Rock Cut State Park Campground Permit Office Reviews
I haven't had such a good, peaceful and enjoyable camping experience in a really long time.We stayed in a tent, party off a group of campers, done of who stayed in campers, some tents, and some converted buses. Some of us enjoyed a 7 mile hike, others concentrated on kayaking, and although it was quite chill by night, being twelve days before Halloween, the experience was truly memorable. One of our most exciting activities was a nightly kayak trip. Two days after full moon, and wind-silent, our photos resulted in unreal clarity and reflections. The staff at the store was friendly and helpful, but the ice ran out kind of quickly. That was the only little pity. The fact that they sell wood was a big bonus! The best characteristic about the park is it's silence. Early morning, and night time, greeted us with the peaceful sounds of nature. I could live there! We will be back, and if you are a camper/kayak trip lover, this is a great destination. It won't offer you rocky views and cascades, but relaxation, resting, and peace is abundant.
Oct 22, 2024 · Johann SmitBeautiful campground! Lots of tent and RV camping spots. There is a little cafe with ice cream, coffee, and food right by the water as well. They have a convenience store with worms and other fishing supplies. The campground was peaceful and easy to find. Great place to take kids. Dog friendly as well.

Apr 26, 2025 · al biskupWe had a very pleasant time. There are many single and double spots with privacy, as well as open areas. The grass is plush, and the camp roads peaceful. Great place for some quiet or to bring young kids to ride bikes around. There are also miles of trails for hiking and biking. Great for only $12 or $25 with electric.
May 20, 2023 · Mark CrutchfieldEnjoyed a couple nights midweek at a mostly empty campground. If you are camping you will want to enter off route 173. Google maps wanted to send me to the park office on Harlem and has it labeled the permit office, but that is not the permit office for camping. Lots of hiking opportunities, got 30,000 steps in exploring everywhere in one day. A few trails a closed and we had to change plans while out on a trail. Disappointed the Lone Rock trail was mostly closed. You could get to the rock, but just past it there was a long staircase that was closed. Other places trails are closed for construction or unknown reasons. South side of park is fairly busy even during weekdays. Around campgrounds is quieter midweek. If camping you might prefer the sites over 200. 100-200 are closer together and tend to attract a higher percentage of louder campers. We didn’t know this and chose it to be closer to the flush toilets. Most bathrooms are outhouses. Will choose differently next time. Lots of great trails and beautiful lake.
