Luby Bay Campground, situated at 5538 W Lakeshore Rd, Priest River, ID 83856, USA, offers a charming camping experience with added attractions. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground boasts beautiful scenery and convenient access to local points of interest.
One enthusiastic camper shared, "Love this campground!" While they noted that their specific site (number 19) was "a little unkept," they commendably "left it cleaner than I found it" and expressed their intention to return the following year. This suggests that despite minor upkeep issues at individual sites, the overall appeal of Luby Bay Campground is strong enough to warrant a return visit. This positive sentiment indicates a generally pleasant environment and experience.
A crucial piece of practical information provided by another reviewer is regarding payment: "Bring cash or check for paying for the day use or camping." This is important for potential visitors to note, as it indicates that electronic payment methods may not be accepted. For those planning day use, the cost is mentioned as "$8," with "pay posts at the beach parking." This suggests that even if you're not camping overnight, you can enjoy the amenities for a small fee, payable at designated locations.
The same review describes Luby Bay Campground as a "nice little campground" with a "beautiful view." This reinforces the scenic aspect mentioned earlier and suggests a cozy, perhaps smaller, campground that still offers significant visual appeal. The location of Luby Bay Campground is also a notable feature, as it is "Located next to the museum of Luby Bay." This proximity offers campers the opportunity to explore local history and culture conveniently.
Adding to the attractions, the reviewer points out, "There is a beach that’s free at the museum too!" This means that in addition to any beach access directly from the campground, visitors have the option of a free beach located at the adjacent museum. This provides more choices for enjoying the lake and the shoreline.
For those who enjoy walking and exploring, Luby Bay Campground features a "Good walking path along the shore that goes for a long ways." This is a fantastic amenity for campers who like to stretch their legs, take in the lake views, and immerse themselves in the natural surroundings. A long walking path suggests opportunities for leisurely strolls or more extended hikes along the water's edge.

Luby Bay Campground Reviews
Love this campground! Stayed at 19 and it was a little unkept, but I left it cleaner than I found it 😁 Will be back next year!
Aug 07, 2024 · KonradBring cash or check for paying for the day use or camping. Day use is $8 and there are pay posts at the beach parking. Nice little campground and a beautiful view. Located next to the museum of Luby Bay. There is a beach that’s free at the museum too! Good walking path along the shore that goes for a long ways.
May 30, 2018 · Phillip MontourThe campground is nice, you can't always say the same for your camping neighbors. People not controlling barking dogs and using generators clearly too loud for national park guidelines make the trip a little less enjoyable. But the view of nature almost makes up for it.
Sep 21, 2019 · Justin VilhauerIt seems like good campsite for families. Too loud in my opinion, generators, music, party, kids screaming, dogs barking, overall merriment. The campsites are really close so there is no privacy. No regulation of whatever guidelines were set for the campground. I have never been to Priest Lake, I’m hoping there are better campsites with a more chilled atmosphere and connection with nature.
Jul 13, 2024 · B HGreat beach! Nice camp ground. You will not be disappointed. Get there early as the beach fills up quickly. The camp hosts are amazing and full of knowledge. A must visit location.
