We came for the Halloween festivities. Which was a lot of fun, and you can tell they put some work into the decorations and planning. Some sites had political flags which I think shouldn't be in a camp site. But what made us feel very uncomfortable were the Confederate flags that were throughout the grounds. We almost wanted to leave right away. But we stayed. This is a family oriented campground, and the people we talked to were very friendly. I don't think we'll be back. - Cindy St Martine

Little Red Barn Campground Introduce

For our local community members seeking "camping near me" in the Quakertown, Pennsylvania area, we introduce Little Red Barn Campground, located at 367 Old Bethlehem Rd, Quakertown, PA 18951, USA. Reachable by phone at (215) 536-3357 or mobile +1 215-536-3357, this campground offers a range of amenities and experiences, as reflected in recent customer reviews. While some visitors have highlighted enjoyable aspects such as Halloween festivities and a family-oriented atmosphere, others have noted certain factors like the presence of political and Confederate flags, the lack of full hookups, and the location of facilities that potential local campers should consider.

The environment at Little Red Barn Campground appears to be spacious, as one reviewer described it as a "large campground." Its proximity to Nockamixon State Park, being just 5-10 minutes away, suggests that campers have convenient access to the natural beauty and recreational opportunities offered by the state park, which is known for its lake, hiking trails, and other outdoor activities. One visitor who went at the beginning of the camping season noted that "nobody was around," which might appeal to those seeking a quieter and more secluded experience, particularly during off-peak times. However, the same review also mentioned the presence of "quite a few season campers," indicating a mix of short-term and potentially longer-term residents within the campground. While one reviewer found the campground to be family-oriented and the people they talked to "very friendly," another visitor expressed discomfort due to the presence of Confederate flags throughout the grounds, which significantly impacted their perception of the environment. Local users should be aware of these differing perspectives regarding the overall atmosphere of the campground. The setting itself in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, likely offers a typical Northeastern landscape with trees and open areas suitable for camping.

In terms of services, Little Red Barn Campground offers a mix of amenities, but it's important to note that "no full hookups" are available, which might be a significant consideration for RV campers seeking comprehensive utility connections. For those with RVs or trailers, a "dump station" is available, but one reviewer pointed out that it requires backing in, which could be a factor for some to consider. The campground provides essential facilities such as "toilets and showers," although these are located "up front," which might mean a considerable walk for campers situated further into the campground. For recreational services, Little Red Barn Campground features a "pool" and a "children’s playground," making it potentially appealing for families with children, especially during the warmer months. Additionally, there is a "pavilion," which could serve as a gathering space for groups or organized activities. The staff were described as "pleasant" by one reviewer, indicating a positive interaction with the campground employees. However, there was no mention of other services such as laundry facilities, Wi-Fi access, or a camp store in the provided reviews. Local users should consider the limited hookup options and the centralized location of restrooms and showers when planning their stay. The presence of a pool and playground suggests a focus on family recreation.

The features of Little Red Barn Campground include its large size, the availability of individual campsites (though the type and size are not specified), and the recreational amenities such as the pool and children’s playground. The pavilion offers a communal space for various activities. A notable feature mentioned by one reviewer is the Halloween festivities, indicating that the campground organizes themed events and puts effort into decorations and planning for these occasions, which could be a draw for local families looking for seasonal fun. The presence of fire rings and picnic tables at individual sites is typically expected at campgrounds but was not explicitly mentioned in the reviews. The proximity to Nockamixon State Park is a significant feature, providing easy access to a wide range of outdoor activities beyond the campground itself. The fact that some sites displayed political flags, and more concerningly, Confederate flags were visible throughout the grounds, is a notable feature of the campground's atmosphere that may be off-putting to some visitors. Local users will need to weigh the positive features like the size and recreational amenities against the potentially negative aspects of the campground environment as perceived by some visitors. The presence of seasonal campers suggests a sense of community for longer-term stays.

Local users interested in potential discounts for residents, off-season rates, or any special packages should contact the campground directly at (215) 536-3357 or +1 215-536-3357. Local families interested in participating in organized activities might want to inquire about any upcoming events and their associated costs.
