Oak Grove COE campground Introduce
Attention local camping enthusiasts! Are you searching for the ideal "camping near me" location? Look no further than Oak Grove COE Campground, situated on the shores of a beautiful little lake in Sardis, Mississippi. Located at MS-315, Sardis, MS 38666, USA, this campground offers a serene lakeside environment and full hookup facilities for a comfortable and convenient camping experience.
For those in the Sardis and surrounding areas looking for a quick escape to nature, Oak Grove COE Campground provides an accessible and picturesque destination. The campground's prime location on a "beatiful little lake" promises opportunities for water-based activities and stunning lakeside views, creating a relaxing backdrop for your camping retreat. Imagine spending your days fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the water.
Oak Grove COE Campground offers a significant amenity for many campers: full hookups (FHU). This means that your campsite will likely be equipped with connections for water, electricity, and sewer, providing a level of convenience that enhances longer stays and makes camping more comfortable, especially for RV owners. Having these utilities readily available at your site allows you to enjoy the comforts of home while immersed in the natural beauty of the lake environment.
It's important for prospective campers to be aware of the reservation process at Oak Grove COE Campground. Contrary to some online information, the campground operates on a reservation system through recreation.gov. As one reviewer noted, it is necessary to book your site online in advance. While this ensures you have a guaranteed spot upon arrival, it's worth considering that cellular data coverage in the area, particularly for Verizon users according to one review, might be limited. Therefore, it is advisable to make your reservations prior to arriving in the immediate vicinity of the campground to avoid potential difficulties with online booking.
Upon arrival, campers can expect to be greeted by the camp host, who, as mentioned in a review, diligently checks for registrations. This ensures that all campers have properly reserved their sites and contributes to the organized operation of the campground.
While the natural setting and full hookup amenities are appealing, some aspects of the campground's facilities have received mixed feedback from visitors. One reviewer mentioned that the bathrooms were in need of a "good cleaning" and noted the absence of soap or a dispenser for handwashing. This is an important point for potential visitors to consider when planning their trip and packing necessary hygiene supplies.
Another camper recounted an experience with a pre-assigned site that was prone to flooding during rain. However, they also praised the "gracious Host" for assisting them in finding an alternative available site on higher ground. This highlights the helpfulness of the campground staff in addressing unforeseen issues. The process of changing the reservation was facilitated through the online system, ultimately leading to a positive camping experience for this visitor.
The same reviewer also pointed out some specific details about their chosen campsite. They noted that the sewer hookup was a considerable distance from their camper, requiring multiple hoses to connect. Additionally, while the pad was generally level, it exhibited some crumbling. They also mentioned dealing with ants at their site, which is a common occurrence in outdoor environments, and campers should be prepared for such possibilities.
Regarding the bathhouse, the reviewer found it "fine" but mentioned the presence of cobwebs. This suggests that while the facilities are functional, they might benefit from more regular and thorough cleaning. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall sentiment of this reviewer was positive, stating, "I'm glad we chose this campground," indicating that the positive aspects of the location and the people outweighed the inconveniences.
Overall, Oak Grove COE Campground offers a valuable "camping near me" option for local residents seeking a lakeside retreat with the convenience of full hookups. The beautiful lake setting provides opportunities for relaxation and recreation. While some aspects of the facilities, such as bathroom cleanliness and the distance of some hookups, have been noted by visitors, the helpfulness of the camp host and the positive experiences shared by many suggest that Oak Grove COE Campground can be a delightful destination for your next camping adventure. Remember to make your reservations in advance through recreation.gov to secure your spot and ensure a smooth arrival.

Oak Grove COE campground Reviews
FHU campground on a beatiful little lake. I read online that it is First come First serve (not correct). You have to reserve online at recreation.gov, which is hard to do with barely any data coverage(verizon). The camp host WILL come check that you registered. Bathrooms need a good cleaning, no soap/dispenser to wash hands.
Apr 30, 2025 · B YoungWe arrived during wind and rain. I had been warned the site I had #66 would be submerged in water, so the gracious Host and I discussed it right away. I went to the reservation website, we rode around until we found one available for our week - that was on higher ground, #16. I changed the reservation and it was great. The weather cleared! The sewer hookup is a very long way from the camper, would need 4 hoses. The pad is level, but crumbling some. Had to take care of the ants. The bathhouse is fine, if you don't mind cobwebs. Nice people all around. I'm glad we chose this campground.
Aug 08, 2024 · Beverly PriceOur home away from home. It's very peaceful, and the boating is great. Very dog friendly and close to one of the swim beaches.
Sep 24, 2024 · Joann MacklinThe campground itself is beautiful, quit and the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. Only the bathhouse next to us deserves a better cleaning service.
May 21, 2024 · Eberhard BaslerSite #65. The good, it's by the water with nice views, and boat launch. The bad, it's by the boat launch... If you don't mind boats keeping you from sleeping late at night, or early in the morning, then this is your spot.It rained enough last night that it's obvious this is a good spot if you don't care if your seating area is flooded. Not sure why our camp spot wasn't cleaned before we arrived. The picnic table was particularly dirty. The best was the thick layer of cooking grease left by someone slathered on the table top.Price is good for what you get, that's about it. The septic lines are mounted high if your space has one. You'll need something to slope the line. The campground hosts were very nice.Very few OATV channels. 1-2 acceptable Verizon bars.
