Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town Journey Introduce
Are you searching for a convenient and well-equipped campground in the Las Vegas area? Look no further than the Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town Journey, located at 5225 Boulder Hwy. This campground offers a strategic location for those looking to explore the vibrant Las Vegas Strip and downtown, while also providing a comfortable base for relaxation. Whether you're an RV enthusiast or a camper looking for amenities, this KOA Journey aims to cater to your needs.
For local users searching for "camping near me," the Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town Journey presents itself as a viable option with its proximity to the city. Its location directly beside Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall offers immediate access to entertainment, dining, and other conveniences. Furthermore, the presence of a nearby bus stop provides an easy and affordable transportation link to the world-famous Las Vegas Strip and the downtown area, making it an appealing choice for those who want to experience the city's attractions without the hassle of driving and parking.
Based on customer reviews, the environment of the Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town Journey appears to have both positive and negative aspects. Some reviewers have described the RV sites as being close together, resembling a parking lot with limited space for outdoor activities such as barbecuing or setting up a table. The "buddy sites," where RVs are parked back-to-back with minimal separation, seem to be a point of concern for some visitors, especially when the campground is not at full capacity and better spacing might have been possible.
On the other hand, the campground is consistently described as clean and well-maintained. This focus on cleanliness contributes to a positive overall experience for many guests. The management's responsiveness and willingness to accommodate guests, as highlighted in a review where a visitor had to extend their stay due to repairs, also speak to the level of service provided. The ability to receive Amazon packages at the office is another convenient feature appreciated by campers.
In terms of services and features, the Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town Journey offers a pool and a hot tub for guests to enjoy. However, it's important to note that a review from February indicated that the pool was not heated, and the hot tub's water jets were not functioning correctly, providing only air bubbles instead of a massage. It's advisable to check the current status of these amenities, especially during the off-season, by contacting the campground directly at (702) 454-8055 or +1 702-454-8055.
Despite some concerns about site spacing, the campground offers essential amenities expected from a KOA Journey. These typically include water and electrical hookups for RVs, and while not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, KOA campgrounds often provide other standard features such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and potentially Wi-Fi access. For specific details on available amenities at this location, it is recommended to contact them directly.
Safety is another important consideration for campers. One reviewer explicitly mentioned that they did not have any safety concerns during their stay, despite the campground being located within the city. This positive feedback can be reassuring for local users who might be hesitant about camping within an urban environment.
Considering the "camping near me" category, the Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town Journey offers a unique blend of accessibility to city life and the amenities of a campground. Its proximity to Sam's Town provides entertainment options just steps away, and the easy access to public transportation opens up the entire Las Vegas experience. For local residents looking for a quick getaway without venturing too far from the city, or for those who have family or friends visiting and need a convenient place for their RV, this KOA could be a suitable choice.
It's worth noting that the pricing was mentioned as "expensive RV Parking Lot" by one reviewer. While value perception can vary, it's advisable for potential guests to inquire about the current rates and what is included to determine if it aligns with their budget and expectations. KOA campgrounds often have varying pricing based on the type of site, time of year, and length of stay.
In summary, the Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town Journey offers a conveniently located campground with access to both urban attractions and on-site amenities. While some concerns have been raised about site spacing and the condition of certain recreational facilities at specific times, the cleanliness, maintenance, and helpfulness of the staff have been highlighted as positive aspects. For local users searching for "camping near me" that provides a base for exploring Las Vegas with the added convenience of campground facilities, this KOA Journey is worth considering. We recommend contacting them directly for the most up-to-date information on pricing, availability, and the status of all amenities to ensure it meets your specific needs for your next camping adventure.

Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town Journey Reviews
Expensive RV Parking Lot. Most of the sites are buddy sites with minimum to no space between the site. It is not even possible to have a BBQ or even a table. The sites are back to back exactly like a parking lot. During the week, the camping was not more than 30 % occupancy, and they put a RV back to us most of the time (bad planning in my point of view). The pool was not heated (February) and the SPA was broken (not water jets, it was air bubbles, completely inadequate to procure a massage).Positive: The campground is conveniently located beside a casino and bus stop to get to the strip and downtown. The people at the reception are nice and friendly.
Mar 04, 2025 · Rene HabelWorked out really well to stay here and was very clean and maintained. Had to stay longer due to repairs, and the staff was awesome to accommodate us as we kept adding days according to our repair needs. Pool was great with hot tub. Amazon packages can be dropped at office, so you don't have to use the lockers in town. We didn't have any safety concerns, even though in the city.
May 02, 2025 · Lauren MurphyThis KOA is more than AOK. Excellent staff, very clean and well-kept property. You'll find a large laundromat next beautiful pool area. They offer a great variety of spaces, including private fenced doggy yard, gazebo patio, or just a simple standard, all have full hookup.
Nov 24, 2024 · David LondonSam's Town KOA was an excellent place to stay. The pool area had soft, romantic lighting at night, creating a lovely ambiance. The campground was conveniently located beside the casino, featuring a spacious, well-maintained dog run. I highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a clean, tidy, and enjoyable place to stay.
Aug 17, 2024 · Debby ODonnellStayed overnight on our way through. Check in staff were friendly and helpful. Really appreciated the “paw Pen” site. Park nice and clean as usual, though we heard many more sirens overnight than we have in years past. Made our way over to Sam’s Town in the evening to find that most of the restaurants have been closed down:(
