The environment of Laurel Park Camping seems to be characterized by a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. One reviewer who stayed overnight on their way to South Dakota noted the peacefulness of the location, even experiencing a little rain which didn't detract from their positive experience. This suggests that the campground offers a tranquil setting, potentially away from the noise of major highways, allowing for a relaxing night's sleep. While specific details about the natural landscape (such as trees, greenery, or proximity to natural attractions) are not extensively described, the mention of a "nice place" implies a generally agreeable setting.
In terms of services and amenities, Laurel Park Camping offers several notable conveniences. A significant highlight is the provision of level cement pads for campsites. This is particularly beneficial for RV owners, ensuring a stable and even surface for parking and setting up. The availability of 30A electrical hookups is also explicitly mentioned, catering to the power needs of many RVs and campers. One reviewer even noted the unexpected bonus of a "free electrical hookup" during their stay, although it's unclear if this is a standard offering or a temporary situation. The presence of "good running water by the playground" is another valuable amenity, providing easy access to water for drinking or other needs.
Laurel Park Camping appears to be particularly family-friendly, with a "great playground for the kids right outside" the camping area. While the specifics of any pet-related rules or facilities (such as designated dog walking areas) are not mentioned, the general indication of being dog-friendly is a positive attribute.
The reviews also provide some insights into the facilities beyond the campsites themselves. While the bathrooms were reported as locked in late April, they are described as being "close by and look nice." This suggests that restroom facilities are available during the main camping season and are likely well-maintained. Local users planning to camp in the early or late shoulder seasons might want to inquire about the availability of these facilities.

Local users might want to check with the town of Laurel's website or any local tourism resources to see if there are any special offers or events associated with Laurel Park Camping, particularly for residents of the area. It's also worth inquiring directly with the campground management about any seasonal discounts or local resident rates that might be available.

Laurel Park Camping Reviews
Stopped for a night on our way to South Dakota. We arrived a little late in the day due to stops and flooding detours, expecting not to find a spot. But we were the only ones there for the night. Free electrical hookup, and a quiet night with a little rain. Nice place.
May 17, 2024 · HighwayknightSuper nice little camping area!! Level cement pads. 30A hookups. Great playground for the kids right outside. Dog friendly. There is good running water by the playground. Bathrooms were locked in late April, but are close by and look nice. Cute little town two blocks away and excellent food at Knuckleheads. Love it here!
Apr 29, 2022 · Daniel PothierWas working in this town for the week and needed a place to charge my electric car as there are no chargers anywhere nearby. Nobody was here camping and office was closed so I dropped money in the dropbox and started charging. Not long after, I got a notification saying my vehicle stopped charging, so I returned over there to find it unplugged from the 30A. I plugged back in and 5 minutes later the service was shut off to all spots. No one to talk to, I left. Seems like some sort of hate towards electric cars coming from someone who works the campground. Enjoy my 10 bucks. At least Wayne campground was nice enough to let me charge for free, otherwise I would have been stranded. Also, enjoy your new high school gym. I helped build it.
