Dan's Resort Reviews
This is to the comment that Ryan Fishers made about people from OHIO. Ive been going to the U.P. for over 50 yrs. And i also think if it wasnt for the people from Ohio half of the fish camp's wouldnt be in business, and it says that your a fishing guide shame on you for putting people down that probably helps you make a living Dans place looks great and probably is a good place to fish from but if your doing guide services from there ill just stay away and spend my money somewhere else.
Aug 25, 2024 · Truman TaylorI have always had a great experience at Dans Resort. I’ve been coming here for 10 years. Please understand that the people who complain are probably from Ohio and come here rude, arrogant, and probably unable to catch fish due to their lack of knowledge and experience. Good sportsmanship is practiced here as far as I’m concerned and I respect this establishment and the people that work here. Thank you for all the hospitality you provide to us!!
Dec 09, 2023 · ryan fisherThis spot is a one of a kind GEM! The grounds were clean, quiet, and we had a spectacular view! Our host was very kind and accommodating. This campground is private and a perfect getaway for someone who is looking to get off the grid and yet still be within 30 minutes of restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again!
Sep 06, 2021 · Ciara SwobodaDisappointing experience. Fishing was very poor (we are experienced...but I know how fishing can be at times). Cabin was so-so. Furniture and carpet were really bad (couch especially) and things like smashed bugs on the wall that were missed in the “cleaning” process are just not impressive. Bonfire pit was disappointing (we love bonfires) as it was 2 plastic chairs and a steel wheel in the dirt next to the driveway. Had to leave a day early b/c we seriously damaged a boat hitting a dead head just NW of Pine Island a half hour after Dan himself said “we don’t have those here” (I asked him b/c I’d seen 1 earlier in the day/marked it on my GPS & wanted to know how prevalent that danger is)...so he either doesn’t know about this danger or just lied to me. Wasn’t impressed with getting nickle/dimed too (they charge for maps, launching your boat, etc.)...things that should just be included when paying $175 /night. Had to take out/relaunch our boats every day, even when coming in just for lunch, b/c no docks b/c of high water (but docks can be raised)...was only 1 other group of fishermen when we were there though, so maybe could have just tied to the launch dock. Buy your tackle before paying way too much for it in their tackle shop. One of the owners was very kind to us when we had a vehicle issue though. She was helpful...but you can’t help yourself b/c there’s no cell/internet service there. I suppose they may come on here & say we didn’t “complain”, but I couldn't see what they could have done (at the time) to fix any of these things.
Jul 30, 2020 · B MCabins were clean. Staff was friendly. The fishing there was below expectations. Many people were disappointed with terrible fishing. Not much to eat around there either. So bring your own food. Do your research and make sure this place is right for you....
