I decided to take a couple of days to relax, so this stop was a bit impromptu. My visit was about exploring Mark Twain State Park and scope it out for future visits along the way. I went to the shrine that held the home where Mark Twain was born. Mark Twain Lake is big and has several bridges to cross, and many pelicans resided there. I saw several century old cabins in the town of Florida, Missouri. Also spent an hour or so at the memorial shrine. The museum was worth the visit to learn more about this American writer. The park was well maintained and clean. Campgrounds were easy to get to with our motorhome. I definitely would swing by again and stay longer if I'm nearby. It was a relaxing visit and a nice stopping point on my way from Colorado to Ohio. - Mike Smith
