Pymatuning State Park is a significant natural attraction in Pennsylvania, renowned for its large reservoir, which spans the Pennsylvania-Ohio border. The Tuttle Point Campground is one of several camping areas within the park, offering a variety of campsites to accommodate different camping preferences. For those searching for "camping near me" with access to water-based activities, Tuttle Point's lakeside location is a major draw. Pymatuning Lake is popular for boating, including pontoon boats, sailboats, and fishing boats. Anglers will find a diverse range of fish species in the lake, making it a well-regarded fishing destination.
Recent customer feedback provides some insights into the camping experience at Tuttle Point Campground. One reviewer mentioned the presence of a volunteer enforcing campground rules, which led to some initial frustration regarding parking and pet policy. It's important for prospective campers to be aware of and adhere to the park's regulations to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay. The reviewer specifically highlighted a discrepancy between the pet policy information found on Reserve America (the booking platform often linked to Pennsylvania State Parks) and the official Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) website. While Reserve America might not specify a pet limit, the DCNR typically enforces a limit of two pets per campsite. This discrepancy underscores the importance of checking the official DCNR website for the most accurate and up-to-date regulations regarding pets and other park rules.
Despite the initial issue with the volunteer and pet policy, the same reviewer positively noted that the "full hookup sites are brand new and very well taken care of." This is a significant advantage for RV campers searching for "camping near me" with modern and well-maintained facilities. Full hookup sites typically include connections for electricity, water, and sewer, providing a comfortable and convenient camping experience for RV travelers.
Another reviewer offered a brief but positive comment, mentioning "nice sites" and highlighting the availability of "good places to walk your doggo." This suggests that Tuttle Point Campground is generally pet-friendly, aligning with the first reviewer's experience, albeit with the caveat about the two-pet limit per site as per DCNR regulations. The presence of areas suitable for walking pets is a valuable amenity for campers who travel with their animal companions.

Pymatuning State Park - Tuttle Point Campground Office Reviews
Would of been 5 star but the volunteer who goes around and busts chops ruined it. First he said i couldnt park in grass, which i was trying to move my truck to protect it from the 50 acorns an hour falling, then it was a miscommunication on their pet policy. We have 3 dogs, the website you are redirected to, Reserve America it doesn't give a pet limit, however it does state that on DCNR website that you are only allowed 2 pets per site. The only way they would accommodate it was either take 1 pet over an hour away home (at 7pm), board them down the road, or they bribed me to buy an additional site and it would all go away. That being said, full hookup sites are brand new and very well taken care of.
