Rivahgetaway Introduce
For local residents in North Carolina, particularly those in the vicinity of Elizabethtown, seeking a unique "camping near me" experience that combines the comfort of a spacious cabin with the allure of waterfront living, Rivahgetaway, located at 181 Riverview Rd, offers a compelling option. Situated on the banks of the Cape Fear River, this cabin rental, discovered on VRBO, promises a relaxing and amenity-rich escape for families and groups looking for a riverside retreat.
The primary draw of Rivahgetaway is undoubtedly its location on the Cape Fear River. Riverfront accommodations offer a special connection with nature, providing opportunities for scenic views, the soothing sounds of flowing water, and a variety of recreational activities directly accessible from the property. Imagine spending your days fishing from the private dock, exploring the river in the provided canoes or boat, or simply lounging by the water and enjoying the natural surroundings. For locals seeking a water-centric getaway, Rivahgetaway offers direct access to the beauty and recreational potential of the Cape Fear River.
The cabin itself is described as a spacious 4-bedroom, 2-bath accommodation, making it suitable for larger families or groups traveling together. This ample space ensures that everyone can comfortably settle in and enjoy their time at the retreat. However, it's important to note a unique aspect of the layout mentioned by a reviewer: one of the bedrooms is not entirely private, as it serves as a walkthrough to the master bedroom and the second floor. While this might not be an issue for all groups, it's a factor to consider regarding privacy and accessibility within the cabin.
The journey to Rivahgetaway involves navigating a "long narrow dirt road," a detail that potential guests should be aware of when planning their trip. The reviewer recommends having an SUV or truck due to the nature of this access road. Local residents with such vehicles will likely find this manageable, but those with low-riding cars should exercise caution. This slightly secluded access likely contributes to the peaceful and private atmosphere of the retreat, away from the hustle and bustle of more trafficked areas.
Despite the access road, the grounds of Rivahgetaway are described as "beautiful," suggesting well-maintained outdoor spaces that enhance the overall experience. The cabin boasts "lots of outdoor eating and entertaining spaces," indicating that guests can fully enjoy the riverside setting for meals and gatherings. The presence of "decks, lounges, hammock" further emphasizes the opportunities for relaxation and enjoying the scenic views. These outdoor amenities are perfect for soaking in the natural ambiance and spending quality time with family and friends.
For those interested in recreational activities, Rivahgetaway offers a "fishing dock" for easy access to angling on the Cape Fear River. The inclusion of "canoes" and a "boat" provides additional avenues for exploring the river at your own pace. Whether you're an avid angler or simply enjoy paddling and being on the water, these amenities add significant value to the riverside experience.
As evening approaches, guests can take advantage of the "fire pit" for cozy gatherings under the stars, perfect for roasting marshmallows and sharing stories. Another appealing feature is the "hot tub," offering a relaxing way to unwind after a day of activities or simply enjoy the peaceful riverside setting in warm, bubbling water.
It's important for potential guests to be aware of certain additional fees mentioned by the reviewer. Features like the "hot tub, fire wood, pets, more than 4 guests, linens and towels" incur an extra charge. While the reviewer found this "kinda of strange," they still deemed the overall experience "worth it." Local users considering a stay should factor these potential extra costs into their budget and inquire about the specific fees when booking.
The reviewer recommends Rivahgetaway for a "weekend trip," suggesting that while the cabin and its immediate surroundings offer plenty to enjoy, a longer stay might lead to boredom due to a perceived lack of activities in the broader area. For local residents seeking a short and sweet escape focused on riverside relaxation and the amenities of the cabin, a weekend at Rivahgetaway could be ideal. However, those looking for a week-long vacation with numerous off-site attractions might need to consider the surrounding area's offerings.
The host, Dale, is described as "very responsive and friendly" to questions, indicating good communication and customer service for those booking the cabin through platforms like VRBO. This positive interaction with the host can contribute significantly to a smooth and enjoyable rental experience.
In conclusion, Rivahgetaway offers a unique "camping near me" experience for local residents seeking a riverside escape on the Cape Fear River. The spacious 4-bedroom cabin, coupled with amenities like a hot tub, fishing dock, canoes, and a boat, provides ample opportunities for relaxation and recreation. While the access road might require a suitable vehicle and certain features incur extra fees, the beautiful grounds and direct river access create a compelling retreat for weekend getaways. Local users interested in a waterfront cabin experience should consider Rivahgetaway for their next short vacation.

Rivahgetaway Reviews
We spent Labor Day weekend at the Rivahgetaway Cabin in Elizabeth Town, NC on Cape Fear. It was a real nice time. I found this cabin on VRBO and the host Dale was very responsive and friendly to all my questions. It was a 4 bedroom 2 bath cabin although 1 of the bedrooms was not private you had to walk through it to get to the master bedroom and to get from the 1st floor to the 2nd. The road leading into the cabin is a long narrow dirt road, that we weren’t aware of, so best if you have a SUV or Truck. But other than that, the ground are beautiful, lots of outdoor eating and entertaining spaces, decks, lounges, hammock, fishing dock, canoes, boat, fire pit and hot tub. Some features like the hot tub, fire wood, pets, more than 4 guests, linens and towels are an extra fee which I thought was kinda of strange but it was still worth it. I would recommend a weekend trip. More than that you might get a little bored as there isn’t too much to do in the area to keep you busy for a week I don’t think.
