Pond View Campground Introduce
Are you searching for the perfect "camping near me" experience in South Carolina, specifically around the Richburg area? Look no further than Pond View Campground, a welcoming and well-maintained RV campground offering a comfortable and convenient stay. While our platform category focuses on connecting local users with nearby camping options, Pond View Campground stands out as a prime destination for those seeking quality RV accommodations.
Located at 3347 Mountain Gap Rd, Richburg, SC 29729, USA, Pond View Campground provides a serene environment for travelers exploring the region or those in need of longer-term stays. You can easily reach them by phone at (803) 970-9924 or their mobile number, +1 803-970-9924, to inquire about availability and make reservations. Based on feedback from actual campers, Pond View Campground has established a reputation for its friendly management and excellent facilities, particularly catering to self-contained RVs.
One recurring theme in guest reviews is the exceptional hospitality provided by Mickey and Michael, the father-and-son team who manage the campground. Their dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay is evident in the positive experiences shared by visitors. For those with larger RVs, such as 45-foot motorcoaches, navigating the campground and accessing the sites is reportedly hassle-free. This ease of access is a significant advantage, especially for those who might be concerned about maneuvering larger vehicles in tighter campground layouts.
The individual campsites at Pond View Campground are designed with practicality and comfort in mind. Each site features a level limestone surface, ensuring stability for your RV. Moreover, the campground offers comprehensive hookups, including 50/30/20 amp electrical power. Notably, even during the heat of the South Carolina summer, guests have reported consistent and strong voltage, a crucial factor for running RV appliances and air conditioning without issues. Additionally, each site is equipped with well water, which is described as having a good taste, and a sewer connection, providing all the essential utilities for a comfortable stay.
It's important to note that Pond View Campground operates as a facility exclusively for fully self-contained RVs. This means that there are no public restrooms or shower facilities available on-site. Therefore, to stay at Pond View Campground, your RV must have its own bathroom and shower. This focus on self-contained units ensures a certain level of privacy and convenience for guests who prefer or require these amenities within their own vehicle.
For pet owners, Pond View Campground is a welcoming destination. They are pet-friendly, understanding that for many travelers, their furry companions are an integral part of their journey. However, as responsible pet owners, guests are expected to "do the right thing" and clean up after their pets to maintain the cleanliness and enjoyment of the campground for everyone.
Adding to the unique appeal of Pond View Campground is its proximity to Rocky Creek Sporting Clays, located directly across the road. For those unfamiliar with the sport, clay shooting is often described as "golf with a shotgun," simulating the experience of field shooting with clay targets. During certain times, such as large tournaments, there can be significant shooting activity at Rocky Creek. However, the management of Pond View Campground is proactive in informing guests about such events in advance. According to a guest who stayed during a large tournament, the noise was not bothersome, and safety is paramount in clay shooting activities. This proximity offers a unique recreational opportunity for those interested in trying or participating in sporting clays.
In contrast to the positive experiences at Pond View Campground, one review highlights a negative encounter with another nearby campground, Oak Grove Plantation. This review details a reservation being canceled without notice due to someone else supposedly having a greater "need" for the spot. The reviewer expresses understandable frustration at the lack of communication and the perceived lack of integrity. This anecdote serves as an indirect testament to the reliable and communicative management at Pond View Campground, where guests feel their reservations are honored and they are treated with consideration.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Pond View Campground offers a compelling option, especially for RV owners seeking a well-equipped and conveniently located site. Its features include:
- Spacious and level limestone sites
- Full hookups: 50/30/20 amp electrical power, well water, and sewer
- Pet-friendly environment (with responsible pet ownership)
- Easy navigation for large RVs
- Friendly and responsive management
- Proximity to recreational activities at Rocky Creek Sporting Clays
While Pond View Campground primarily caters to longer-term contractors, they also welcome short-term stays for fully self-contained RVs. It's always recommended to contact Mickey or Michael directly at (803) 970-9924 or +1 803-970-9924 to check availability and make reservations. Their willingness to communicate openly and honestly with potential guests, as highlighted in the positive reviews, ensures a transparent and reliable booking process.
In summary, if you are a local user in the Richburg, South Carolina area or are passing through and searching for a dependable RV campground, Pond View Campground is definitely worth considering. Pond View Campground Reviews
We stayed a month Aug/Sept 2023 and had a great stay. Both Mickey and Michael (father & son) run the campground and are super nice folks. Mostly long term contractors staying here. We have a 45 ft motorcoach and had no problems navigating. Large sites, 50/30/20 amp power (even in the heat of a SC summer voltage stayed strong), well water (tastes fine), and sewer. You must have a fully self-contained RV to stay here - no public restrooms/shower, etc. All the sites are limestone and level. They are pet-friendly - just do the right thing and clean-up after your pet.Across the road is Rocky Creek Sporting Clays. Clay shooting is the closest thing to actual field shooting of all shotgun sports. Golf with a shotgun. During our stay a large tournament was taking place so lots of shooting was going on. We were warned in advance of our stay and honestly, we were never bothered. Safety is Job#1 in clay shooting. Bottom line, if considering a stay, get in contact with Mickey or Michael as we can recommend staying at Pond View Campground just south of Richburg.
Sep 27, 2024 · Desert Rocks Steve Mondl (Steve Mondl)I made a reservation with Oak Grove Plantation. They gave my spot to someone else "who needed it". No notice to me, no call, no nothing. Just gave my spot to someone else. Mickey told me "they needed it". Baffling. Why do they take reservations if they will cancel it with no thought and no notice to you? They could have, at a minimum, contacted me. Useless. Save yourself the trouble, no integrity there.
Jun 18, 2024 · Todd Whalen (Advanced Tax Solutions)We've stayed at a lot of campgrounds and this one is definitely one of our favorites. The prices are more than reasonable and the property is beautiful. It's the perfect place to be if you like to be in the country. We enjoyed visiting with all of our neighbors and the property owners are wonderful people who take care of their residents. We'll definitely stay here again.
Aug 14, 2021 · Courtney BooneThis is a great place to stay I was a resident for several months. The campground is very clean quiet and reasonably priced. Mickey is a great guy and runs a first class place. (Keep in mind they are located adjacent to one of the premier sporting clay ranges in the South. If the sound of gunfire upsets you then this might not be the place for you)
