Gilligans Island Resort Campground Introduce
Are you a local user in the Elizabethtown, North Carolina area searching for a distinctive "camping near me" experience, particularly if you are an RV enthusiast or interested in a seasonal campsite near White Lake? Gilligans Island Resort Campground, located at 122 Marshburn Cir, Elizabethtown, NC 28337, USA, presents an interesting option. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground offers a unique setup with a mix of temporary RV sites for campers and permanent sites available for purchase to place a camper year-round, albeit with specific conditions.
The environment of Gilligans Island Resort Campground appears to be centered around its proximity to White Lake, a well-known recreational area in North Carolina. One reviewer mentioned a "very beautiful site by the lake," indicating the potential for picturesque waterfront camping. However, this same reviewer noted that noise might be an issue at this particular site due to a midnight curfew not always being observed, suggesting a lively atmosphere, especially during peak season. Another reviewer described the campground as a "party campground during summertime," which could be appealing to those seeking a social and active camping environment but less so for those prioritizing peace and quiet.
One reviewer who stayed in a "clean bungalow" for a weekend getaway described the community as "quiet" and the bed as "very comfortable," suggesting that the campground may also offer some non-RV lodging options, although the second reviewer explicitly stated, "They only have. Rv sites for campers." This discrepancy indicates that the availability of bungalows might be limited or subject to change. The first reviewer's only minor complaint was a "small shower," which is a practical consideration for some visitors.
The services and features of Gilligans Island Resort Campground seem tailored primarily to RV campers. The availability of permanent sites for sale, where individuals can place their campers year-round (with the stipulation of leveling the campground for at least two weeks annually and the understanding that it cannot be a permanent home), is a unique feature. This setup could appeal to local users who frequent the White Lake area and desire a consistent camping spot without the hassle of repeated setup and teardown. However, it's important to note that some "grandfathered" sites may exist from previous ownership with different conditions.
The second reviewer highlighted a potential issue with three sites located near the road, where an individual across from them allegedly engages in inconsiderate behavior, including not cleaning up after their four dogs. This suggests that the experience within the campground can vary depending on the specific location of the campsite and the behavior of other individuals. The invitations to a Halloween party and an oyster roast during a three-month stay indicate that the campground fosters a sense of community and organizes social events, which can be a significant draw for those seeking interaction and a lively atmosphere.
Promotional aspects for Gilligans Island Resort Campground could focus on its location near White Lake, the availability of seasonal RV sites, and the community events that are organized. For local users with RVs who enjoy a social camping environment, particularly during the summer, the "party campground" atmosphere could be a selling point. The opportunity to purchase a permanent site for seasonal use offers a unique value proposition for those who frequent the area. Highlighting the lake access and any specific amenities related to water activities would also be beneficial. The mentions of organized events like the Halloween party and oyster roast could be used to promote the sense of community and the opportunities for social interaction.
However, it is crucial for potential visitors to be aware of the potential downsides mentioned in the reviews, such as noise from the lakefront site at night, the alleged inconsiderate behavior near some of the road-front sites, and the possibility of cliques forming within the community. The small shower in the bungalow (if available) might also be a consideration for some. An objective introduction must include these points to provide a balanced perspective for local users searching for "camping near me."
For local users considering Gilligans Island Resort Campground, especially those with RVs and an interest in a seasonal site near White Lake with a potentially lively summer atmosphere and community events, further investigation is recommended. Contacting the campground directly using the provided phone numbers, (910) 400-1614 or +1 910-400-1614, would be essential to inquire about the availability of temporary and permanent RV sites, the specific rules and regulations regarding permanent sites, the location and potential noise levels of different campsites, and the availability (if any) of non-RV lodging like the bungalow mentioned. Asking about the schedule of community events and any specific amenities offered would also be beneficial in making an informed decision.
In conclusion, Gilligans Island Resort Campground offers a unique RV-centric camping experience near White Lake in Elizabethtown, NC. Its blend of temporary RV sites and permanent seasonal sites, along with its reputation as a "party campground during summertime" and the organization of community events, could appeal to a specific segment of local users seeking a social and active camping environment. However, potential visitors should also be aware of the reported issues regarding noise near the lakefront, inconsiderate behavior in certain areas, and the small shower in at least one of the lodging options. Direct communication with the campground is crucial for local users to determine if Gilligans Island Resort Campground aligns with their preferences and expectations for a "camping near me" experience.

A well deserved weekend getaway. Quiet community. Clean bungalow. Very comfortable bed 🛏️❤️. The only "complaint" is the small shower, but I am a big guy. LOL
Mar 23, 2025 · David SechrestSo we moved from koa Lumberton, NC to whitelake, NC due to a hurricane back in AUGUST. Gillian’s Island RV Resort. We were here for 3-4 months.Very interesting place to stay. They only have. Rv sites for campers but they have permanent sites that are for sale to put a camper on all year round. But you have to level the campground for at least 2 weeks a year. It can not be a permanent home. There are some that are grandfathered in from previous owner. The is 3 sites up front close to road. Be careful due to 1 being able to do what they want across from the 3 sites. They have 4 dogs that they do not pick up poop. Then there is 1 site by the lake , a very beautiful site but if you want to sleep that might be an issue as curfew is midnight. So it gets loud in this spot. This campground is a party campground during summertime. Some people are very nice here. Dec 20, 2024 · jana pecherekI recently stayed at Gilligans Island Resort/Campground, and had an amazing experience! The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the check-in process was smooth. Our deluxe overnight spot had the best views, easy access to the pool/lake, and even an ice cream shop across the road! The campground is beautifully maintained with spacious sites and plenty of activities near by. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake, and relaxing by the pool with the kids.Overall, Gilligans Island exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to return and make more great memories!
Aug 04, 2024 · Jessica AllenThis is our 3rd visit and 2nd review for this place and once again overwelmed with how great this community is. We rented the mansion this time and had our wedding in the courtyard. Jeff and Linda went way above our expectations and I am blown away for how supportative and helpful they were. You are not going to find a place this beautiful for the price ANYWHERE.The mansion is extremely spacious and the kitchen is stocked for pretty much anything you need. We had 10 people staying and a lot of the time we didnt even know anyone was there. But the community areas inside and outside the house are huge and we were able to gather together and have a blast without being cramped at all.As far as a wedding venue, we could not have found anyplace better. The courtyard being on the lake created a perfect backdrop for the wedding and a ton of picture opportunities. We also rented the pavilion they had for the reception and it also turned out to be more than perfect. Linda was absoutely amazing and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. If you have never been here, you will not be disappointed. We have made friends with quite a few people in this community and can not wait to come back! Thank you Jeff, Linda and the rest of your staff you all are amazing.
Sep 16, 2024 · Jimmy MartinWe stayed in one of their glamping sites and the camper had plenty of space, bunk room and living space had room to move around in and the front porch was nice. The AC does need to be replaced and we were told that in advance we just needed to make sure the door stayed shut but it was hot. (Not to have a lot of in and out). We ended up bringing two fans and spending money on two more. The grounds are very nice. Water area nice. Inside pavilion was too hot inside to enjoy during the day and closed early, but looked like a nice place. Pool area looked nice didn’t get a chance to use it. Over all nice quiet campground and our only complaints would be the AC. Kids enjoyed exploring white lake area and swimming at night. We would definitely stay again. 💞
