Clausen Springs Recreation Reviews
We camped here in the middle of the week toward the end of September. I saw one mosquito, but there were some flies. There were fly traps by our site though, so that did cut down on the flies a bit. Didn't see any wasps or bees.We did not use the public showers, playground, or picnic area at all. We didn't use the swim beach but it looks really nice and when we come back with our kids I'm sure they'll love it.We stayed at site 12 which has electricity. It was a perfect spot under maple trees right next to the spring, with beautiful bubbling sounds coming from the water. We look forward to trying out a primitive site overlooking the lake next time.Scott was very helpful when we had some reservation website issues. Very friendly guy.The hiking trail around the lake is nice, but pretty bushy in lots of places, so wear pants, but it was worth it. There is a place where the trail crosses a barbed-wire fence, so you have to climb over a little wooden device to get over. The only biking possibility is to bike on the roads through the campground, but beware it is quite hilly, so take that into consideration, depending on your ability. We fished in the lake and caught lots of little perch, and a few large-mouthed bass. The weather was perfect the whole time we were there so there was nothing to complain about. It was very beautiful and peaceful!
Sep 29, 2023 · Rebecca ELovely camping site with great bike trails with views and hills. Everything you would want, slightly spread out though to keep a very reclusive nature feel. Only downside was that the swimming lake water was black so didn't want to venture into that to cool down. The kids enjoyed the piles of sand still. Would not mind coming back to see in the water improves at that time.

Jan 19, 2019 · Christopher PeareyThis place has everything you need for a great camping experience! For only $15 you get free clean showers, nice shaded campsites that are HUGE and not close together, an entire lake to go swimming, fishing, kayaking, a playground and tons of little trails. A beautiful site for the best price. We will be coming back!
Aug 27, 2022 · Amber FischerBeautiful area, many campsites with beautiful views. Only downside was no camp host and no firewood available when the site said it would be as of June 1.
