Ouachita Baptist Assembly Campground Introduce
Looking for a serene and adventure-filled camping experience in your local area? Within the "camping near me" category, the Ouachita Baptist Assembly Campground, located at 715 Polk County Rd 61, Mena, AR 71953, USA, offers a unique blend of peaceful relaxation and access to outdoor activities. While it operates primarily as a campground, it provides a range of features and services aimed at making your stay comfortable and enjoyable. You can reach them at (479) 394-2019 or mobile +1 479-394-2019 for inquiries and bookings.
The environment of Ouachita Baptist Assembly Campground is consistently described as "Peaceful and Quiet," making it an ideal retreat for those seeking respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Nestled in the scenic landscapes of Mena, Arkansas, it likely benefits from the natural beauty of the surrounding Ouachita Mountains. While specific details about the terrain and vegetation aren't extensively mentioned in the provided reviews, the overall impression is one of a tranquil setting conducive to relaxation and enjoying the outdoors. The presence of a creek with a swimming area further enhances the natural appeal, offering a refreshing way to cool off during warmer months.
In terms of services and features, the campground offers both advantages and some limitations that local users should be aware of. For RV campers, it's noted that at least some sites, like site #1, are equipped with 30amp electrical hookups. However, it's important to note that there are "NO SEWER hookups" at the individual camping sites. The campground does provide a dump station for waste disposal, which is a crucial amenity for RV travelers planning longer stays. Tent campers will also find suitable spots to set up, benefiting from the overall peaceful atmosphere.
One of the notable "Pros" highlighted by visitors is the presence of a swimming area in the creek. While it's important to remember that there is "no lifeguard" on duty, this natural swimming spot offers a unique and enjoyable way to interact with the environment. It's a feature that sets this campground apart and provides a fun recreational option for campers of all ages, with the caveat of parental or guardian supervision for younger children being essential.
For adventure enthusiasts, particularly those who enjoy ATV riding, Ouachita Baptist Assembly Campground offers a significant advantage: the ability to "leave from there and ride to the trails." This direct access to ATV trails is a major draw for those looking to explore the surrounding area on their off-road vehicles. The convenience of riding directly from your campsite to the trails eliminates the need for separate transportation and maximizes your time spent enjoying the activity.
Another appreciated amenity is the provision of a free ice machine. Having access to free ice is a significant convenience for campers, helping to keep food and drinks cold, especially during warmer weather, without incurring additional costs. This thoughtful feature adds to the overall value of staying at the campground.
The management at Ouachita Baptist Assembly Campground also receives positive feedback. The "manger on site AL is super nice and helpful," indicating a commitment to guest satisfaction and providing assistance when needed. Friendly and helpful staff can significantly enhance the camping experience, making guests feel welcome and supported throughout their stay.
However, there are also some "Cons" that potential local users should consider. One significant point is that the "camping sites are very close to each other." This might be a concern for those seeking a more secluded and private camping experience. If you value spacious separation between campsites, this campground might feel a bit crowded, especially during peak seasons.
Another point to be aware of is the restroom and shower facilities. The review mentions "only one toilet and shower together for male and female." This limited number of facilities could lead to potential waiting times, especially when the campground is more occupied. It's a practical consideration, particularly for larger groups or families.
The campground also has a policy regarding pets, with a "pet fee for having a pet at your camp site." Local users planning to bring their furry companions should inquire about the specific fee structure and any rules or regulations pertaining to pets on the property. It's essential to factor this additional cost into your budget.
Finally, it's noted that "No drinking and smoking" are posted at the entrance. This indicates that the campground maintains a family-friendly and potentially faith-based environment, which might be a significant factor for some local users when choosing a camping destination. It's important to respect these rules to ensure a harmonious experience for all guests.
Promotional information isn't explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the recurring themes of a "Peaceful and Quiet area," access to a "swimming area in the creek," and the ability to "ATV ... to the trails" serve as strong selling points for local users seeking these specific experiences. The positive mention of the friendly management and the availability of free ice further enhance the appeal.
Considering all the feedback, Ouachita Baptist Assembly Campground offers a welcoming and activity-rich camping option for locals in the Mena, Arkansas area. Its strengths lie in its tranquil atmosphere, the unique creek swimming opportunity, direct access to ATV trails, and helpful management. However, potential visitors should be mindful of the closely spaced campsites, the limited restroom and shower facilities, the pet fee, and the no drinking and smoking policy. If these aspects align with your preferences and needs, this campground could be an excellent choice for your next "camping near me" adventure.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding availability, pricing (including the pet fee), and any current promotions, it is always recommended to contact the Ouachita Baptist Assembly Campground directly at (479) 394-2019 or +1 479-394-2019. They will be able to provide you with the specific details you need to plan your local camping trip effectively.

Ouachita Baptist Assembly Campground Reviews
We stayed in site #1. It's a 30amp site. The Cons here are, the camping sites are very close to each other. NO SEWER hookup but a dump station. A pet fee for having a pet a your camp site, and I also would say have only one toilet and shower together for male and female. No drinking and smoking posted at the entrance. The Pros are Peaceful and Quiet area, there is a swimming area in the creek no lifeguard and if you ATV you can leave from there and ride to the trails. There is an ice machine for free ice. The manger on site AL is super nice and helpful. All in all not a bad place to relax and ride. We will be back after church camp is over.

Jun 02, 2022 · Debra DoddI hate to leave a review because I don’t want other people to find out how good this place is. But, this place was amazing quiet and the staff were so friendly. It was like home away from home. Please don’t go…
