Lakeview Campground Introduce
Looking for a convenient and picturesque camping spot in your local area? If you're searching within the 'camping near me' category, Lakeview Campground in Ozawkie, Kansas, offers a promising option for your next outdoor adventure. Situated close to the water at Ozawkie, KS 66070, USA, this campground provides a blend of natural beauty and essential amenities for both RV and tent campers. You can reach them at (785) 246-3449 or their mobile number +1 785-246-3449 for inquiries and reservations.
Based on feedback from fellow campers, the environment surrounding Lakeview Campground is undeniably "pretty" and offers the significant advantage of being "close to the water." This proximity suggests potential opportunities for water-related activities such as fishing, boating, or simply enjoying the views of the lake. The allure of a lakeside setting often includes scenic sunrises and sunsets, and a generally tranquil atmosphere that many campers seek.
The campsites themselves are described as "nice and roomy," which is a definite plus for those who appreciate having ample space to set up their tents or maneuver their RVs. Furthermore, many sites boast "great views," likely overlooking the nearby lake and the surrounding landscape. Waking up to a beautiful vista can significantly enhance the camping experience, providing a sense of connection with nature.
However, it's important to note some environmental characteristics of the campground. One reviewer pointed out that "the sites are on a hillside," which might not be immediately apparent from online photos used for reservations. This terrain could mean that some campsites are not entirely level, requiring campers to bring leveling blocks for RVs or to carefully choose tent placement for optimal comfort. While the hillside setting contributes to the potentially great views, it's a practical consideration for setup.
In terms of services and amenities, Lakeview Campground offers essential hookups for RVs, including "water and 50 amp" electrical service. However, it's crucial to note that "no sewer" hookups are mentioned in the review. RV campers planning an extended stay will need to consider this and make appropriate arrangements for waste disposal. The availability of 50 amp service is beneficial for larger RVs with significant power needs.
The campground also provides a "shower house," which one reviewer described as having a "jail house style." This description refers to the layout, with "wide open stalls, some with two shower heads in one stall, no curtains." This lack of individual privacy in the shower area is a significant factor for personal comfort and might be a concern for some campers. It's an aspect to be aware of when planning your stay.
For families with children, Lakeview Campground offers a "nice playground," which is a valuable amenity for keeping younger campers entertained. A playground provides a dedicated space for kids to burn energy and socialize, contributing to a more enjoyable experience for the whole family.
The general cleanliness of the park is also highlighted, with one reviewer stating, "Park was clean." This is an important aspect of any campground, as it contributes to a more pleasant and hygienic camping environment. A clean campground suggests that the management takes pride in maintaining the facilities for their guests.
However, another significant concern raised by a reviewer is a "spider infestation in the bathrooms." This is a potential issue that could detract from the overall camping experience, particularly for those who are uncomfortable with insects. Hopefully, the campground management is addressing this issue to ensure a more pleasant and hygienic restroom environment for all visitors.
Regarding the layout and infrastructure of the campground, one reviewer noted the absence of clear signage, stating, "No signs for one way travel or not, would hate to meet a truck and trailer going the opposite direction." This lack of directional signage could potentially lead to confusion or even safety concerns, especially for larger vehicles navigating the campground roads. Additionally, the reviewer mentioned "some tight turns for a longer 5th wheel RV," indicating that while the sites are roomy, the internal roads might present challenges for very large recreational vehicles.
Considering the 'camping near me' platform category, Lakeview Campground offers a local option with appealing features such as its proximity to the water, spacious campsites with potentially great views, and essential RV hookups (water and 50 amp). The presence of a playground makes it suitable for families. However, potential visitors should be aware of the hillside terrain and the lack of level sites, the absence of sewer hookups, the open-style shower house with limited privacy, the reported spider infestation in the bathrooms, and the potentially tight turns and lack of clear directional signs within the campground.
As there is no specific promotional information provided, the inherent appeal of Lakeview Campground lies in its lakeside location and the spaciousness of its campsites. Local users who value being near the water and having room to spread out might find this campground attractive. The availability of 50 amp service is a significant benefit for RV owners.
To make an informed decision, local users are encouraged to contact Lakeview Campground directly at the provided phone numbers ((785) 246-3449 or +1 785-246-3449) to inquire about specific site levels, sewer availability, the status of the bathroom spider issue, and any concerns regarding navigation within the campground. It would also be beneficial to ask about any recent improvements or updates to the facilities. Checking online maps or satellite views might provide a better understanding of the campground's layout and the surrounding terrain.
In conclusion, Lakeview Campground in Ozawkie, KS, offers a local camping option with notable advantages like its beautiful lakeside setting and roomy campsites with potentially scenic views. While it provides essential amenities such as water and 50 amp electrical hookups, potential campers should be aware of the hillside terrain, lack of sewer, the unique shower house configuration, and the reported spider issue in the bathrooms. The presence of a playground adds to its appeal for families. By considering these factors and perhaps contacting the campground directly for more details, local users searching for 'camping near me' can determine if Lakeview Campground meets their needs for a pleasant outdoor getaway.

Lakeview Campground Reviews
The park is pretty. Close to the water. The sites are on a hillside and that was hard to tel from the photos with online reservation. No signs for one way travel or not, would hate to meet a truck and trailer going the opposite direction. Some tight turns for a longer 5th wheel RV. Had water and 50 amp, but no sewer. The shower house is “jail house style” as my daughter said. Wide open stalls, some with two shower heads in one stall, no curtains. No privacy. Nice playground. Park was clean.

Oct 09, 2024 · Vanessa BJust a really beautiful spot. It was October, but warm and people were out enjoying campfires. The almost full moon rose over the lake and you could see without a flashlight!
