Leech Lake Recreation Area Reviews
Great campground. All of the sites I surveyed were level and easy to back in. The laundry room has two washers and two dryers that are available at no charge. Wow! That was nice. Most of the sites have electric only, but a few are full hookups. You can do a fresh water fill at the dump station. Speaking of the dump station: Only one camper at a time can dump. One could double back and pull up to the station, but you only have one drainage hole. This might be useful if you only needed water. You could get water while someone else was dumping. There is a lot to do in the nearby towns. A lot of the campers here had their fishing boats with them.Be sure to check out the 600+ year old tree (pictured) during your stay.
Jul 15, 2024 · Kenneth DavisWhat a great campground that earns 5 stars plus in every possible way. It is extremely well maintained by a nice friendly and helpful staff. The campsites are overly generous in size and they are level with utilities that work perfectly. Antenna TV works well considering the remote location, so did our AT&T and Verizon cell reception. What more could one wish for ?
Jul 19, 2024 · Sanbonani ProductionsWe had never stayed at an Army Corps campground before and after this last weekend's trip, I am looking for others to stay at. It was wonderful. Large well maintained sites with lots of room between the sites. Beautiful trees throughout. While not on the main part of Leech Lake, the channel and surrounding wetlands still nice and provided lovely sunsets. The bathroom facility was large and clean. The longtime camp hosts were very nice and helpful. Read a lot of reviews about the mosquito issue. We didn't experience that but we were there later in the season and it was a little windy during our time there.
Sep 09, 2020 · Tina CarstensBeautiful COE campground. Get water at dump station before parking! Prepare for mosquitoes! Take advantage of their wonderful showers and free laundry. Come back when you can unless you’re like me 1000 miles away.
Sep 02, 2023 · Joyce GunnelsNice place! Neat, well-maintained, clean, quiet, scenic campground! Didn't do too well fishing, but caught some Northern, 1-Lg Mouth Bass & a few little Sunnies....could only get out into the big lake 1 day, cuz kinda windy.
