Clear Creek Park Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Alma, Arkansas area? Consider Clear Creek Park Campground, located at 3426 Clear Creek Rd, Alma, AR 72921, USA. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground, despite its simplicity, is considered a favorite by some locals, particularly for its quiet atmosphere during the week, nice views, and the convenience of fishing right by your campsite. However, potential visitors should also be aware of some drawbacks mentioned, such as cooler water temperatures, the absence of a playground, bathrooms needing improvement, and some sites being mostly dirt due to a past flood. For local users seeking a smaller and potentially peaceful "camping near me" option with fishing access, Clear Creek Park Campground offers some appealing aspects, alongside areas where improvements could be made.
Environment: Nice Views and Creek-Side Camping
Clear Creek Park Campground is praised for its "nice views" and the feature of "fishing right by your campsite," which strongly suggests that the campground is situated along or very close to a creek or other body of water. This creek-side location would likely contribute to the scenic beauty and provide easy access for anglers. The fact that one reviewer, even from a spot near the entrance, noted having a level site with a picnic table and fire pit indicates that the basic infrastructure for camping is in place. The campground is also described as "small, and quiet during the week," which could be a significant draw for those seeking a more peaceful and less crowded "camping near me" experience. The natural environment likely includes the creek itself and the surrounding vegetation typical of the Alma, Arkansas region, potentially offering a pleasant backdrop for relaxation and outdoor activities.
However, one significant environmental impact mentioned is that "due to a flood, several of the sites are all or mostly, dirt with little grass." This suggests that the ground conditions at some campsites might not be ideal, potentially being less comfortable and perhaps dustier when dry or muddier when wet. This is an important consideration for potential campers, especially those preferring grassy areas for their tents or outdoor setup.
Services and Amenities: Basic Camping with Room for Improvement
The services and amenities at Clear Creek Park Campground appear to be somewhat basic. The presence of level sites with a picnic table and fire pit is noted. The water pressure is described as "good," which is a positive aspect for those needing to use water at their campsite or in RVs. However, the water temperature is mentioned as "not warm enough," which could be a drawback for those planning to use any provided showers or simply prefer warmer water for washing. A notable absence is a playground, which might be a consideration for families with young children looking for "camping near me" with kid-friendly facilities.
The condition of the bathrooms is a significant concern raised in a review, stating that they "need a deep clean and a remodel." This suggests that the restroom facilities might be outdated or not well-maintained, which could impact the overall comfort of campers. The availability of other standard campground amenities, such as electrical hookups, dump stations, or laundry facilities, is not mentioned in the provided reviews, implying they might be limited or absent. For local users prioritizing well-maintained facilities and recreational amenities like playgrounds, Clear Creek Park Campground might fall short in some areas.
Features: Creek-Side Fishing, Quiet Atmosphere, Basic Setup
The standout features of Clear Creek Park Campground seem to be its location that allows for "fishing right by your campsite" and its generally "small, and quiet during the week" atmosphere. These features could be particularly appealing to anglers and those seeking a peaceful "camping near me" experience away from larger, more bustling campgrounds. The provision of level sites with a picnic table and fire pit offers the basic necessities for a comfortable camping setup.
However, potential campers should also consider the less favorable features, such as the cooler water temperature, the lack of a playground, the need for bathroom improvements, and the possibility of encountering dirt sites due to flooding. These aspects might influence the decision for those with specific preferences or needs.
Promotional Information: Enjoy Simple Camping by the Creek in Alma

While the campground has its charms, it's also worth noting that the water temperature might be cooler than some prefer, there is no playground for children, and the bathrooms are in need of upgrades. Additionally, some campsites may be primarily dirt due to past flooding. If these aspects are not major concerns for you, the tranquility and creek-side fishing at Clear Creek Park Campground might make it a worthwhile "camping near me" destination.

Clear Creek Park Campground Reviews
Low stars only because I was in a spot right at the entrance and didn't get to see any of the actual campground as the gates were closed. Level with a picnic table and fire pit.

Mar 22, 2025 · Tiffany MusgroveThis was a beautiful campground but there are issues. There are no camp hosts or rangers. Period, not once dud I see a ranger in over a week there. I was there 8 days. There were three others when I first arrived and only myself and a family at the opposite end. After two days there were only the family and myself, such I liked. There were a ton of random cars and trucks that rode through park. The water is a communal hookup that even my 50 foot hose wouldn't reach without moving out of my space. The dump station was at the entrance by was locked and couldn't be used, with no camp host to talk to I hash to drive to my next destination with a weeks worth of sewage in my tanks. That truly sucked. I probably wouldn't book a stay there again but if you can work around these things its really, really pretty.
