Consider Las Vegas Bay Campground, situated near Boulder City, NV, and offering a convenient and enjoyable camping experience. Based on feedback from fellow campers, this campground provides a solid option for those seeking an outdoor escape in the Lake Mead area.
A Welcoming Environment for Families:
Las Vegas Bay Campground is frequently described as a "very nice family campground," suggesting a welcoming and safe environment for campers of all ages. The atmosphere is reported to be more family-oriented and festive compared to nearby options like Boulder Beach. While some reviewers noted that the campground can get crowded, particularly with RVs, the overall ambiance seems conducive to a pleasant family vacation.
Essential Services and Clean Facilities:
The campground offers essential services to ensure a comfortable stay. Campers have access to restrooms equipped with flushing toilets. While soap and paper towels may occasionally be unavailable, the restrooms are generally considered "pretty much clean and stocked." Water spigots are conveniently located throughout the campground, and the restrooms also feature electric plugs, which can be useful for charging devices or using small appliances. For waste disposal, "plenty of dumpsters" are available, promoting cleanliness and responsible camping practices.
Embrace Nature and Wildlife:
Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to the natural environment. While the lake itself might be a bit of a distance due to water levels, the surrounding area offers its own unique charm. Campers often report hearing coyotes and owls at night, adding to the natural soundscape. The night sky is also a highlight, with reviewers mentioning "awesome" stargazing opportunities due to the dark desert skies. The presence of mature trees and bushes is a significant advantage, providing ample shade to campsites, a welcome feature in the Nevada climate. It's important to note that these trees and bushes are protected, emphasizing the campground's commitment to preserving the natural landscape.
Helpful Staff and Efficient Management:
The campground staff, including the rangers and the camp host, Bob, receive positive feedback. Rangers are described as "very professional and courteous," diligently handling any issues with unruly campers, reinforcing the rules and ensuring a peaceful environment for all. Camp host Bob is commended for keeping the campground "efficient and well kept" while also being "friendly and helpful," contributing significantly to a positive camping experience.
Features and Amenities:
- Water Spigots: Easily accessible water sources throughout the campground.

Things to Note:
- No Campground Showers: It's important to be aware that Las Vegas Bay Campground does not have dedicated shower facilities. Campers may need to bring their own portable shower solutions, as one reviewer mentioned a "brand new shower tent" being useful.
- Lake Distance: Due to current water levels, the lake might be a considerable distance from the campground. This is a factor to consider for those primarily interested in immediate lake access.
- Generator Hours: Generators have designated running hours, which helps to minimize noise disturbance for other campers.
- Crowding: The campground can be crowded, particularly with RVs, which might affect the sense of seclusion for some campers.
Location and Nearby Attractions:
Las Vegas Bay Campground boasts a convenient location close to several amenities and attractions. It is near Henderson shopping areas, offering easy access to supplies and retail options. Boulder Beach, a popular spot by the water, is also in close proximity. A visit to the Boulder Beach visitor center is highly recommended. The campground's address is Boulder City, NV 89005, USA, and you can reach them by phone at (702) 293-8990 or mobile at +1 702-293-8990.
Potential Promotional Information:
One significant piece of promotional information gleaned from a review is the benefit of the America the Beautiful Access Pass. This pass offers half off the cost of campsites and free entry into the Lake Mead area. If you possess this pass, be sure to mention it at the time of booking or check-in. It's recommended to inquire at any BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land office for information on obtaining this pass if you are eligible. While no other specific promotions were mentioned in the provided reviews, it's always advisable to check the official website or contact the campground directly to inquire about any current seasonal discounts, group rates, or other special offers that might be available.
In conclusion, Las Vegas Bay Campground offers a family-oriented camping experience with essential amenities, a natural environment with wildlife and stargazing opportunities, and a helpful staff. While the lack of showers and the potential distance to the lake are factors to consider, its proximity to local conveniences and the potential discount with the America the Beautiful Access Pass make it a worthwhile option for those seeking "camping near me" in the Boulder City and Lake Mead region.

Las Vegas Bay Campground Reviews
It was a very nice family campground with water spigots & an electric plug in the restrooms (flushing toilets) which were pretty much clean & stocked except for no soap or paper towels. Many coyotes & owls were heard at night in the distance & the stars were awesome! Generators have running hours otherwise it would be horrible noise! America the Beautiful Access Pass gets you half off campsites & free entry into the Lake Mead area(talk to any BLM land office 😉). The rangers were very professional and courteous! Camp host Bob seems to have the campground efficient and well kept while being friendly & helpful. Trees & bushes are protected so the shade is great!!! I would have given 5 stars if the lake wasn't so far away due to the water being down so far in the lake now. Plenty of dumpsters so no need for littering 🙂 The fellow campers were very considerate & what they were not going to use was left behind for those who could use the stuff. (A brand new shower tent still in box came in handy with the portable shower head we brought in) No campground showers there! Very close to Henderson shopping & Boulder Beach by the water. The visitor center is a must see by Boulder Beach! Everything went smoothly with the considerate campers & the unruly ones were diligently handled by the rangers, federal land in national park systems! Think twice before breaking laws!!! This campground was more family oriented than Boulder Beach & more festive.
Apr 05, 2025 · Dd DdA solid choice if you're looking for an ordinary campground. While I liked that it was a little out of the way, it was still crowded with RV's mostly and some tents. Views are enjoyable, but not breathtaking.Recommended.
Apr 21, 2025 · David GThis is a lovely campground with spectacular views of desert landscapes. Clean, easy to park, and the good value for the money. Restrooms are clean. Clean. We only stayed here one night on our way home but have made a note to come by again.
Mar 03, 2025 · Lorett Kinnicutt-RogersThis is my favorite campground at Lake Mead. It has flush toilets, some shade, picnic tables, fire rings, grills, a dump station, trash dumpsters, and potable water. The views of the Las Vegas Wash are incredible. That water draws a variety of wildlife, including Roadrunners and coyotes.
Feb 28, 2025 · Susan BrightThe campground was beautiful. I stayed in the loop where no generators are allowed so it was much more peaceful than the other loops. When I first arrived, there was potable water available at the dump station, but some folks started working on the potable water station and when I left on 12/9/24 the hose was disconnected and no potable water was available. I hope they finish fixing it very soon!
