Paris Landing State Park Campground Introduce
For local users seeking a camping destination that combines natural beauty with essential amenities, Paris Landing State Park Campground, located in Buchanan, TN 38222, USA, offers an appealing option within the "camping near me" category. Situated along the shores of Kentucky Lake, this campground, reachable at (731) 641-4465 or +1 731-641-4465, provides a gateway to a variety of outdoor activities and the scenic landscapes of a Tennessee State Park. While some aspects of the campground layout have received feedback, the overall experience is often characterized by its great location, friendly staff, and clean facilities, making it a popular choice for those looking to enjoy the lake and surrounding nature.
The environment of Paris Landing State Park Campground is undoubtedly a major draw. Its prime location on Kentucky Lake offers campers easy access to the vast recreational opportunities the lake provides, including boating, fishing, and watersports. The presence of a boat ramp directly within the campground is a significant advantage for those looking to launch their boats and explore the lake. Beyond the water, the state park itself likely offers opportunities for hiking and exploring the natural surroundings, although specific trail information isn't detailed in the provided reviews. The recent updates to the campsites with fresh gravel suggest an ongoing effort to maintain and improve the grounds. While some campsites are noted as being unlevel, the overall setting provides a classic lakeside camping experience.
Paris Landing State Park Campground offers both electric and primitive campsites to cater to different camping preferences. The electric sites are equipped with both 30A and 50A service, accommodating a range of RV sizes and power needs. Water hookups are also available at these sites. For those seeking a more traditional camping experience, primitive sites are also offered. The ground at the campsites is primarily gravel. While shade is mentioned as "partial," campers should likely prepare for varying levels of sun exposure depending on their specific site. A significant amenity is the availability of Wi-Fi, although connectivity is reported as "soso" for at least one mobile carrier (AT&T), so internet reliability may vary.
One of the standout services highlighted in the reviews is the cleanliness of the facilities, particularly the bathhouse, which is described as "extremely clean" and "pretty new." This is a significant factor for camper comfort and hygiene. While the showers are reported as having warm water, some users have noted that the temperature could be hotter. The friendly and helpful nature of the staff is also consistently praised, contributing to a positive overall experience at the campground.
A unique feature of Paris Landing State Park Campground, as mentioned in a review, is its somewhat "odd" layout. The presence of one-way loops, combined with some campsites being oriented backward, may require some careful navigation for arriving campers, particularly those with larger RVs. It's advisable to pay close attention to signage and the layout upon arrival to avoid any inconvenience. Despite this unusual layout, the functionality of the campsites, especially with the recent gravel updates, appears to be generally good.
In terms of promotional information and fees, Paris Landing State Park Campground charges $31 per day for electric sites and $18 per day for primitive sites. Additionally, there is a $5 reservation fee plus applicable taxes. This pricing structure offers options for different budgets and camping styles. The value proposition lies in the combination of lakeside access, essential amenities like electricity and water at some sites, clean facilities, and the natural beauty of a Tennessee State Park. The presence of a boat ramp further enhances its appeal for those interested in boating and fishing on Kentucky Lake.
While one reviewer noted an unlevel picnic table at their site, preventing its use, this seems to be an isolated issue and not representative of the overall campsite conditions, especially given the recent updates. However, it's something to be aware of upon arrival. The proximity to a "big boat ramp" is repeatedly mentioned as a positive aspect, particularly for those planning to spend time on Kentucky Lake.
In conclusion, Paris Landing State Park Campground in Buchanan, TN, offers a compelling option for those seeking "camping near me" on the shores of Kentucky Lake. Its great location provides easy access to the lake and its recreational activities, complemented by essential amenities such as electric and water hookups at many sites, a convenient boat ramp, and notably clean facilities. The friendly staff contributes to a positive atmosphere. While the campground layout may present a minor navigational challenge and some campsites might have uneven surfaces, the overall experience, combined with the reasonable fees and the beauty of the state park setting, makes Paris Landing State Park Campground a worthwhile destination for a lakeside camping getaway in Tennessee.

Paris Landing State Park Campground Reviews
Great location, friendly staff, and clean facilities. The campground layout is odd though. There are a couple of one way loops, but some of the campsites are backwards, so you have to drive the wrong way on a one way. Campsites appear to be recently updated with fresh gravel. Several of the sites are unlevel. Our picnic table was sitting at a visible slant, so we didn’t get to use that. The bathhouse was extremely clean and seemed to be pretty new. Very impressed with that!

Apr 22, 2025 · Kenji “Ken-D” YamadaRented a camping cabin and it was wonderful. Two full beds, mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot along with heat and A/C.Went between Christmas and New Years and it was so quiet and peaceful.I added some Christmas lights to outside cabin to make it festive.I went as a solo camper, felt very safe.
Dec 29, 2024 · Angel VIt would be the most amazing place except it’s extremely dangerous!!!!!!!! Not for families with children or the retirees. No security after 5:00 pm . Parties at the marina parking lots are so loud you won’t sleep. The idling of the trucks are hours long. The mischievous shenanigans that happen after you go in your tent or camper all night in your camp site are scary and harassing. Peaking in widows, slapping the side of your camper or tent all night. Shining beams of lights into your camp site. Things messed with . Sounds of foot steps around the tent and camper were none stop every night .The list goes on. I reported all of it. Was lied to about having security all night. Then told by another ranger that nope no one is here after hours. Homeless people hanging around all hours of the night just walking around , using and hanging in and around the bath houses wreaking the bathrooms. Widow maker trees everywhere. No less then 4 giant trees went down during my stay. And huge limbs fell extremely close to my tent and camper .If we wasn’t prepaid I would have left. The workers are nice. But it’s lawless when they leave. Scared for my life tonight while I write this post. So much more. Like no rest. I’m exhausted. It’s 3:30 am and been tortured all night. I hear someone right now !!!!! The “ Lodge “ ? Anyway thought I saw some kind of ritual going on in the woods. Also things like charms being left at the door of my tent. And strange bone and rocks on the side of my tent? True! Dorothy was very nice and accommodating. She was very nice.
Jul 22, 2024 · Rebecca HowardSite 57 was great! Private, wooded, close to showers and restrooms. Clean bathrooms full amenities and good water pressure. Kind of wish there were more to the few trails that link to the tent loops but there isn't. Luckily there is plenty of park surrounding the campgrounds. Primitive is the way I prefer to camp and this site was a far better option than site 46 which is what I had originally planned and luckily the Park Staff allowed me to swap at check-in.
