Rivers Bend Campground Introduce
Looking for a conveniently located "camping near me" in Ohio, particularly if you're a motorcyclist exploring the scenic routes around Coolville? Rivers Bend Campground, situated at 1051 OH-144, Coolville, OH 45723, USA, might be a suitable option. You can contact them at (740) 667-3530 or their mobile number +1 740-667-3530 to inquire about availability. Based on the available customer reviews, Rivers Bend Campground offers a no-frills, budget-friendly experience, especially appealing to tent campers and motorcyclists.
One reviewer mentioned a "great location" but noted that the campground "needs a good scrubbing." This suggests that while the setting is appealing, the cleanliness might be an area for improvement. They found "the price is right for motorcycle tent campers," indicating affordability for this specific type of traveler. However, they also pointed out the limited facilities, mentioning "no wash basin and only one toilet and shower." This is crucial information for potential visitors to consider regarding their comfort and hygiene needs.
Another reviewer echoed the sentiment that this is a "good camping spot for any motorcyclist traveling the 555 or any of the good local roads." This strongly positions Rivers Bend Campground as a convenient stop for those exploring the area on two wheels. They noted the presence of "a few areas for tent groups," suggesting it can accommodate small gatherings of tent campers. While this reviewer did not bring a motorhome, their experience at many campgrounds led them to not fixate on the "perfect" campground. Instead, they "key on the owners and workers at the spot," and they had a positive interaction with the owner/caretaker who was there, stating that this person "took care of us and gave flavor to the experience." Their stay included activities like fishing, eating, and drinking, followed by hitting the local roads the next morning, indicating that the campground serves as a functional base for enjoying the surrounding area.
A third reviewer offered a more philosophical perspective, describing Rivers Bend Campground as "one of those campgrounds that need to exist." They drew a parallel to supporting "Mom-n-Pop food places," suggesting that staying here is a way to support a small, perhaps more traditional, camping operation. This implies a certain charm or character that might appeal to those who prefer a less commercialized experience.
The environment of Rivers Bend Campground, based on these reviews, is in a "great location," likely near scenic roads that are popular with motorcyclists. The name "Rivers Bend" suggests proximity to a river, which could offer opportunities for fishing and a natural setting. However, the need for "a good scrubbing" indicates that the upkeep of the physical environment might not be top-notch.
In terms of services, the campground offers basic facilities, including at least one toilet and one shower. However, the lack of a wash basin is a notable limitation. There are designated areas for tent groups. The owner/caretaker seems to be a positive aspect of the service, providing assistance and adding to the experience for at least one visitor. Fishing is mentioned as an activity, implying potential access to a river or other water body.
The key features of Rivers Bend Campground appear to be its strategic location for exploring local roads, particularly for motorcyclists, its affordability for tent campers, and the personal touch provided by the owner/caretaker. The availability of tent camping areas and potential access to fishing are also features. However, the limited number of basic amenities (one toilet and shower, no wash basin) and the noted need for better cleanliness are important considerations.
There is no explicit promotional information in these reviews. However, the recurring mention of its suitability for motorcyclists traveling the local scenic routes serves as an implicit promotion to this specific user group. The affordability for tent campers is another positive aspect that could attract budget-conscious travelers.
For local users searching for a "camping near me" in the Coolville, Ohio, area, especially if you are a motorcyclist looking for a convenient stop along routes like the 555, Rivers Bend Campground offers a budget-friendly option with a reportedly great location. Tent campers might also find the price appealing. However, it's important to be aware of the limited amenities – just one toilet and shower, and no wash basin – and the mentioned need for improved cleanliness. If you prioritize location and affordability over extensive facilities, and if you appreciate supporting a potentially "Mom-n-Pop" operation, Rivers Bend Campground could be a viable choice for your next "camping near me" adventure. Contact them to get more details about their current facilities and availability.

Great location, but it needs a good scrubbing. The price is right for motorcycle tent campers, but there is no wash basin and only one toilet and shower.
Jun 21, 2024 · Ron CesarettiThis is a good camping spot for any motorcyclist traveling the 555 or any of the good local roads. it has a few areas for tent groups. I did not bring my motorhome, but i have been to many campgrounds and i do not get hung up on the 'perfect' campground. I key on the owners and workers at the spot and the owner/care taker that was there that night took care of us and gave flavor to the experience. We fished, ate, and drank and then hit the local roads the next morning. This is one of those campgrounds that need to exist. just like we like to stop at Mom-m-Pop food places, you need to stop here to keep them going.
Dec 06, 2020 · Richard FinleyWe rolled in with 5 motorcycles. Owner was very friendly and accommodating. He gave us a tour of the grounds and said "I have just the spot for you", complete with picnic tables, power outlets for our chargers, and overhead string lights. A great weekend destination!
Jun 12, 2019 · Chris SouthernCustomers beware of this owner. We paid full a summer lot in full that was middle of February 2017. Now two weeks before opening the season ,they call me and inform us that we can't have the lot that we paid for. And he had another lot to look at. Then we look at the lot, it was mudd hole that they they tried to cover with straw. I told him that I wanted I the lot that we paid for. He told me that I wasn't going to get it. And he had already reserve it for someone else. I ask him to show who reserved the lot first He said did not have to prove who reserve the lot first and there was nothing I can't do it about it then I told the owner I want my money back he said that he could not refund my money till other campers paid for there lots what great way to treat disabled veteran PLEAS BE CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH THE OWNER
