Many Point Family Camp Introduce
For local users seeking a unique "camping near me" experience, consider the Many Point Family Camp, located on an unnamed road in Ponsford, MN 56575, USA. Based on glowing reviews from returning visitors, this camp offers a rustic and engaging environment perfect for families looking to create lasting memories in the heart of Minnesota's natural beauty. It's important to note, as one reviewer aptly put it, that this is "not for glampers," suggesting an authentic and somewhat rugged outdoor adventure.
The environment at Many Point Family Camp is heavily influenced by its lakeside location. Reviewers consistently praise the "lake access" and the "nice breeze from the lake" along with the "nice view of the lake" offered from at least some of the cabins. The ability to easily access the lake opens up a range of potential activities, including swimming from the "clean sandy beach" mentioned, boating with the availability of a "place to dock your boat," and simply enjoying the serene waterfront setting. The natural surroundings of Ponsford, Minnesota, likely contribute to the camp's appeal, with forests and the typical lake country scenery enhancing the overall experience.
One reviewer mentioned staying at "Ten Chiefs" in different campsites across multiple years, indicating that the camp might have various cabin or site locations, some offering more direct lake access than others. This suggests a diverse layout within the camp, potentially catering to different preferences regarding proximity to the water. It's also worth noting the reviewer's mention of "rain, bugs, and local wildlife" as part of the experience, highlighting the importance of being prepared for typical outdoor elements in this region.
The services and amenities at Many Point Family Camp are geared towards providing a functional and engaging stay, particularly for families. One significant aspect is the availability of a "shower/bath/laundry building" located conveniently near at least some of the cabins, such as Cabin #5. This provides essential facilities for maintaining hygiene and managing laundry during your stay. The camp also offers a "daily activity log to do with the kids," showcasing a commitment to providing structured and fun activities for families. These activities range from swimming and wood cookie painting to trail hikes and even leather working, suggesting a diverse program designed to keep children entertained and engaged with the outdoors and creative pursuits.
The features of the camping cabins themselves are described as "quite rustic." This is an important point for potential visitors to understand, as it sets expectations for the level of comfort and amenities provided. The cabins "do not include amenities like microwave, coffee maker, or AC." This reinforces the rustic nature of the accommodation and suggests that campers should come prepared with their own appliances if these are desired. However, the cabins do offer practical features such as "outlets throughout the cabin" for powering personal devices like box fans (recommended for summer stays) and perhaps an extension cord. There is also "lots of cupboard space and a closet" for storing clothes and belongings, although it's advisable to "bring your own hangers" as only one or two might be provided.
Sleeping arrangements are another key feature to consider. The beds are described as "not very comfortable," with a recommendation to bring a "mattress pad or topper" for added comfort. The length of the beds might also be a factor for taller individuals, with a 6 foot 1 person noting they were just accommodated, while anyone taller might need to sleep in a fetal position or diagonally. This candid feedback is valuable for ensuring guests are aware of the sleeping conditions and can prepare accordingly.
Despite the rustic nature, the cabins are equipped with essential appliances for a longer stay. There is a "small residential fridge bigger than a small apartment fridge," offering ample space for storing a week's worth of food and beverages. Additionally, there is an "electric stove with 4 burners and an oven," providing the means to cook meals within the cabin. A unique feature of at least some cabins is that "the whole front of the cabin is 3 panels that open up," allowing for a "nice breeze from the lake and a nice view of the lake," effectively blending the indoor and outdoor living spaces.
Beyond the cabins, the camp offers additional features that contribute to a positive family experience. The "clean sandy beach" provides a safe and enjoyable area for swimming and playing by the lake. The presence of a "gift shop, snacks and ice in the main building" offers convenience for purchasing necessities and souvenirs. The consistently praised "friendly and helpful staff" are a significant asset, contributing to a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all guests.

Finally, one reviewer mentioned that their "T-Mobile service had 5G in a lot of places, but mostly 4G service available," which could be relevant information for those who need to stay connected during their camping trip. However, it's important to note that cell service can vary by carrier and location within the camp.
In conclusion, Many Point Family Camp near Ponsford, Minnesota, offers a rustic and engaging "camping near me" experience, particularly well-suited for families seeking a traditional outdoor adventure with lake access. The camp provides a range of family-friendly activities, essential amenities like a shower/bath/laundry building, and cabins equipped with a fridge and stove. Many Point Family Camp Reviews
Our 2nd year of coming to this camp and definitely will be back for many more to come. We stayed at Ten Chiefs again but at a different campsite. It was a trek from the campsite we had the year before, but we enjoyed having more lake access. Even with the rain, bugs, and local wildlife, everyone had an amazing time with a few kiddos, almost in tears that the week was over and we'd be heading back home.
Jul 22, 2024 · Beth SIt's an awesome and fun family place!! Not for glampers!! I was in Cabin #5, which is close to a shower/bath/laundry building. They have a daily activity log to do with the kids, everything from swimming, wood cookie painting, trail hikes and even leather working! The cabins are quite rustic and do not include amenities like microwave, coffee maker, or AC. If you go in the summer, bring a box fan to help keep cool as there are outlets throughout the cabin and maybe an extension cord or two. Lots of cupboard space and a closet for your clothes. Bring your own hangers as they're may only be one or two inside. The beds are not very comfortable, so if you have a mattress pad or topper, you may want to bring it. They will just accommodate a 6 foot 1 guy like myself. If you're taller, you might need to sleep in the fetal position or diagonal. Lol There is a small residential fridge bigger than a small apartment fridge, which has plenty of space to store your food and beverages for the week. There's an electric stove with 4 burners and an oven. The whole front of the cabin is 3 panels that open up, and you get a nice breeze from the lake and a nice view of the lake. There's a place to dock your boat. There's a clean sandy beach. They have a gift shop, snacks and ice in the main building. Friendly and helpful staff! For the money, it's an excellent choice and helping a good cause! I'll definitely be back for years to come! My T-Mobile service had 5G in a lot of places, but mostly 4G service available.
Jul 27, 2023 · C ShellTrackGreat programs for families of scouts. The counselors are fantastic, and make you feel like family. My family loves to keep coming back. Now that I have a daughter in scouts, my son is super excited to get his chance to come to Family Camp!
Jun 30, 2019 · Bryan SullivanBeautiful location with lots of fun activities. We had a great time there with family swimming, sailing, hiking, and relaxing. The only downside, there were lots of ticks. As long as a person is checking, they will be fine.
Oct 11, 2019 · Ron WithersRelaxed, quiet, and great for the family. Program is set-up for all week. You can participate, or not, the choice is yours. Beach, swimming, fishing, games, crafts, trading post. Bring your own food for prep in cabin. And bring a fan or two! Contact Northern Star Council for reservations.
