Will Rogers Scout Reservation Introduce
For local users in Oklahoma searching for "camping near me" or a suitable venue for events, Will Rogers Scout Reservation, located at 362689 US-64 in Cleveland, OK 74020, USA, offers a noteworthy option. Primarily known for hosting scout council events, this reservation also presents possibilities for other local camping and gatherings. Based on available customer feedback, it stands out for its cleanliness and generally accessible facilities, making it a potentially attractive choice for various local needs.
Environment: Clean and Well-Maintained Grounds
One of the most prominent aspects highlighted in the customer reviews is the cleanliness of the grounds at Will Rogers Scout Reservation. A recent attendee of a scout council event specifically mentioned that the grounds were "very clean" and that they did not find "a single piece of trash." This emphasis on cleanliness suggests that the management prioritizes maintaining a pleasant and hygienic environment for all visitors. For local users considering "camping near me," a clean campsite is a significant factor in ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience. While the reviews don't offer extensive details about the natural landscape or specific types of camping areas, the assurance of a clean environment provides a positive initial impression. However, one area for potential improvement mentioned was related to pet waste, indicating that while the overall grounds are clean, this might be a consideration for pet owners and other visitors. Despite this, the prevailing sentiment points towards a well-maintained outdoor space.
Services and Amenities: Decent and Generally Accessible Facilities
The reviews refer to "decent facilities" and mention "bathrooms being single stalls," which was appreciated by one visitor. The presence of single-stall bathrooms can be a plus for privacy and convenience. The mention of a "reading post" that operates on a "cash only" basis provides a specific piece of information about one of the on-site services. This suggests that there might be some form of small store or service area available within the reservation. The fact that it's cash only is a practical tip for anyone planning to utilize this facility. Additionally, the reservation offers "tables for eating and games for the kids" in certain areas, indicating provisions for group activities and dining during events. While the reviews don't detail the full range of services and amenities, the mention of decent and generally accessible facilities suggests that basic needs for camping and events are likely met. For local users exploring "camping near me," accessibility is an important consideration, and the positive feedback in this regard is encouraging. It would be beneficial to contact the reservation directly for a comprehensive list of available amenities, such as the types of camping available (tent sites, RV hookups, etc.), water sources, restroom and shower facilities, and any other specific services offered.
Features and Activities: Primarily Event-Oriented with Camping Potential
The primary use of Will Rogers Scout Reservation appears to be for organized events, particularly scout council events, as mentioned by multiple reviewers. One attendee stated, "We attended our first scout council event last weekend. The people working the event were amazing." This highlights the reservation's capacity to host and manage group activities effectively, with positive feedback about the staff involved. Another reviewer noted, "I attend a lot of events at this reservation and like it," further reinforcing its role as an event venue. While the focus seems to be on events, the term "scout reservation" inherently implies the availability of camping facilities for scout groups. This suggests that the location is equipped to accommodate overnight stays in a camping setting. For local users searching for "camping near me," it's worth investigating the possibility of individual or family camping opportunities when the reservation is not hosting large events. The presence of open grounds and the capacity to host overnight stays indicate potential for broader camping use. However, it would be crucial to inquire about the availability and specific conditions for non-scout affiliated camping. The mention of areas set up for "eating and games for the kids" during events also points to the potential for recreational activities within the reservation, although these might be primarily organized around specific events.

Will Rogers Scout Reservation Reviews
We attended our first scout council event last weekend. The people working the event were amazing and the grounds were very clean. Not a single piece of trash to be found. I appreciated the bathrooms being single stalls. The reading post was cash only, which I did not know before so keep that in mind when traveling there. The only thing I did not enjoy was the dogs on campus leaving poop in the area where they set up tables for eating and games for the kids. Please require pet owners to pick up after their pets.

Oct 28, 2024 · Tamara Sorcha TaylorThis is a Scouts BSA campground that can be rented for special events. I have camped here with various groups outside BSA and as a BSA scoutmaster for 30 years. I always love being at this place.
Jun 26, 2023 · JulieAnna RohdeLate 70s, early 80s I spent several summers here as a young Boy Scout. Looking back then it was like a whole new world. You could hike forever and never see the same thing twice. There was hiking, repelling, pioneering, swimming, canoeing, row boats. I even got Tapped-Out for the Order-of-The- Arrow Brotherhood here. A memory I'll never forget. I hope in the new PC WORLD that the anti's don't destroy the real legacy of the Boy Scouts. There's good and bad in everything, just hope that places like The Will Rogers Boy Scout Reservation will endure for generations to come.
