Oasis Campground Introduce
Searching for a vibrant and activity-filled "camping near me" experience in the Hancock, Wisconsin area? Oasis Campground, located at N4398 Elizabeth Ln, Hancock, WI 54943, offers a wide array of amenities and activities that cater to both families and individuals seeking an engaging outdoor getaway. Based on recent customer reviews, Oasis Campground presents a mixed but overall positive picture, with a strong emphasis on providing entertainment and convenience for its guests.
One of the frequently mentioned highlights of Oasis Campground is the sheer abundance of activities available, particularly for children. Reviewers note the presence of a bounce pad, an inflatable obstacle course, Gaga ball, and even a foam party, which was described as a "highlight." The campground also features a pond and a chlorine pool, providing options for water-based recreation. While one reviewer felt the entry cost for using the pond and pool without a campsite was overpriced, they did acknowledge the fun factor and the availability of a small chlorine pool with shaded areas and the allowance of personal floaties and pool toys. This suggests that for campers staying on-site, the included access to these facilities adds significant value.
For families with pets, Oasis Campground offers a notable amenity: a fenced-in dog park. One reviewer expressed great satisfaction with this feature, highlighting the freedom it provided for their dog to run unleashed with other canine companions. This thoughtful inclusion makes Oasis Campground a potentially attractive option for local users who consider their pets an integral part of their "camping near me" experience.
In terms of facilities, one reviewer specifically praised the cleanliness of the bathrooms, describing them as "one of the cleanest bathrooms he’s been in while camping." Additionally, the convenience of having sewer hookups directly at the sites was noted as a significant pro, eliminating the need to transport campers off-site for waste disposal. These practical aspects contribute to a more comfortable and hassle-free camping experience for RV owners.
Oasis Campground also appears to offer some additional services and features that enhance the guest experience. A gift shop on-site provides an opportunity to purchase souvenirs, toys, and snacks. One reviewer mentioned a cookie decorating activity for children, although they found the cost per cookie to be somewhat high. The fact that sites were labeled nicely, making them easy to find, also contributes to a positive initial impression upon arrival.
However, the reviews also point out some areas where Oasis Campground could improve. One recurring issue was the sandy conditions at the campsites, even those not located near the water. This resulted in sand being tracked into campers and living spaces, which some guests found inconvenient. Another significant concern was the prevalence of flies and gnats, with one reviewer describing the flies as biting and persistent, even to the point of inadvertently bringing them home. While mosquitoes were reportedly absent, the abundance of other biting insects could detract from the outdoor experience for some local users seeking "camping near me" in a more natural setting.
The lack of a recycling program was also noted as a significant disappointment by one environmentally conscious reviewer. They expressed concern for the environmental impact and mentioned that previous inquiries about recycling from other campers had reportedly been ignored by the owners. This lack of attention to sustainability might be a drawback for local users who prioritize eco-friendly practices.
Finally, the 11:00 AM checkout time was mentioned as being earlier than the reviewers preferred, especially compared to other campgrounds offering later checkout times. This could lead to a more rushed departure experience for some campers.
Despite these drawbacks, one reviewer concluded that Oasis Campground was their "favorite campground we’ve been to to date" and expressed enthusiasm for booking future long stays. They also acknowledged that some of the cons, such as the dryness of the grass and the presence of bugs, are influenced by natural conditions. This suggests that the positive aspects of Oasis Campground, particularly the wide range of activities and some of the convenient facilities, outweigh the negatives for many visitors.
For local users in the Hancock, WI area looking for "camping near me" that offers a plethora of activities, especially for children, Oasis Campground appears to be a strong contender. The availability of a pond, pool, bounce pad, inflatable obstacle course, and other engaging options provides ample entertainment. The clean bathrooms, on-site sewer hookups, and dog park add to the convenience and appeal. However, potential campers should be aware of the sandy conditions at the sites and the potential for significant insect activity. The lack of recycling and the earlier checkout time are also factors to consider.
