While some minor drawbacks are noted, Springhill Park appears to offer a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience for both RV and tent campers looking for a local escape.
The environment at Springhill Park Campground is described as featuring "big open spaces," making it ideal for families with children who need room to play. The presence of "plenty of shade" in the wooded areas is a significant advantage, particularly during the warmer months in Arkansas, providing a cooler and more comfortable camping experience. While some areas have mostly dirt ground, others, like site B10, feature asphalt pads with concrete patios, offering a more level and stable surface, especially for larger RVs. The campground is also situated near the river, with some sites offering a partial view, enhancing the natural appeal. However, one reviewer noted "a lot of vehicle traffic near our camp site," which is a factor to consider for those seeking absolute tranquility within the "camping near me" options. Additionally, the presence of snakes in the area is mentioned, so caution and awareness are advised.
In terms of services, Springhill Park Campground offers essential amenities for a comfortable stay. Both water and electric hookups are reported to be "easy to use" and conveniently located for RV campers. The availability of 50/30/20 amp electrical service at some sites (like B10) can accommodate a variety of RV sizes and power needs. The campground also provides "convenient trash dumping areas" and an "easy to use" drain station for RV waste. While there are no sewer hookups at individual sites, the presence of a dump station is a crucial service for RVers. Restroom facilities are available, with older but reportedly "clean" restrooms and separate single-person combined toilet and shower rooms located at the front of the park. For recreational needs, Springhill Park boasts "mountain bike/hiking trails all over," including a "little bike park with ramps and jumps," catering to outdoor enthusiasts. A playground is also available for children, and a boat ramp provides access to the river for boating activities. While some sites might need maintenance, the overall service provision seems adequate for a pleasant camping experience.
The features of Springhill Park Campground are diverse, catering to a range of camping preferences. The spacious and roomy sites, particularly those in the woods offering ample shade, are a significant draw. The availability of different site types, including those with asphalt pads and concrete patios suitable for larger RVs, adds to the versatility of the campground. The electric and water hookups are essential for RV comfort, and the dump station supports longer stays. The recreational features, such as the extensive network of mountain bike and hiking trails and the dedicated bike park, make this campground attractive to active families and outdoor adventurers. The playground and boat ramp further enhance its appeal to a broader range of campers. The ability to have a fire ring and picnic table at each site (as noted for B10) contributes to a traditional camping experience. The quiet atmosphere reported by one reviewer, despite a decent number of other campers, suggests a well-laid-out park that manages to maintain a sense of peace in many areas.

Springhill Park Campground Reviews
We stayed in camping spot A2 for 3 days. The water hook ups and electric post were easy to use and weren't super far away from the RV pad. The spot was quiet and clean even with a decent amount of other campers around. There were big open spaces for my kids to play and convenient trash dumping areas. The drain station was easy to use and as clean as it could be for what they are used for. I only give 4 stars for the reason of there was a lot of vehicle traffic near our camp site and I kept having to move my kids that were riding their bicycles to avoid the cars. Also, watch out for snakes. We saw a few not far from our camp.
Apr 03, 2025 · michael comstockA little older of an area. Stayed in site B10. Close to level. We have a 36' 5th wheel, tow vehicle, plus another vehicle. Easy entry into site and large enough for all vehicles. Asphalt with concrete patio. There is a picnic table and fire ring. 50/30/20A We can kind of see the river from this site. Very roomy sites in the woods with plenty of shade. Mostly dirt ground. Older but clean restrooms. We didn't use them. There are single person combined toilet and shower rooms at the front of park. There are mountain bike/hiking trails all over, even a little bike park with ramps and jumps. Playground and boat ramp. No sewer hookups, but there is a dump station. Lots of mosquitoes in the evening. Although some sites need maintenance and the restrooms are old, this is a nice park. We stayed 2 days and would definitely stay again.
Sep 12, 2024 · Paul MWe stayed in area A. The only drawback was area A only has 30 amp hookups and water. Area B does have 50 amp with water. Dump station is easily accessible coming in and out of the campground. Sites are mostly shaded with nice spacing between each. Some sites have as many as 3 sites close together. It's just right for a family outing. In addition, the sites are well maintained. I saw a lady going around one morning sweeping the sites off after visitors left. See a picture of one of the campers and sites attached.
Sep 29, 2024 · Rick HollinExcellent spot for camping! You're right on the river, so fishing is perfect. There's so many parks for the kids to play, bathroom facilities are nice, and you can't beat the beauty. We had the only spot, A6, that did not have any shade, but we enjoyed ourselves. Definitely would recommend it.
Jun 25, 2023 · Lauren FumagalliSpringhill Park Campground, Barling Arkansas: A Corp of Engineers Park. When we arrived a little after 2:00 pm there was no one at the gate house, just a note that said for campers to go to your site. On our way we happened to run into the camp host and when we asked when he would be at the gate so we could register he said... "You just did!". It doesn't get any easier then that.Driving through the campground to our site I was getting worried as I glanced around and noticed so many short sites with large odd inclines. A large rig like ours would certainly hit the landing gear backing into one. Happily, our site was a little longer and way more level. We are almost 70' long but were able to get to our site in "B" section fine. The site is not deep enough for us to park directly in front of our camper but there was plenty of room to park to the side or on an angle. This is an older park and it shows in various ways (insides of the bathhouse being one of them). Having said that, the sites are well shaded and spaced far apart. We had 50 amp service and water hook ups. Both remained constant for our time there. We also had a concrete pad to set our chairs out on and a picnic table to eat at. Along with that there was a fire ring with an attached grill for cooking. There is also a boat ramp, beautiful river views, playground and a dump station. This is not a resort, but it is clean, inexpensive and seems safe.
