Live Oak Campground at Caspers Wilderness Park Reviews
Spent amazing time at Live Oak Campground and honestly, it was such a peaceful escape. The whole area is clean, well maintained, and surrounded by beautiful oak trees—it really feels like you’re tucked away in nature, but not too far from home. The campsites are spaced out enough for some privacy, and the bathrooms were way cleaner than I expected for a campground.Perfect spot if you’re looking to unplug, relax, and enjoy some quiet time outdoors. Definitely bringing the family back again.
Apr 09, 2025 · Mona RouhaniLive oak is an absolute beauty while still being close to home. Authentic “out there” camping with spacious sites, wildlife, and friendly rangers. Highly recommend for a get away with the family.
Jan 26, 2025 · Blake SalvatoJust went here over the weekend and had a great time.I do recommend booking much in advance because it does get full. The campsites are decent sizes and can definitely hold a couple of large tentsThere are fire pits and usually a seperate grill as well. But the fire pits do have grates over them too. They sell firewood for cheap also $5 a bundle. Some campsites had good trees for shade but not all so be prepared it gets hot in the summer time.Tons of critters around to welcome us 😄 squirrels, chipmunks, wood peckers but there are also red ants just be careful if you walk barefoot a lot or have children. The park rangers are so sweet and helpful. There is a nature center that has cool interactive spaces for kids and they do this Saturday night group for kids mostly, it’s fun and educational. They have a HUGE playground by the entrance of the park. They also have tons of trails to hike from a few miles long to like 20 miles it’s pretty cool. They have water spigots some are switched off to conserve water but there are usually a couple close to each campsite. The bathrooms are in one area you do have to walk to for vault toilets but there are portable potties closer if you’re okay with that. The showers have been closed though. All in all it’s a great place to camp and especially if you have kidsThere were tons of kids playing around it was nice to see all the families out.
Mar 04, 2025 · dee Jlove this camp ground! Ronald Caspers Regional Park is far enough from civilization to see some serious stars but close enough to run and get pizza for dinner and coffee for breakfast. try and get a campsite along the usually dry river bed.4 stars because they haven’t had water for the past 6 months. we camped here summer and winter 2021, and just visited today January 2022. Some equestrian group came through some months ago and emptied their reservoir and left nothing for everyone else.nature center has great info on the park and helpful informative staff. the playground and the nature walk are perfect for kids. woodpeckers are everywhere and we’ve seen red tailed hawks, barn owls and great horned owls.no pets allowed.
Jan 24, 2022 · Mikey BWe had a great spot with shade, however too close to neighbors with no camping etiquette. Kids kept running into our campsite with parents not saying anything. Water access was limited.Gravel roads, porta potties were every sites. Flush toilets up main trail.Found out hard way that no trails are wheelchair accessible. I am recovering from a broken ankle, so pretty limited to where I could go.The nature center was great and will be open all summer 9 am to 5 pm.