To get the most up-to-date information on pricing, availability, and any potential promotions, local users are encouraged to contact Oasis Campground directly at (715) 254-8001 or +1 715-254-8001. Oasis Campground Reviews
First time I've ever been there, my better half and his son used to go. Minus one star as I think the cost to get in, just for the use of the pond and pool was really overpriced IMO. I could see if it had included a campsite, or a free burger n fries or a couple adult drink tickets included, that price would've made more sense. If you go here, it is best to bring your own lounge chairs and a shade tent or canopy of you want to find shade as there really is none and the ones there (I wasn't sure or not) are from what campers or others brought and set up on their own. However there is an abundance of activities for kids all day long which was cool. Was fun to see the bubble machine BUT I heard several kids crying because the bubbles made their eyes sting. Isn't there something more natural and sting-free/burning free that could be used to make the bubbles? I'm really glad that we had use of the small chlorine pool though. That water was the perfect temperature, there's shade under the pavilion. I like that we could bring our own floaties and pool toys too. Overall a fun day for all of us, the food and drinks were good but I still think at $25 PER PERSON is insane. Not even cheaper for kids under 10.
Jun 29, 2021 · Jen ColeFirst timers here. I’ll list the pros and the cons. Starting with the pros•sites were labeled nicely so they were able to find.•bathroom was clean. My husband said it was one of the cleanest bathrooms he’s been in while camping.•the bounce pad was a blast. I haven’t laughed that hard in a very long time nor have I stepped foot on a trampoline in 15 years!• so much to do! There was shuffle boards, horseshoes, Gaga ball, etc to keep kids out of the campers and outside!• the inflatable obstacle course was a blast. I think I enjoyed watching our husbands jump off it or slipping than anything.• the foam party was the highlight of our day Saturday. The kids had so much fun getting buried in bubbles.• my dog LOVED the dog park. I was so happy to see one fenced in and all for our four legged friend to run around in unleashed with other dogs.•cookie decorating was a fun idea for the kids to do before we went swimming. As a mom with multiples, $2/cookie was kind of expensive (in my opinion)•lots of nice stuff in the gift shop. Spent $25 in there on toys/candy and a cute magnet for our fridge that says the campground name on it.•sewer right on sight so you didn’t have to drag your camper offsite somewhere to dump.Cons• lack of rain made the grass at the sites very dry. Felt like walking on needles.• soooo sandy at the sites all of us booked. Ironically we weren’t near the water/beach. Our camper floors and beds were covered in sand.• the flies were TERRIBLE! Regular house flies were BITING. I think we brought a dozen flies home with us from camping that I can’t get out of my camper ha! The gnats were awful as well, swarming your legs and arms. And bug spray didn’t help. Reluctantly they went away at night. Absolutely no mosquitoes so that was at least pleasant!•No recycling? So sad. For the planet. For the kids’ futures. For the landfill. Please consider getting a recycle bin. We separated everything during our stay and were shocked there wasn’t one, after hearing from another camper saying they have asked for one and the owners don’t listen.•check out times at 11, suck. We’ve been to many campgrounds that do later checkouts after 1pm and anything after is extra which is way easier to leave relaxed and not rushed to make sure we have everything cleaned up/put back. However, with all of this being said, I think this is officially our favorite campground we’ve been to to date and we cannot wait to book many trips next summer for long stays. A lot of my cons are nothing to do with the campground. Mother Nature plays a huge factor on the weather conditions, the bugs and or dryness of the grass.
Aug 14, 2023 · AlyssaThis was our 5th? Time going and we're thinking our last. Just because our teens are older now. Campground is very well kept and very nice, they have a nice little store with necessities but prices are a little high on food. Don't forget your smores supplies! Lol The pool and bathrooms are nice, they have fun activities for the kids, they have fireworks for the 4th and had a band in 2022 (but not in 2021 when we were there) there's a swingset, gaga ball ring, jumping pillow and of course the water park! They do provide life jackets but all are adult xs or smaller. You can bring your own. People of all ages wear a life jacket (but it's not required) because trust me.... running on that thing and falling in all the time and swimming... you get EXHAUSTED!! You WILL wear your kids out here!! 🥳
Jul 20, 2022 · Tara OwenWe debated whether to check out this place or go to the Dells, as usual, for a water park day. So glad we chose Oasis! It is affordable and so much fun! Both the kids and the adults had a blast. It is certainly challenging and the kids had fun laughing at us out of shape adults falling into the water. Bring your own cooler and lawn chairs; a sun umbrella is a good idea too as the trees are young and there isn't much shade. They kindly provide life jackets. This is a treasure of a find right now, I do worry that it wouldn't be nearly as much fun on a busy weekend day, or once it gains popularity and gets packed. Go now while it's still a hidden gem!
Jul 06, 2018 · Kasey S.We stayed there for the second time. First time overall a very good experience. Not sure what happened this year, but very rude young staff. I think they need a bit more adults over seeing things. Flat inflatables and nothing done about it. For that, I'd give a 2 star considering the price you pay to stay here.
