On down the road from the picnic area is the old ghost town. Exploring Mortimer is extremely fun. For me at least. Easy to traverse and I was much larger at the time (over 220 lbs) and didn’t struggle at all. There are several places on both sides of the road to pull your vehicle over, park or just stop and enjoy the views. There are still bones of old structures here and there to meander through and around. Don’t leave a mess and help clean up any mess you find, if at all possible. This is how we keep these places accessible. - Momma Lisa
