Osprey Campground Introduce
Looking for a charming "camping near me" in the Priest River, Idaho area? Osprey Campground, located at 1083 W Lakeshore Rd, Priest River, ID 83856, USA, offers a blend of natural beauty, tranquility, and convenient access to the lake. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides a pleasant experience with its scenic environment and friendly atmosphere.
One of the first things that stands out from the reviews is the aesthetic appeal of Osprey Campground. It's described as "really pretty," indicating a visually pleasing environment that campers appreciate. The campground is also noted for being "nice and quiet," making it an ideal choice for those seeking a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The presence of a "kind host" further enhances the welcoming atmosphere, suggesting that visitors can expect friendly and helpful service during their stay.
The facilities at Osprey Campground include "nicely attended to" bathrooms, which are kept clean. However, it's important to note that there is "no shower area, just toilet/sink." Campers who require showers will need to plan accordingly, perhaps by using portable shower systems or finding facilities outside the campground.
For those who enjoy water activities, Osprey Campground offers access to the lake, although the "beach areas" are described as "not large," they are still "fun to splash around in!" This suggests that while it might not be a sprawling sandy beach, there is still opportunity to enjoy the water for swimming and wading. Additionally, the presence of "beautiful little walking trails all over" indicates that the campground and its surroundings are great for leisurely strolls and exploring the natural beauty of the area.
One reviewer specifically mentioned their positive experience at site 15, noting that it was "really nice and away from other sites," providing a sense of privacy. This site was also conveniently located near the bathroom, which was a plus for campers with children. The site offered a "beautiful view" and was described as "very roomy," with "mostly shade" but also some sun mid-day. However, they did point out that the tent site itself was "on the small side" for a large (10-person) tent and that the entire site was sloped with only one small flat spot. This highlights the importance of considering the specific characteristics of individual campsites when making a reservation.
Another camper described Osprey Campground as "small but great" and recommended sites "closer to the lake." This reinforces the appeal of the lake access and suggests that these lakeside spots might offer particularly nice views or easier access to water activities. The mention of "nice walking trails" again underscores this as a key feature of the campground. The reviewer also noted that it's "close to everything," which could imply proximity to local amenities or attractions in the Priest River area.
In summary, Osprey Campground offers a "camping near me" experience characterized by its pretty and quiet environment, a kind host, and clean (though shower-less) bathrooms. It provides lake access for some water fun and features beautiful walking trails for nature lovers. While some campsites, like site 15, offer spaciousness and nice views, potential campers should be aware of possible slopes and varying tent site sizes. The campground's smaller size contributes to its charm, and its proximity to the lake and possibly other local amenities adds to its appeal.

Osprey Campground Reviews
Really pretty campground. Nice and quiet. Kind host. Bathrooms are nicely attended to. No shower area, just toilet/sink.Not large beach areas but fun to splash around in! Beautiful little walking trails all over.We specifically stayed in site 15. Overall really nice and away from other sites plus we had kids so being close to the bathroom was also nice. Beautiful view. Very roomy campsite, mostly shade but you get sun mid-day. Downside was the tent site was on the small side for our 10 person tent and the entire site is sloped so there really is just the one small flat spot.

Aug 23, 2023 · Timber Turner Gem State Home InspectionsEase of access to water from just about every site. Nice and peaceful. Wonderful grounds keeper.
Jul 26, 2023 · T KFabulous views. Very private, large campsites. A series of very tiny sand beaches adjacent to lakeside sites. One small beach for the upper campsites.
