Plant Vogtle Campground Introduce
For individuals seeking "camping near me" in the vicinity of Waynesboro, Georgia, particularly those working at or near Plant Vogtle, Plant Vogtle Campground, located at 3567 Hancock Rd, Waynesboro, GA 30830, USA, presents a potentially convenient option. The campground can be contacted at (706) 833-1233 or +1 706-833-1233. Based on available customer reviews, this campground appears to primarily serve as temporary housing for those employed at the nearby plant, offering proximity to the job site as a key feature.
The environment of Plant Vogtle Campground, while not extensively described in terms of natural beauty, is mentioned as having a "friendly and quiet neighborhood." This suggests a community atmosphere within the campground, which could be appealing for individuals staying for longer durations due to work assignments. However, one reviewer notes that accessing the campground involves traveling up and down a "mile long Dirt road," which can become "very difficult when the rain hits." This is a significant environmental factor that local users should be aware of, potentially affecting vehicle access and overall comfort, especially during periods of inclement weather.
In terms of services, the reviews provide limited direct information. One reviewer mentions "scarce management," which could imply limited on-site staff availability or responsiveness. This is a point of concern for local users who may value readily available assistance or support during their stay. The campground likely offers basic camping infrastructure such as parking spaces for RVs or areas for tents, but specific details regarding hookups (water, electricity, sewer) are not provided in the reviews. Given its apparent focus on longer-term stays for workers, it is probable that some level of utility connections are available, but this would need to be confirmed directly with the campground management.
One of the primary features highlighted in the reviews is the campground's proximity to Plant Vogtle. One reviewer states that depending on the specific unit (Vogtle 1+2), the drive time can vary from "5 minuets to 45 minuets." Another reviewer explicitly mentions, "u r 5mins from the job.u will be in and out of traffic quick." This close proximity is a significant advantage for those working at the plant, potentially saving time and reducing the stress of a long commute. For local users temporarily working at the facility or contractors needing accommodation nearby, this could be a crucial factor in choosing this campground.
However, the convenience of location appears to come at a cost. Both reviewers mention that the campground is "extremely expensive" and "a bit over priced for such a small place." This suggests that local users considering Plant Vogtle Campground should be prepared for potentially higher rates compared to other campgrounds in the area. It would be advisable to inquire about the pricing structure and what amenities are included to determine if it aligns with their budget and needs.
One reviewer also commented that the "Furniture should have been new for the price," implying that some form of accommodation, possibly cabins or longer-term RV rentals provided by the campground, might be available. The condition of these furnishings being a concern suggests that the overall value proposition might be questionable for some users, especially given the reported high cost.
Considering the "camping near me" platform category, Plant Vogtle Campground serves a specific niche, primarily catering to individuals working at the nearby industrial facility. While it offers the significant advantage of close proximity to the job site, local users not affiliated with Plant Vogtle might find the reported high prices and the challenging access via a dirt road to be deterrents. The "scarce management" mentioned in one review could also be a concern for those seeking a more supported camping experience.
Given the limited and somewhat negative feedback regarding price and management, it is crucial for local users considering this campground to conduct thorough due diligence. Contacting the campground directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about current rates, specific amenities, the condition of the facilities, and the nature of the management would be essential. Understanding the availability of RV hookups, tent sites (if any), restroom and shower facilities, laundry options, and any other services is vital before making a reservation.
The reviews do not provide any information about promotional offers or discounts that might be available. Local users, especially those planning an extended stay due to work, should inquire about potential long-term rates or any other special offers that could help offset the reported high costs. It is possible that the pricing reflects the demand for accommodation near a major industrial site like Plant Vogtle.
In conclusion, Plant Vogtle Campground offers a key advantage for individuals working at or near Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro, GA: its close proximity to the job site. This can translate to a shorter commute and more convenience for those on work assignments. However, potential drawbacks highlighted in customer reviews include high prices, a challenging dirt road access, and scarce management. Local users considering this "camping near me" option should weigh the convenience of location against the reported costs and potential limitations in services and infrastructure. Direct communication with the campground management is strongly recommended to obtain current information and assess if it meets individual needs and expectations.

Scarce management, extremely expensive. Depending what time you have to get to Vogtle 1+2 your drive will vary from 5 minuets to 45 minuets.

Neighborhood is friendly and quiet..
Feb 04, 2020 · Curtis ThomasExtremely expensive place to stay! Management lives in Florida. Campers are in terrible shape. Bathroom sink doesn't work. Black water drain pipe leaks. Causing horrible smells! Water seal in the toilet leaks causing disgusting smells that will wake you up. Keep looking much cheaper places not far away. No deposit returned after leaving the camper in exactly the same way as when arriving. They only care about one thing. And that's how much $ they can get from you.
Apr 03, 2018 · Eric WoodThe management are good nice people. It is 5 mins or less to job site vogtle 3 and 4 the road is maintained every time it rains but still will face bumps if you are here for work cabin is the way to go
Jan 27, 2021 · Brian BianchiMy hot water went out and I had just paid rent I've went two days so far without water. I called the owner he said he ordered a part and hopefully would be there the next day but wasn't making any promises . he said if I didn't want to live in those conditions the best thing he could tell me is find somewhere else to move. Mind you he has several other empty campers and cabins that he could have offered for me to stay there until the water is fixed. Also do not rent any of the campers you pay 200.00 weekly and that's supposed to be everything included satalite and WiFi also in the campers the satalite only picks up a few channels and WiFi does not work. The owner is very rude . he also works at plant Vogtle so he knows after a long day there you want a hot shower!! I gave it two stars only because I had to give some kinda stars to write the review so I really give 0 stars!! Also you get one eye to cook on a toaster oven that you basically can only cook toast in. When you cook and run the air the breakers trip! Its a crappy place should be way better for the price! He knows ppl have to have a place to stay and its close to the plant so he sticks it to ya!
