River Ridge Campground Reviews
Awesome camping. It's on a prime river location and the owner offers good communication. He sent us a text saying he would be off the premises when we arrived and would return that evening. Everything is clean and works as it should. What my wife and I really like is that the spots are spacious and quiet. Kinda feels... undiscovered. It's a great place to enjoy the river.
Aug 05, 2024 · Justin HodgeWe had such a lovely time at this small campground on the river that has a nice balance between providing amenities and keeping enough of a rustic forest feel. After kayaking down the river from town and getting out at or campsite, we had dinner watching the river flow, the beaver swim and the fireflies twinkle. We also had fun on their round swings. Joe was extremely helpful, kind and accommodating. And the cat was a very welcoming greeter!
May 20, 2024 · K CWe stayed on the campsite for 3 nights. The river runs through the campsite which is pretty cool. The roads towards the site are very narrow. Not for faint heart. Low hanging tree branch along the way. Do not try to come here at night, it will be hard. It's pretty dark. We didn't see any staff or the office. They seem to be closed even during office hours which is inconvenient when you want to do laundry, it's inside the office. If you are looking for overnight do not bother to come here. The road is not worth it.
Jul 18, 2024 · Sharon WildeGreat river front campground.Owners are very helpful. Just ask, any they will deliver. The river in front is deep enough to swim a mile up stream without much current. If you are a swimmer, this section of the river is the best!!Shade, easy access to highway perfect road and camping flat pad. New elec 50/30 septic no smell. We have traveled around the US. Have never found an RV park the breaks the 5 star rating. If your visiting the area, don't miss this one!!Thank you owners, for making our summer river experience a dream to remember.
Jul 29, 2023 · Tom PatasMy family and I were supposed to go camping this past weekend the 5th-7th, mind you I booked this site on January 20th of this year. Whenever I booked the site there wasn't any sites available for the 4th. That's why I only booked the 5-7, also the only sites that were available were sites 11 and 5. I chose site 11. We have camped here a couple times before hand so we know pretty much what all the sites look like so that's why we chose 11. I get an email on July 3rd from the owner asking if I wanted to move to site 10 because he had a bigger camper coming in needing site 11. I told him that I was sorry but no. (I know what site 10 looks like and it's very tight as it's between two trees.) He messaged back and said "ok". Then sent a separate email stating: "it is supposed to be a 3 night minimum on all holidays but we were going to let that go because you are repeat customers." I sent back "okay thanks" and that was the end of the conversation. I then get an email the next day which is the 4th: "We appreciate you returning to camp but I need site 11 for a bigger camper. I don’t like doing it but it’s a last minute decision that I’m making. You can go on site 10 and get a free non holiday weekend due to you in the future or you can choose to be upset and I’ll be glad to send you all your money back and forfeit any site here this weekend. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are hoping you will understand and work with us here." I asked him why wasn't something said back in January whenever I booked the site it wasn't such a problem then whenever he took my money. I told him it wasn't a good way to run a business, and he then stated that his LONG TIME friends were coming in and it was a last minute deal. Needless to say he gave me my money back and I won't be bullied into changing sites just because his "friends" came in. Should be first come first serve. Because of his last minute decision we couldn't go camping this weekend, I was trying to be nice and support a small business. It was very dirty the way we were done and I WON'T BE BACK.
