For local users in Wisconsin seeking "camping near me" with a distinct focus on spiritual atmosphere and Christian community, the Wisconsin Conference of SDA Campground, located at W8368 County Hwy E, Oxford, WI 53952, USA, presents a unique option. Based on the overwhelmingly positive testimonials from visitors, this campground offers more than just a place to camp; it provides an opportunity to be part of a deeply religious and welcoming environment, characterized by friendly and non-judgmental individuals committed to their faith and community service.
The environment of the Wisconsin Conference of SDA Campground, as described by visitors, is deeply intertwined with its spiritual purpose. One reviewer noted it as a "wonderful time and place to be part of a godly atmosphere with all who comes here." This suggests that the campground fosters a sense of reverence, peace, and spiritual connection among its guests. The emphasis on a "godly atmosphere" implies that the environment is likely conducive to reflection, worship, and fellowship within a Christian context. While the physical characteristics of the campground (such as the landscape, presence of trees, or proximity to natural features) are not detailed, the overarching theme is one of a spiritually enriching setting.
The services and features of the Wisconsin Conference of SDA Campground appear to extend beyond typical camping amenities, focusing on the communal and spiritual well-being of its visitors. Reviewers consistently praise the people associated with the campground, describing them as an "amazing group of Christian people who love Jesus and their community." This strong sense of community and shared faith seems to be a central feature of the campground experience. The mention of their "sacrifice of their time, resources, and energies" suggests that the campground may be run by dedicated volunteers or staff who are deeply committed to serving their guests and the wider community.
A particularly noteworthy feature, highlighted by one reviewer, is the welcoming and non-judgmental nature of the people at the campground. Despite their strong commitment to their religious principles and values, they are described as being exceptionally friendly and accepting of individuals with differing beliefs. This ability to love and invest in the community, regardless of whether others share their faith, is presented as an "exemplary expression of Christianity." This suggests that the campground provides a safe and inclusive space for all visitors, fostering positive interactions and a sense of belonging, even among those who may not share the same religious background.
The reviews also imply that the Wisconsin Conference of SDA Campground may host events or gatherings that contribute to this strong sense of community and spiritual atmosphere. The fact that people "come here" to be part of the godly atmosphere suggests that the campground might be a venue for religious retreats, conferences, or other faith-based activities. These events would likely provide opportunities for fellowship, worship, and spiritual growth, further enhancing the unique character of this campground.
While the specific amenities typically associated with a campground (such as campsite types, hookups, restroom facilities, recreational areas) are not detailed in the provided reviews, the strong emphasis on the spiritual and communal aspects suggests that these may be secondary to the primary mission of providing a godly and welcoming environment. However, the fact that it is referred to as a "campground" implies that it does offer facilities for overnight stays, whether in tents, RVs, or perhaps cabins.
Given the unique nature of this campground, it is unlikely to offer typical promotional deals in the same way as a commercial campground. Instead, its appeal lies in the spiritual and community-oriented experience it provides. For local users seeking a "camping near me" option that aligns with their Christian faith and offers an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals in a supportive and welcoming environment, the Wisconsin Conference of SDA Campground appears to be an exceptional choice.

Wisconsin Conference of SDA Campground Reviews
A wonderful time and place to be part of a godly atmosphere with all who comes here
Mar 20, 2025 · Susan SeeleyWhat an amazing group of Christian people who love Jesus and their community. Their sacrifice of their time, resources, and energies are unbelievable. Especially, in the current divided climate of our country. While they are clearly and unequivocally committed to their Savior and the principles and values of their religion, they are some of the most friendly and non-judgmental people I have ever met. Their beliefs often are in stark contradiction to those they serve in the community, yet they never seem to allow that to get in the way of loving and investing deeply in the community whether or not people adopt their beliefs or even oppose them.As far as I can tell, they live their lives as faithfully as possible to their beliefs without compromising them in their pursuit of loving those they believe Jesus died for. Quite an exemplary expression of Christianity!
Jun 23, 2023 · Peter EmigI have attended this camp for the camp meetings ever since I was a tyke. It is a beautiful campground with something for all ages. It is a blessing to come and hear the speakers. I always leave feeling refreshed. The camp has a family camp, blind camp, and much more. I would recommend it.
Jun 20, 2013 · george JohnsonThis an excellent camp for youth to have a Godly fun time in a safe outdoor environment. They hold a great Christ centered camp meeting each June which is open to everyone.
Jun 21, 2019 · Joe PerricelliaCamp Wakonda is our family "oasis" every summer. It's where we connect with our Wisconsin church family every year and look forward to new friendships as well! Earl and I have our own unusual "camp ministry", we clean 2 of the 4 Bathroom/Shower Houses on the property. We know what a sense of relief it is to have a very clean, safe place to wash up and bath your family. We started out tent camping many years ago and then we got a cabin we are able to rent every year. Now we have the comforts of home for 10 days! The camp cafeteria caters to vegans and vegetarians. The ABC furnishes families with cases of canned and frozen food as well as books, Bibles, bible studies and games/toys for children and adults. There's a store for T-shirts, hats and 100's of trinkets & memorabilia. We look forward to bringing our grandchildren when they get old enough so they can experience learning about God in such a beautiful, natural setting. I truly believe Camp Wakonda in Wisconsin should set the standard for camp meetings worldwide!
