One reviewer initially approached Roosevelt Lakeview Park with some apprehension due to a past negative experience at the nearby beach area. However, their recent experience at the camping area was surprisingly positive. This highlights the potential for a fresh and enjoyable experience, even if you have preconceived notions based on past encounters with the broader Roosevelt Lake area.
The reviewer specifically noted the pleasantness of the "camping area," indicating that Roosevelt Lakeview Park caters not only to RVs but also provides dedicated spaces for tent campers. This is a significant feature for those who prefer a more traditional camping experience or are just starting out, as the reviewer mentioned being beginner tent campers after a long hiatus.
While the terrain of their specific campsite was described as "a little difficult because it went downhill," the reviewer found that "it worked out anyway." This suggests that while some sites might have unique characteristics, they are generally manageable. It might be worth inquiring about site levels and specific needs when making a reservation.
One of the standout aspects of Roosevelt Lakeview Park is its scenic environment. Arriving late, the reviewer was treated to the sight of the sky changing colors on the mountain and a view of the lake, which they described as "lovely." Even though the lake was still cold at the time of their visit, the visual appeal of the surroundings is evident. The "Lakeview" in the park's name appears to be well-deserved, offering campers the beauty of the Roosevelt Lake area.
A significant highlight of the camping experience was the ability to have a fire and roast marshmallows as the sun set. This quintessential camping activity adds to the overall enjoyment and creates lasting memories. Following this, the reviewer and their companions spent an hour lying under the stars, which they described as the "Best part!" They enjoyed listening to the coyotes, observing the "glorious stars," attempting to identify constellations, and watching shooting stars and satellites pass by. This experience underscores the potential for stunning night skies, likely due to the relatively remote location and minimal light pollution.
Another positive aspect of Roosevelt Lakeview Park is the friendliness of the fellow campers. The reviewer found this surprising and appreciated the positive social interaction, noting that it was "Hard to imagine in these times, so another good point." A welcoming and friendly community can greatly enhance the camping experience, making it more enjoyable and memorable.

Roosevelt Lakeview Park Reviews
I really wasn’t excited about going here at first. We’d had a bad experience just swimming at the beach area decades ago so I’ve never been back.I was so surprised how nice the camping area was. We went for 1 night just to try out our equipment and see if we could handle our cots and just going tent camping again after more than 35 years. It was great! The space itself was a little difficult because it went downhill but it worked out anyway. We got there pretty late so the sky was changing colors on the mountain and we could see the lake which looked lovely. Still way cold though. The sun set & we were able to have a fire(yay!) and roasted marshmallows. Then we dragged out our bedding and lay down under the stars for about an hour. Best part! Listened to the coyotes, saw all the glorious stars, tried to name the constellations, and watched shooting stars and satellites go by. What a show! And fellow campers were friendly. Hard to imagine in these times, so another good point. So what are you waiting for? The perfect beginner campground.
