Roseland Resort & Campground Introduce
For local residents in West Virginia and the surrounding region searching within the "camping near me" category for a destination that combines the beauty of nature with resort-style amenities and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, Roseland Resort & Campground, located at 925 Nolte Ln in Proctor, WV 26055, USA, offers a compelling option. This campground appears to go beyond the traditional camping experience, providing a range of features and services designed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, whether you're on a weekend getaway or a longer road trip.
The environment at Roseland Resort & Campground is consistently praised for its beauty and natural appeal. One reviewer specifically mentioned "scenery" as a highlight, indicating that the location offers visually pleasing surroundings. The presence of "extensive, maintained trail system that is thoughtfully marked with signs on flora, fauna and local data" suggests a significant opportunity for exploration and immersion in the local ecosystem. These trails cater to those who enjoy hiking and offer an educational component, allowing visitors to learn about the natural and cultural aspects of the area. The "beautiful grounds" further imply a well-kept and aesthetically pleasing environment throughout the resort and campground. While the specific type of landscape (e.g., mountainous, wooded, lakeside) isn't detailed, the positive descriptions suggest a setting that is conducive to outdoor enjoyment and relaxation.
The services and features at Roseland Resort & Campground seem to be a major draw for visitors. Notably, the presence of "hot tubs" offers a touch of luxury and relaxation often not found at traditional campgrounds. This amenity would be particularly appealing after a day of hiking or exploring the area. The facilities are described as "very clean," indicating a high standard of maintenance and care, which contributes significantly to a comfortable and pleasant stay. The staff is also consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. One reviewer noted that the staff was "always busy but still had a moment to be friendly and share a smile," highlighting a positive and welcoming attitude. Another reviewer specifically lauded the manager, David, for his "warm, effusive welcome and orientation" upon arrival, describing him as exceptionally friendly and helpful, akin to a "big brother/cool uncle." This personal touch in customer service suggests that guests can expect to feel genuinely welcomed and supported during their visit.
Roseland Resort & Campground also appears to be pet-friendly, as one reviewer mentioned staying there with two dogs who were welcomed. This is a significant feature for local pet owners looking for a "camping near me" option where their furry companions are also welcome. The reviewer even shared a heartwarming anecdote about their young Doberman winning a costume contest, suggesting that the resort hosts engaging and fun activities for guests, although another review offers a contrasting perspective on daily organized activities.
However, it's important to present a balanced view based on all the provided information. One reviewer noted that "outside of the bar and pool, there are zero daily activities. No Volleyball or horseshoes or corn hole or any outdoor activities." This suggests that while the grounds and facilities are beautiful, and the service is friendly, those looking for organized daily recreational activities beyond the bar and pool might find the options limited. This is a crucial point for local users who prioritize structured activities during their camping or resort stay.
Promotional information is not explicitly stated in the reviews. However, the overwhelmingly positive experiences shared by several reviewers act as strong endorsements. The mention of clean facilities, friendly staff, beautiful scenery, maintained trails, and hot tubs are all compelling reasons to consider Roseland Resort & Campground for a local getaway. The fact that one reviewer is eager to return and describes the resort as "excellent in every way" speaks volumes about the positive impression it leaves on its guests. To learn about specific rates, availability, the operating hours of the bar and pool, and any seasonal promotions or events, local users should contact Roseland Resort & Campground directly via phone at (304) 455-3838 or +1 304-455-3838. Inquiring about the availability of activities beyond the bar and pool might also be beneficial for those seeking a more structured recreational experience.
In conclusion, Roseland Resort & Campground near Proctor, West Virginia, offers a potentially exceptional "camping near me" experience characterized by beautiful scenery, well-maintained trails, relaxing hot tubs, and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The cleanliness of the facilities is also a significant plus. It is a pet-friendly resort that seems to foster a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. However, potential visitors should be aware that organized daily activities beyond the bar and pool may be limited. For local users prioritizing a beautiful setting, opportunities for hiking, relaxation in hot tubs, and warm hospitality, Roseland Resort & Campground appears to be a fantastic choice. Contacting them directly will provide the necessary details on pricing, availability, and the full range of amenities and services to ensure it aligns with your preferences for a local resort and campground getaway.

Roseland Resort & Campground Reviews
I was there with 2 dogs on first leg of long roadtrip. Love the whole place, the trails, scenery, hot tubs, grounds and friendly seasonal guys. The facilities were very clean and the staff always busy but still had a moment to be friendly and share a smile. What stands out the most is the warm, effusive welcome and orientation I received on arrival from the manager, David. He is like a big brother/cool uncle you didn’t know you needed (even if you might be older than he).I loved every minute there. I wish I had better weather but even in the intermittent light drizzle I explored the extensive, maintained trail system that is thoughtfully marked with signs on flora, fauna and local data.My young Doberman won the first prize in the costume contest as an improvised little red riding hood! I can’t wait to return. The resort is excellent in every way.
Nov 11, 2024 · DAMiamiBeautiful grounds and facility, but unfortunately, outside of the bar and pool, there are zero daily activities. No Volleyball or horseshoes or corn hole or any outdoor activities. Which is a real shame because there’s plenty of room for it on the grounds.
Feb 16, 2025 · Kenyon AlexanderAs a gay veteran and connecting with the owner who is Marine. I felt safe and comfortable until I saw the possibility of him harassing and physically assaulting one of his patrons once alcohol kicked in. Seems there's a lot more internal homophobia here rather than lgbtq community here. Save yourself the trip and the possibility of being kicked out in the middle of the night due to you being yourself.Sincerely Disappointed camper
Dec 01, 2024 · AA wild & wonderful gay getaway -- as a West Virginian (who moved out of the state nearly a decade ago), Roseland is a queer space unlike anywhere in the state. It's oh-so-charming and boasts even more amenities than other gay campsites I have been to in the Poconos. Staff was so friendly - and the food options at Town Hall were surprisingly tasty! Pool is very well maintained and even features a full fledge bar right next to it. As for our stay, we lodged in the deluxe cabin - which comfortably fit my partner and I. The drive out to Roseland is definitely off the beaten path, but worth the experience that I'll never forget - I hope to return!
Sep 04, 2024 · William LillyI recently was able to spend two nights at the Roseland Resort and Campground, I will say that I had an amazing time! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, a friend and I stayed during the week so it was pretty quiet and extremely relaxing. We were checked in by Mackenzie, who was an absolute pleasure to speak to and helped us get to our cabin and gave us a map so we could explore for ourselves. The place is massive and absolutely gorgeous, the rolling hills and beautiful greenery made the slogan “It’s all about the view” come to life. The bartender Josh was super welcoming as well and was sure to take care of us during our stay.Between the way the residents and the staff welcomed us I would definitely recommend this place to many (as I already have).I will definitely be back either on my own or with friends.Thank you for such an amazing experience!
