so it's advisable to confirm the exact hook-up availability when booking or arriving.
Features: What Makes it Special?
Beyond the basic amenities, Glenfield City Park Campground has some unique features:
- Proximity to a Golf Course: Notably, the campground is located next to a 9-hole golf course. This offers a recreational opportunity for campers who enjoy golfing, with some reviews mentioning affordable daily rates.
- Community Atmosphere: Several reviews highlight the friendly nature of the local people, with some even mentioning visits from residents, offering a glimpse into the small-town hospitality.
- Donation-Based Stay: Unlike campgrounds with fixed fees, Glenfield City Park Campground often operates on a donation basis. This allows visitors to contribute to the upkeep of the park based on their experience and ability, fostering a sense of community support. However, some sources do mention a suggested daily rate, so it's good to be prepared for a small cost.
- Pet-Friendly: The campground is generally considered pet-friendly, making it a suitable option for those traveling with their furry companions.
While it might not have the extensive wilderness of a state or national park, its charm lies in its convenience, affordability, and the welcoming small-town feel.
Promotional Information and Local Appeal
For local users searching for "camping near me," Glenfield City Park Campground presents an accessible and budget-friendly option. Its location within Glenfield makes it a quick getaway for residents of the town and surrounding areas. The combination of basic amenities like electric and water hook-ups caters well to RVers looking for a stopover or a short stay. Tent campers can also enjoy the grassy and relatively flat grounds.
The presence of a playground makes it appealing to families with young children. The unique aspect of being adjacent to a golf course adds another layer of recreational activity that isn't typically found at all campgrounds.
While there isn't specific promotional material like discounts or events readily available online, the very nature of a donation-based campground can be seen as a continuous value offering. It encourages users to experience the facilities and contribute what they feel is appropriate, making it potentially more affordable than campgrounds with fixed nightly rates.

Glenfield City Park Campground Reviews
Cute little park along ND200 west. My grandma and I stopped for lunch and enjoyed the breeze and flowers in whiskey barrels. It's very clean and tidy. No kids were with us, but the playground would be fun to play on! Camping available for $10/night. Information at park. Thanks for a great lunch spot!!
Jun 27, 2024 · Chelsye BridegamGreat stop for a quick RV overnight. 2 spaces with 20amp hookups (one is falling from the post but doesn’t appear damaged). Drive through entry should leave enough space for most larger rigs to back in or out. You are parking on grass but can find a pretty level spot. Water source nearby, considering they are pumps in a park near tables I’d imagine they are potable...no signs saying either way. City requests $10 which can be mailed post-stay. Public restrooms and nice playground/park with charcoal grills.
