Roaring Point Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" that offers a tranquil waterfront experience with opportunities for fishing and crabbing? Roaring Point Campground, located at 2360 Nanticoke Wharf Rd in Nanticoke, Maryland, could be the local getaway you've been searching for. Situated on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, this campground offers a secluded and basic camping experience with a focus on enjoying the natural surroundings and water-based activities. Let's delve into what Roaring Point Campground offers based on recent customer feedback available online.
The Waterfront Environment of Roaring Point Campground
One of the standout features of Roaring Point Campground, consistently mentioned by visitors, is its gorgeous waterfront views. Situated in Nanticoke, MD, it likely offers access to the Nanticoke River or a nearby tributary of the Chesapeake Bay, providing a scenic backdrop for your camping experience. The large and even campsites suggest that the layout is spacious and accommodating, allowing campers to settle in comfortably. The primary draw of the environment appears to be the direct access to water, making it an ideal location for those interested in fishing and crabbing.
However, it's important to note some environmental aspects mentioned in the reviews that potential local users should be aware of. One reviewer pointed out that accessing the fishing/crabbing dock requires wading in the water and climbing up, which might be challenging for some individuals. Additionally, another reviewer mentioned that the land end of the pier is missing, creating a "funny drop off into the water during high tides." These details suggest that while the waterfront location is a major asset, certain areas might have accessibility limitations or require caution depending on water levels.
Despite these points, the overall environment seems to be appreciated for its tranquility and opportunities for water-related activities. The mention of paddleboarding suggests that the waters are generally calm enough for such activities, further enhancing the appeal for those seeking a relaxing waterfront escape through their "camping near me" search.

- Water Access for Fishing and Crabbing: The campground provides direct access to water, with a dock for fishing and crabbing being a key feature. However, as mentioned earlier, accessing the dock might require wading.
- Limited Cell Service: One reviewer explicitly stated that there is no cell service at the campground. This is an important consideration for local users who rely on their mobile phones for communication or internet access. Be prepared for a digital disconnect during your stay.
- Small Store: The campground has a small store that is reported to be well-stocked, even carrying beer and wine. This can be a convenient amenity for picking up essentials or enjoying a local beverage.
- Organized Activities: During their stay, one reviewer mentioned organized activities such as an art activity one morning, bingo one afternoon, and music in the evening. This suggests that the campground may offer some form of entertainment or social engagement for guests, although the frequency and variety might vary.
- Gate Access: The mention of a locked gate and the need for an entry packet indicates that the campground has security measures in place. However, one reviewer experienced an issue with not receiving their entry packet, highlighting the importance of ensuring you have all necessary access information prior to arrival.
- No Pool: It was explicitly mentioned that the campground does not have a pool, which might be a factor for some local users seeking this amenity, especially those camping with families during warmer months.
- Repairs Needed: One of the critical points raised in the reviews is that the campground is "in need of repairs." This was specifically mentioned in relation to a dirty shower and an incomplete dock. Local users should be aware that the facilities might not be in pristine condition.
Considering these points will help local users manage their expectations regarding the services and amenities available at Roaring Point Campground when searching for "camping near me."

Promotional Information and Value Proposition
The provided information does not contain specific promotional details or discounts for Roaring Point Campground. However, we can analyze the value proposition based on the customer reviews. One reviewer mentioned paying $100 per night with a credit card surcharge and expressed an expectation of cleaner facilities and a completed dock at that price point. This suggests that the campground might be positioned at a higher price range, and local users should consider if the cost aligns with the current condition of the facilities and the amenities offered.

Roaring Point Campground Reviews
Campground is in need of repairs. For $100 dollars a night with a credit card surcharge I expected a clean shower and a completed dock. The views are gorgeous. Sites are large and even, but to get on the fishing/crabbing dock you have to wade in the water and climb up (high for me) onto the dock. We were here with our grandsons and one enjoyed catching crabs. There was an art activity one morning. Bingo one afternoon and music in the evening
Sep 02, 2024 · Elizabeth MerceNice campground. No cell service so we couldn't call at the locked gate because no one sent my entry packet but other campers came to our rescue! It's a lovely place. We crabbed, fished, and paddle boarded until the weather turned colder. It's secluded and basic. No pool. The little store is well stocked and even has some beer and wine! We used our ebikes to explore nearby parks and were impressed with the amount of green spaces preserved in the area, including several marinas. Very relaxing place to camp. Everyone is very nice. No rowdyness. We'll be back again! Oh and the land end of the pier is missing and a rather funny drop off into the water during high tides.
Oct 02, 2024 · Myra EllisJust spent Four nights there with family and friends. Great laid-back place to relax. Nice sunsets and friendly staff, especially Les Who is a hard-working, funny and friendly employee. Already booked for the same week next year and added a site for more friends.Situated a little bit out of the hustle and bustle it is a good way to kick back and relax.
Aug 18, 2024 · Jeff LudwigOur band performed there twice during the season. Family and friends camp there. Love the people and atmosphere. Great view!
Oct 20, 2024 · Scott SneadeThis campground is beautiful! We stayed for 2 nights while traveling from Virginia to Massachusetts and had site #9, at the end of the beach, under the shade of a beautiful mulberry tree! It's quiet and the sunsets are gorgeous. It would be a 5 star campground if not for the bathrooms and showers. They are very outdated and not in good condition, especially the shower stalls. More attention needs to be paid to these amenities in order for guests to return.
