Nickerson RV Campground Introduce
For local residents in search of "camping near me" in the Holyoke, Minnesota area, Nickerson RV Campground, located at 2142 County Line Rd, Holyoke, MN 55749, has received concerning feedback from recent customers that warrants careful consideration. The limited number of reviews available present significant issues regarding campground policies, safety, and amenities, which potential visitors should be aware of before making a decision.
Based on the available reviews, information about the environment of Nickerson RV Campground is limited. One reviewer mentions that the "sites not bad," which suggests that the physical camping spaces themselves might be adequate. However, this is the extent of the positive commentary regarding the campground's environment. The lack of further description makes it difficult to assess the overall aesthetic appeal, natural surroundings, or the general ambiance of the campground. Potential local users will need to weigh the limited positive comment against the more significant negative issues raised in the reviews.
The services and amenities at Nickerson RV Campground are a point of concern based on the customer feedback. One reviewer explicitly states that there is "nothing for kids to do, unless that has changed over the last couple of years (playground, etc)." This indicates a potential lack of recreational facilities for children, which could be a significant drawback for families looking for a "camping near me" option that caters to younger campers. Furthermore, one reviewer detailed a disturbing incident where their camper's lights and brake lines were cut while parked at their site, and the owner attributed it to potential copper theft, disclaiming responsibility. This raises serious questions about the security and safety of guests' property within the campground. The first review also suggests a restrictive policy regarding the age of RVs, with the owner reportedly refusing a well-maintained and remodeled 1986 camper without even inspecting it. This policy could exclude a significant number of potential campers with older, yet perfectly functional, RVs. The lack of mention of standard amenities like restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, or Wi-Fi in the reviews further suggests that these may be limited or absent, though this cannot be definitively stated due to the limited information.
The features of Nickerson RV Campground, as perceived through the lens of the provided reviews, are largely negative. The restrictive policy based on the age of RVs, without considering their condition, is a significant deterrent for owners of older campers. The alarming incident of vandalism and the owner's response raise serious safety and security concerns for guests and their property. The reported lack of amenities for children makes it an unsuitable option for families with young campers seeking recreational activities within the campground. While one reviewer mentioned "sites not bad," this is a very general statement and does not highlight any particularly positive features that would outweigh the significant negative issues raised. The absence of information about other potential features, such as planned activities, communal spaces, or natural attractions within the campground itself, further contributes to a concerning overall picture.
Currently, there is no indication of any promotional information for Nickerson RV Campground in the provided reviews. The overwhelmingly negative experiences shared by the reviewers would likely make any promotional efforts challenging. Local users searching for "camping near me" are advised to prioritize safety, security, and the availability of necessary amenities when making their choices. The issues raised in the reviews, particularly the property damage and the restrictive RV policy, should be carefully considered and potentially investigated further by contacting the campground directly before making a booking.
The location of Nickerson RV Campground in Holyoke, MN, places it in a rural area of Carlton County in northeastern Minnesota. While the surrounding region may offer natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities, these are not specifically highlighted in the context of the campground itself in the provided reviews. The focus of the feedback is primarily on the internal policies and incidents that occurred within the campground. Therefore, while the general area might be appealing for camping, the specific experience at Nickerson RV Campground, based on the available information, appears to be problematic.
In conclusion, for local residents seeking "camping near me" in Holyoke, MN, Nickerson RV Campground presents significant concerns based on the limited customer reviews available. The restrictive policy regarding the age of RVs, the alarming incident of property damage and the owner's response, and the reported lack of amenities for children are serious red flags. While one reviewer found the sites to be "not bad," this single positive comment does not outweigh the serious safety and policy issues raised. Potential local users are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution, thoroughly investigate these concerns by contacting the campground directly, and consider alternative campgrounds in the Holyoke area that may offer a safer, more welcoming, and better-equipped camping experience. The lack of positive feedback and the specific negative incidents reported suggest that Nickerson RV Campground may not be a suitable choice for many local campers.

Nickerson RV Campground Reviews
Never even asked to see what our camper looks like just said no based on year. It's a 1986 but has been well maintained 1 owner looks nice out side and totally remodeled inside.
Mar 17, 2023 · JoshSpent one full season with no issues. Second season, before the fall packup, had an issue with a camper driving through very fast. Asked person to slow down as I had my kids and nieces and nephews out biking.Return to site 2 weeks later and camper lights and brake lines are cut. Owner states it was probably someone steeling copper. Either way, want no part of that. Did not return for and half of season. Family and friends pulled out not long after.Sites not bad, but I will not return due to damage done to my trailer. Also, nothing for kids to do, unless that has changed over the last couple of years (playground, etc)
May 03, 2018 · Adam PecoreThis Campground is ok as of right now there's a lot of complainers there that whine about every little thing, if your dog barks once, if you're going a little too fast around the park. The amenities are good there's hot showers bathroom with the sink. There is water hookups and sewage dump right at your rv camp site.
Aug 06, 2016 · Colin PadrnosThis is a great little rv park! Close to lakes , wheeler trails and the Nemaji State Forest!
