Based on enthusiastic reviews from satisfied customers, Loons Point offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting for RVers and campers alike, making it an excellent choice for your next lakeside getaway in the Upper Peninsula.
The environment of Loons Point RV Park and Campground is a significant draw, with reviewers consistently highlighting its beauty and proximity to the water. The campground boasts "awesome" views of the water, creating a serene and picturesque backdrop for your camping experience. The location in Cedarville provides access to the stunning natural beauty of the Les Cheneaux Islands area, known for its pristine waters and abundant wildlife. One of the standout features is the inclusion of a "separate dog beach," making it a particularly attractive option for pet owners who want their furry companions to enjoy the water as well. The presence of well-maintained docks and slips further emphasizes the waterfront focus, catering to those who enjoy boating and water activities. The overall environment is described as "beautiful" and "well kept," suggesting a campground that takes pride in its natural setting and its upkeep.
Loons Point RV Park and Campground offers a comprehensive range of services and features designed to enhance the comfort and convenience of your stay. The campground is noted for its exceptional cleanliness, with reviewers specifically mentioning "extremely clean" conditions throughout the park. The bathroom facilities are highlighted as having "clean bathroom stalls and showers (3)," indicating a commitment to hygiene. For longer stays or those needing to freshen up, laundry facilities are available on-site. In addition to RV and tent sites, Loons Point also offers "3 small clean and well equipped cabins to rent too if needed," providing an alternative accommodation option for those who prefer a more structured lodging experience. For RVers, the campground provides essential utilities including "potable water and dumping services," as well as both "30 amp and 50 amp" electrical hookups to accommodate various RV sizes and power needs. While the vast majority of feedback is overwhelmingly positive, one reviewer did point out a potential issue regarding the placement of utility pedestals at some sites, noting that for site 30, the pedestal was "far away from where you have to park your trailer." While this guest was able to make it work, it's a factor that potential campers with specific RV setups might want to consider, perhaps by inquiring about site layouts when booking. This same reviewer also mentioned an instance where a neighboring fifth wheel was parked very close, limiting the full extension of their awning. While they were also willing to "make it work," this highlights the potential for site density during busier periods. However, the reviewer also indicated a willingness to pay a slightly higher fee for a waterfront site on their next visit, suggesting that the premium sites might offer more space or a more desirable layout.
Promotional information is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. However, the numerous positive aspects highlighted by guests serve as strong implicit endorsements. The "beautiful spot," the "extremely clean" facilities, the "helpful people," the separate dog beach, the clean bathrooms and showers, the availability of laundry and cabin rentals, and the well-maintained dock and slips are all significant selling points. For local users searching for "camping near me," these features, backed by positive customer experiences, make Loons Point RV Park and Campground a highly attractive option. Potential promotional strategies could emphasize the cleanliness, the waterfront access (including the dog beach), the availability of different accommodation types (RV sites and cabins), and the comprehensive amenities offered.
The fact that one first-time visitor immediately reserved for the following year speaks volumes about the positive impression Loons Point RV Park and Campground made. This strong vote of confidence suggests a high level of customer satisfaction and a desire to return to this "beautiful spot." The helpfulness of the staff is also consistently praised, contributing to a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all guests. Knowing that the people running the campground are helpful can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, providing peace of mind and assistance when needed.

Aug 11, 2024 · Amy Janel Haaseth-Massey (AJ)Really nice campground. The views of the water are awesome. The utility pedestal for some sites, including site 30, the one I was in, was far away from where you have to park your trailer. We made it work. The second day, the campground squeezed a fifth wheel next to us. Their slide was so close we couldn't put our awning all the way. Again, we were happy to make it work. Next time, I will just pay $5 more a night for a waterfront site.
Jun 26, 2024 · Jeff FellowsI spent the week tent camping in a rustic site that was VERY well kept up, VERY private, picturesque, near the bath- house, a short walk to the dock and shore. It was lovely and I plan to camp there again. The three employees I interacted with were kind, personable, clear, friendly and professional. Highly recommend! (Also very affordable!)
Jul 21, 2024 · Andrew RuddProbably the most impressive aspect of Loons Point is the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to do whatever they can to maximize our experience. Our lakeside site offered a beautiful view. An impressive dock with a half dozen slips for those who bring their boat along to enjoy the watersports. The bathroom/shower facilities were VERY nice. Always looking clean.. didn't feel like you needed to getter done and get out. I was a little skeptical about the shower fixtures as I didn't see a hot/cold adjustment but somehow it kept a perfect temperature.Centrally located between St Ignace, Detour, and Sault Ste Marie for day trips. Overall we had a great time and have put it on our visit again list.
Jun 04, 2023 · Kevin CooperLast minute change in plans resulted in finding this gem!!! Waterfront sites are small and narrow but small inconvenience for such a wonderful place and location. Staff were very friendly , assisting with navigating and backing in our camper. Coffee and doughnuts in tge morning. Nice bathhouse , fish cleaning station. Water is amazing! We kayaked the entire weekend. Boating and fishing is plenty as well. We have a child and 2 dogs and had no issues. Park is quiet at night as well. Thank you again! We will definitely be back
