Rombo Campground Reviews
Amazing, clean campground with very helpful and friendly hosts. Located about 30 minutes away from Darby, MT which offers groceries, gas, and more. The campground is also adjacent to the scenic west fork of the Bitterroot River. It was not very busy while we were there and there were lots of empty first come first served sites available, as well as a few sites that you can reserve online ahead of time. Definitely worth staying a few nights if you happen to be in the area.
Aug 03, 2024 · Max ReckerBest campground along the west fork. Campsites are reasonably spaced, tidy, well-kept, and logically oriented for backing a trailer or RV.
Aug 12, 2024 · Robert CosbyJust camped for four nights August 2020 in site #8. We loved this spot, private, beautiful, sounds of river rushing. site had path down to river and we set up a hammock there, so beautiful. We had planned to go to Lake Como and it was full-- this was our backup plan and it was about 100 times nicer. Used as a base camp for hiking (Baker Lake was great) and Fishing (recommend Bitterroot Fly Company in Darby). Don't recommend Painted Rocks State Park- water was very low in reservoir and campground was unpleasant, but the 7 miles from Rombo to Painted Rocks made for a nice bike ride. HIghly recommend Rombo
Aug 24, 2020 · Elisabeth MotleyGreat place to camp! Friendly, helpful camp hosts and close to the lake. I would definitely camp there again.
Jun 29, 2019 · Siobhan WilsonBeautiful setting on the West Fork of the Bitterroot. Camping and campground were terrific; fishing was fair. Suspect it would be better with somewhat cooler water, but not having explored the river previously, cannot be certain of that. Could have been a fisherman issue too. Only one way to find out.
